Okay, let’s talk about this

So, if you don’t know, which you probably don’t, I have recently put a Who Killed Markiplier fan game on hold. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out the official Tumblr for it here: @whowillsavemarkiplier

On there you will see a casting call and everything. What’s the casting call for? Mainly for artists. Yeah, I understand that’s hard to ask, yeah I understand that people don’t work for free, I understand that and respect that. But please, if you can somehow help in any way, please share this. Talk to people about this game, I just need help at this rate or this game will never happen. If I could do this myself, I would. I totally would, but the art style I picture for this game is not my own. I’m not cut out for it, so it just seems pointless for me to do so. I’ve done placeholders for now but that’s what they are: placeholders. I’m sorry this sounds really beg-y, but there’s only so much I can really do. I’m thinking of making a discord server so that anyone who wants to help, can. I’m not asking for individuals anymore, that would be unfair. I need a team. So I’m asking for writers, artists (pixel and digital), and even composers. If you don’t fit in these categories, maybe you know someone who does. Please let me know! Two years ago...

This game has been in development two years now. I first came up with the idea in the shower and rushed over to my computer to text my now ex-girlfriend about it. She was supportive and asked me questions about it so I could get the fuller story. Reading those messages now are somehow strange considering how different the story was to how it is now.

At the time so much was happening. I was working on my senior show (which I got no credit from and no I’m not still salty about it), I was working on an album with a friend (never happened), and I was a trying to pass classes so I could graduate. So of course I would get another thing on my plate, haha. I soon started a (at the time) pirated version of RPG Maker MV and started making the game. Then made an outline because I couldn’t figure out what the hell I was doing.

On September 18th, 2018, I tried to ask for help because I realized I couldn’t do everything by myself. It wasn’t the best structure wise. I asked for one of everything instead of multiple people, so glad I didn’t stick with that. Needless to say, that didn’t work out and the game kind of went on a hiatus midway through the story.

A few months later, February 12th 2019, I made a post with way more flexible requests. I decided to ask for multiple volunteers instead one each task. Little did I know I would get tons of volunteers and start up a discord server with a friend to handle it all.

People have come and gone since then. We’ve had several hellos accompanied with a few goodbyes. I genuinely couldn’t be happier with my team and how far we have come. I’ve met so many people I would have never met if it weren’t for this project. Then there’s the support people have shown for this project is so crazy to me. I am overwhelmed and so happy about it.

Although there has been bumps in the road, I am so glad we’re here now and will continue to make this game happen. I’m so excited for you all to see it and I can’t wait to hear what you think.

I guess what I’m trying to say is thank you. Thank you to anyone who has been part of this project. Thank you for anyone who has like a post on this page. Thank you to anyone who has sent an ask. Thank you to anyone who has volunteered. Thank you for anyone who has sent an application. Lastly, I want to thank you for following the development of Who Will Save Markiplier.
