My Magic Grandpa Live Reading Streams are here!

It won't be long before I'm back to drawing My Magic Grandpa, but I need to re-read what I've done so far to get back in the right mindset and to remember things I forgot I put in the story. Hoping this will give me more ideas for season 2. I may bring on the occasional guest to help me read.

I'll be doing live readings of 1-2 episodes at a time depending on how long they are, which can be up to 4 chapters at a time. Streaming will be on youtube live, and I will provide a link an hour prior to streaming.

Dear Ponies With Pockets Productions, First of all, I would like to thank you for creating the Doctor Whooves and Assistant series. Thanks to your work, Doctor Whooves has become my favorite character.Without taking up too much of your time, I would like to ask a question. As a fan of the series, would it be possible for me to create Turkish subtitles for your videos? If you approve, I would be happy to translate the series into Turkish completely free of charge.

That would be lovely, and we encourage people with other languages to do the same! We'd just need to figure out how to actually apply subtitles, its probably not too complex but we haven't done it before.

Fundraiser for Derpy Let's Plays?

Someone brought up that they'd love to see Derpy return to Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe, which I do have and have not had the chance to play yet.

If I were to do a fundraiser where say, every 50 dollars I will do a new run through the game, would people be interested?

I know I can't make the same super cute Derpy squeals I used to, but I can still keep her goofiness

any updates on DW&A?

We're really hurting bad for editors right now. When we opened applications for editors we got one submission that was too vague to even accept and that was it.

We'd be much further ahead if we had active editors, but the usual editor for putting scenes together has had a broken laptop, and the SFX editor we more recently got set up on episode 17 has been busy on and off so 17 is maybe a bit less than halfway done with the first few scenes having SFX and music. Now we're just waiting for more free time to happen.

And we have episode 16 more or less done but want more progress on 17 before release, but that's starting to look like an awful idea.

Episode 18 is having vocals edited together right now because a different editor became available for it

Any time there are delays like this?

It's generally because we really really REALLY need editors.

It's what caused the series to temporarily cancel in the first place

Edited live reading video of episode 1 has been posted, meaning it has awkward pauses and such removed and has some fun photo references added whenever I share IRL references in the comic.

Today I (BaldDumboRat) ended up figuring out some big big lore about the pony universe and how it functions, which ended up causing me to fixate on an important villain for season 2 all day with scripting, reference drawing, and clicking a lot of things into place that weren't clicking before in the plot. Finally winding down from it but confident people will love this.

Very excited but it won't be until episode 22

Brief Progress Report

Won't tell you what hasn't been worked on recently but will say what is on the way:

-Episode 16 audio is finished, art is almost finished, waiting on ep 17 to be closer to completion

-Ep 17 has half of sound effects in and some music

-Ep 18 has all lines in, needs vocals to be spliced

-Episode 1-3 Remaster audio is done, just needs new art

-Episode 4 Remaster audio is done, needs new art

-Episode 5 Remaster will be in the works next

-Doctor Whooves Adventures Bells of Fate has recently been thoroughly discussed to work out some things in the script and is now ready to be properly scripted

-Season 1 Behind the Scenes almost fully scripted

-Season 1 Summary told by Derpy about halfway scripted

Calling All Artists!

The audio remaster of episode 1 is almost done, just replacing Luna's VA with a more consistent VA to episode 5

That said, this is everyone's opportunity to draw fan art for the episode which I can feature in the remaster video! Just listen to episode 1-3 (it's one episode but we labeled the parts as separate episodes at the start) if you haven't in a while, and draw your favorite scenes! Submit your art to our submission box and say how you want to be credited! The deadline is the 21st of this month (March)

Exciting News!

The old DWnA files before episode 8 were thought to be lost to a broken harddrive, but I managed to somehow against all odds wiggle things just right to get it detected and I extracted the old files onto a new harddrive. So far things are working, and I have all the way back to the first version of the first episode. What this means is I can now hopefully remaster older episodes with original music instead of music from copyrighted content!

Brief Progress Update

First of all, episode 3 of Aristotle's Apocalypse is coming out this Saturday the 21st at 12:00pm PST

Onto Doctor Whooves and Assistant:

Episode 16 is almost completely done, we're just waiting for episode 17 to be closer to finished before we do the last touches and video.

Episode 17 has SFX for about half the episode, and music for a few scenes which means those scenes just need mastering

Episode 18 is on pause but has a few scenes with dialogue put together and all lines are in

There is a Season 1 Summary video being scripted of Derpy telling what happened on their biggest adventures. It is currently up to episode 9 which is almost done. It is being scripted during commute to and from work.

While the summary is being scripted, the script for the season 1 behind the scenes video is on pause but it will be worked on after the Derpy summary

We have more tik tok shorts but we're trying to build up just a bit more of a queue before we go back to weekly releases

Doctor Whooves Adventures has been on pause because it's been difficult to find a time to go over the script and get it finished up, but it has NOT been abandoned. The head writer has just been going through a lot the past year or so.

We have a 3 part special in the works as well, a lot of it was scripted over a year ago but we're trying to get back into it again.

That's about all I can think of right now, thank you all for being patient!
