ngl, one of the reasons I took a break from tumblr was because looking through privilege politics every day was both extremely angering and obstructive to my political development. I’ve since formulated a very solid stance of how to approach topics of privilege so now when I see it, it won’t anger me as much (because I now have a response that makes sense), and I’ll be more likely to skip over shit that is simply bad politics not worth engaging, or even reading for that matter.

Hello yes I am here

So I've been away from tumblr for awhile. It's been liberating, to be honest. Not that I dislike tumblr or anything, but that by and large, tumblr is a rather toxic place politically. I think it can be engaging to many people when they first become political, but its individualistic nature as a reflection of late stage capitalism reinforces really awful postmodern (and related) politics. As a member of a political organization, I've committed myself to dedicating more time and energy to educating myself and building up the organization. Spending gratuitous amounts of time on tumblr seriously detracts from my ability to do such things. So I haven't forgotten about anyone nor do I dislike anyone here or any of that jazz, my hiatus has been almost solely for political reasons. I feel I've grown politically more in the past couple months than I have in the past year previous to that, and I don't find it to be coincidental, and I want to continue the trend.
