Isaac shrugged and grabbed a water, “It’s fine. It’s better than what would happen to you if you stayed out there anyway. And like I said, this house is just going to continue to sit here empty so, someone might as well use it..” Sitting down on the couch, he lets his head fall back as he closes his eyes and sighs, “Yeah there’s a few. There’s a pack here..multiple ones actually. Which makes for never having a dull moment in Beacon Hills. And I’m not entirely sure I’d call them ‘friends’, I mean..I’d like to it’s..complicated.”
Mark was impressed by the kindness of Isaac and how easily he brushed off his nice gesture. Mark didn’t think many people would have done the same thing for a stranger that Isaac did. But why didn’t he have many friends? What was so complicated about it? He was really curious about what that meant. He nodded quickly, not surprised to hear that there were other wolves around. He wondered what they were like. No real friends, no family apparently. Wasn’t it lonely? Even Mark sometimes got lonely. He had family but he didn’t fit in well with them and he certainly didn’t have any real friends either. “What do you do for fun around here?” He tried to switch the subject to something less depressing for the moment. “Do you have a girlfriend... boyfriend? Or is it just you all alone out here?”

Maybe Isaac just didn’t like the house because it was full of sad memories about his apparently dead father. That would make sense in a way. He smirked when Isaac agreed and mentioned that he was talking too much. “That’s fine with me,” he said. Mark had never learned how to drive a car so walking was alright with him.
Luckily, the bar wasn’t that far from the house. Especially considering his father could barely stand on his own two feet half the time when he left, let alone drive home. The walk was quiet for the most part, and it didn’t take the two long until they reached his house, his dad’s house..the house. Taking a deep breath, he opens the door, “After you..”
Mark did his best to stay quiet for the walk to the house, since that seemed to be what Isaac wanted. He didn’t want to annoy Isaac even though he was very curious about him. When they arrived, he stepped inside the house and looked around a little. The house itself didn’t seem so scary. He decided to help himself to some food before finding a place to sit down. He gazed at Isaac, trying to gauge his reaction to being in the house. “Thanks for letting me stay here,” he said. He lowered his hood and made himself comfortable now that they were alone together and safe. “Are there a lot of werewolves around here?” Usually that seemed to be the case, where there was one werewolf there would be others. “Friends?” Did Isaac have friends and a pack? A family? Was he a lone wolf?

Mark wasn’t so sure about this. It seemed strange to stay at this guy’s house while he stayed in the woods. “Will you come inside at least for a little while?” he asked. “We could talk where it’s safe. And then you could go run off into the woods after if you insist.” He had so many questions for Isaac. He was curious about the town and about Isaac and why he was so scared of the house.
Huffing out a breath, Isaac nods, “Fine. If it’ll get you to stop talking for a little while.” Standing up, he waves at the bartender who then comes over, “I really am sorry for your loss Isaac..” Saying nothing, he heads over to the door and walks out, “Hopefully you don’t mind walking, because I walked here. and unless you have a car, we’re continuing on foot.”

Mark frowned. “In the woods? Really?” Didn’t Isaac just warn him about how dangerous this place was but now he wanted to go stay in the woods for the night? “I don’t know if that’s a good idea. I’d feel bad knowing you were out there alone in the woods where anything could happen to you.” How could he rest easy in that house knowing Isaac was staying in the woods after making such a kind offer to him?
“I’ve got used to it. It’s been my getaway for a long time now. It’s my home away from home if I’m being honest. I know what to look and watch out for. Worse comes to worse, I’ll go back home. But to be honest, it’s a very unlikely chance that I will, and not just because you’re there. And come on, werewolves..woods..it’s practically where we’re supposed to be anyway.”

Well Isaac was certainly full of surprises, that was for sure. “That’s… really nice of you.” Though maybe the house was kind of creepy. It seemed that way with the mysterious bedroom and Isaac’s eagerness to offer it up to a total stranger. “You wouldn’t be staying there?” he asked. “Do you live close by?” He was wary of Isaac’s offer but also not quite ready to say goodbye to him. He wanted to know more about this place and Isaac was his best bet for that.
“I’m not a big fan of that house anymore. And I’ll find some place else to stay, if not I’ll stay in the woods. I’ve done it before, it’s peaceful.” And it was..on the nights when nothing crazy was happening, and people weren’t getting killed. “Besides, I’d rather you stay in it then have you go somewhere where you can get attacked or worse..” Shrugging, he focuses back on his drink, “I just went to the store a couple of days ago, so you should have food there.”

“Someone like me…” Mark said, chuckling a little. “You don’t know anything about me.” Besides, he wasn’t exactly flaunting what he was. No one saw anything. He had made sure no one was looking. This Isaac guy was so extreme. Mark was pretty sure no one was following him, hunters or otherwise. He wasn’t stupid. “Are there any good places to stay around here? I need a place to crash for the night.” He decided it was best to try to change the subject for the moment at least.
Isaac groaned and pulled out his house keys, placing them onto the bar, “Stay at my dad’s place..he doesn’t need it anymore that’s for sure.” His old house was full of memories and things he never wanted to face again. And now that his dad was dead, he had no reason to go back there and see anything..relive anything. “Just don’t go into the bedroom at the end of the hall upstairs..it’s locked anyway but still. Feel free to roam the rest of the house, I don’t care.”

Mark was again caught off guard by Isaac’s rather extreme reactions. He pulled his hood back up to make Isaac feel better. He was very interested by that last thing Isaac said, that there were a lot of not normal people in this town. Mark was very curious to see what the town was like for himself. “I can handle myself,” Mark assured him. “Try to relax a little. Do you need more to drink?” He gave him a warm smile, trying to help him calm down. “Or maybe you want to get out of here? We can go somewhere more private if that would make you feel better.”
Isaac rolled his eyes and sipped his drink, ‘I could drink every single thing in this bar and it won’t do a thing for me. But believe me, I’m relaxed, I just don’t think it’s smart for someone like you to come here and flaunt that you’re something supernatural. It wouldn’t surprise me if hunters were already on you, following your every move. And what would make me feel better is not having to see someone else die because of what they are so.”

MARK:
Mark found some nice clothes to wear and did his best to tame his curls, which had begun to grow out some since his haircut. He didn’t think he needed to impress her but it seemed appropriate to try to look presentable for a nice evening together. He smiled when he greeted her, clearly happy to see her. “Ready?” he asked her, holding out his hand to her.
Cristina had smiled when she met eyes with Mark’s odd pair, feeling a soft burst of warmth bloom inside of her chest at the sight of Mark’s appearance. It made her smile to see that he had put effort in to his look - not that he needed to. She reached out her hand for his, taking a step towards him and meeting him face to face. She gave a small nod, releasing a soft breath from her nose. “Of course” she grinned “We can start off with easy steps - one, two, three four in a box.”
Mark felt happy and relaxed in her presence. All of his troubles and worries seemed far away right now. It made him feel more at home here to have a friend like her. He focused on what she telling him. “Sounds good,” he agreed, nodding quickly. He hoped that he didn’t embarrass himself.
isaac-lahey-14:
When Mark lowered his hood, Isaac’s eyes widened before quickly looking around to make sure no one was looking, “You can’t do that!” He basically growled, “This town..people here..” Shaking his head, he slides over closer to him, “All you need, is one person noticing that you’re..different. You’ll be hunted in two seconds, then murdered the next. It’s clear you know things about the supernatural, but it’s also clear you don’t know much about this town. A lot of people that I’ve cared about have died trying to keep us safe, so for you to sit there and act like what you are is normal..is messed up. There’s a lot of not normal people here..so just be careful what you do.”

Mark was a little caught off guard by how rude the stranger was and the serious tone of his warning. It wasn’t exactly scaring him off though. He was only growing more curious.
“Nice to meet you, Isaac,” he said, ignoring the rudeness. He gazed at Isaac for a moment, studying him. “What are you?” he asked. “Werewolf?” he guessed. He hadn’t been around many werewolves in his life but knew what he’d been told about them. “What’s so dangerous about this town?”
Isaac quickly turned and finally looked at Mark before forcing out a laugh, “Werewolf? Are you serious? You know those things don’t exist right?” Shaking his head, he returns his focus back on his drink and chugs it before quickly ordering another one, “The question is, what isn’t so dangerous about this town? We’ve had so many..serial killers here, it’s like everyone that wants to go on a murder spree..comes here. So again, unless you want to be next..you should go.”
Mark rolled his eyes when the stranger tried to deny what he was. It was silly really. And a waste of time. Mark didn’t want to play any games. He felt like he was onto something here. Serial killers, murder, and werewolves. This had gotten interesting.
He lowered his hood, showing off his short blond curls and his pointed ears. No one seemed to be paying attention, at least for the moment, so he figured it was safe enough to reveal himself. Humans tended to explain away things that didn’t make sense and would sometimes joke about his ears being fake. But they were very real and he wanted this stranger to know that. He wanted the stranger to be honest with him. Now that his curiosity was peaked he couldn’t let this go.
“I don’t get scared off easily,” he said.
