For the character answer... Kylan! Bonus Naia?
Give me a character and I will answer:
Kylan is a very relatable character,,, I really connect with him on so many levels. He came from bad beginnings, witnessing his parents' murder by the Hunter and suffered bullying in his youth by the other Spriton because of his mixed heritage. What I like about him is, through it all he chooses to remain kind. He is always so considerate of others and his arc through the novels is one of my favorites. Not knowing where he belongs and then realizing where he's meant to be and what he's meant to do just hits me in the feelings every time.
There is literally no reason to not like Kylan.
Favorite episode (scene if movie):
We don't get to see a lot of him in the series, but in the books there is one part where he snaps at Aughra and I love that for him. "I've had enough riddles, and I've had enough of you." like BABY PLS.
There is only one season of Age of Resistance and I love every second he's on screen.
There is a part in the books where he stands up to SkekLi after he's called helpless. He says, "I am not helpless, I am not a hostage, and I'm not weak!" and I think he bites him afterwards...
His red tunic with knee high boots, love that aesthetic for him.
You all should know by now I'm Rian/Kylan trash. They have SO MUCH chemistry together it's a better love story than Stonegrot. I know what I said. He made up a song for Rian on the spot to help him grieve. We unfortunately don't get to see a lot of their interactions but my friend and I talk about how Kylan could potentially help Rian love again and find peace and I'm soft.
Kylan and Naia!!! I love their healthy platonic friendship and there needs to be more of that.
My friend and I have so many... how about the one where the song Jen plays at the beginning of the movie was Kylan's last song? We know the bell bone firca had the ability to immobilize arathim, so it could have the ability to immobilize the garthim and keep them at bay long enough for the mystics to rescue Jen. Kylan of course does not make it and passes away after his son is rescued so he last song he played was a swan song. Jen remembers this song and plays it sometimes, not exactly knowing where it came from.
(also yeah we believe Jen is Kylan's son too)
My unpopular opinion is that Kylan is not popular enough. He's only the funny broth boy and he's SO MUCH MORE THAN THAT!!!!
I really wish the series kept true to his character in the novels and that we saw more of him in the series. Kylan is not a fighter; why they had him participate in the final battle is still baffling to me.
