Loki did hear about that when he was with the Young Avengers, but chose not to ask anything because it should be a sensitive topic. The last thing he would need right not would be to make Billy even more distressed. The god stretched himself lightly on top of Billy’s desk and tilted his head to the side slightly, looking at the window as he listened.
“You can, but, different from me, you have morals: so you won’t. I’m not going to suggest you wipe off their existence, but don’t hesitate do defend yourself from their attacks. You are very powerful, Billy. Don’t be scared of it… it’s quite amazing, actually.”
Billy looked down at his hands, silent for a good while. He didn’t talk about the War often, or what he experienced during it. There really weren’t words to describe it, and it certainly wasn’t something he enjoyed revisiting. For a moment, the thoughts had little arcs of lighting curling around his fingers, but he pressed them and the memories back with a sigh.
“It’s hard not to be scared when I don’t know everything that I’m capable of. When there’s no... set limit to what I can do. I always worry that I’ll go too far, that in trying to simply stop someone I’ll send them out of existence. Or that I’ll start to want people dead. I... I’m more afraid of myself than anyone else.”
