It's really silly to some people but when there is a ship you dislike, not because it's not your most preferred, but simply because you REALLY don't like it, think the characters don't have chemistry or it's poor writing it can and does spoil the experience a bit. In CR1 for me it was Vaxleth (and to an extent Pikelan if that's the name until Scanlan got his shit together). The uncomfortable conversations literally made it less of a joy to watch, and for me this is different than something like Perc'ahlia which was not my most preferred if I could literally match everyone up the exact way I wanted but I DID feel were fun and well written so did not ruin my enjoyment. Now that we have two of my least fav and imo most awkward things rapidly progressing in CR2 it's so crazy to me that people can't accept that something as "stupid" as a ship might ruin the experience when the romances are a huge part of the story!!!

I agree. The way they have started playing up the FJ and BY relationships post hiatus are the main reasons I stopped watching. It really ruined my enjoyment mostly because the chemistry isn't there and them playing up the awkwardness of it isn't cute to me, it's just awkward, I got second hand embarrassment. If I'm being honest I don't think I would have stuck around even if they handled FJ and BY with a bit more grace because I they just fundamentally don't jive with me but making all the characters talk up FJ and BY as well during other character interactions did not help (i.e. Beau and Jester dancing scene)

Thinking pretty heavily about how wealthy white women in the U.S. are afforded infinite good will and assumption of intentions when portraying gay content to the point that multiple times I've seen people say not to assume that Ashley Johnson or Marisha Ray are straight, but writers in countries where being gay can get you in tons of legal discrimination and there are literal censorship laws preventing publication of explicit gay literature people will automatically have bad will, assume the worst intentions, and call the female authors straight as if it would be easy to be out and as if we actually know anything about these authors to begin with
