SDSU Orientation was no biggie. I think my biggest fear was not knowing what to do, or where to go, and not being able to make new friends... But after today I realized that I'm a total complete opposite person of who I though I am. I ended up making 2 new friends and I was really surprised that all 3 of us hung out the whole time during orientation (except for lunch). I was literally the only Asian in my major today... Makes me wonder how school will be when we start cause I was surrounded by so many other ethnicities today with Asians being the least seen there. D:
I think having orientation really opened up my eyes to college, and it really hit me that I'm starting a whole new chapter in my life. It really makes me excited for all this change to be happening because I've been craving new adventures and exciting life experiences :)
*Still a tumblr noob after not being on here for so long.. put this post on queue and didn't remember what it did*
Today is my birthday and I’m ending the day feeling like a satisfied, sleepy sloth, gently being carried away by a bagillion balloons!

Went to the Bridge USA Japanese Summer Festival today with Ben and Jamie cause I got 3 free tix :D It was really overwhelming at first because there were soooo many people... And majority were Japanese.. so it kinda felt weird being there, but it made me feel so happy cause there were such positive vibes. :) We walked around at first to see what there was and such. There were LOTS of vendors selling food and it smelled soooo good. It was at the place where prom was at so it felt kinda weird seeing it being used a whole different way o:
We started off at the Fish Scoop where we were given two nets made from rice paper, and we had to scoop as much fish as we could before it broke... Mine broke after my first try and I was like "Aw man it broke" in a sad tone, and the guy gave me another net to try again hehe. Such a fail, we still only got 2 ): Ben got one, and I got one, and my sister couldn't get any.
Then we tried Yakitori (Chicken Skewers), and cold ramen from Tajima, and watched little karate kids perform lol. A lot of the kids there were mixed, half Japanese and half white, and they were so adorable <3.
Went to Convoy and tried Boba Time for the first time, and got Taro Slush for the first time too. Today was full of firsts for me :)
*the fishies are now my sister's pets and are living in a fishbowl and being fed and stuff*
Everything Love
you see, the thing about self esteem is
it doesn’t matter how many people you have supporting you, telling you you’re talented, or attractive, or smart
because in the end, if you truly cannot believe it yourself
or worse, if you depend on those outside forces to confirm positive perceptions of yourself
you still feel pretty shitty.
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.
An entire sea of water can’t sink a ship unless it gets inside the ship. Similarly, the negativity of the world can’t put you down unless you allow it to get inside you.

The key to success is held within one’s mind. You can do anything if you put your mind into it. All it takes is motivation, dedication, and effort. The question remains: how bad do you want it?
It takes nothing to join the crowd. It takes everything to stand alone.

A lot can change in a year. I’ve made new friends and gotten closer to some who replaced people I used to be friends with in which now I call acquaintances. I’ve found myself realizing the top priorities in life: education, family, friends, and love. I’m growing up as the person I said I wanted to be, and I am content with life. I’ve learned so much about myself in a year and never would have thought to come so far without giving up. My life isn’t picture-perfect, but that’s why I learn from my imperfections to make things perfect enough for me.
You got to fight for what you want because if you don’t, you will lose it. Nothing comes easily in life. If it was that easy, then you would have everything you want already. So get motivated and fight for your hopes and dreams. Don’t let a good opportunity slip out of your grip. Hold on tight and fight.
People always had an idea of me. And at times, they fell in love with it—or even despised it. They barely knew me so they ran off with their imagination and tried to fill in the missing blanks with whatever they pleased. And because they never got close, they’ll never know what truly lies...
