He DECIDES not to mention the very first thing that POPS in his head, which is that Lev’s EYE-LEVEL sails CLEAN over Tendou’s HEAD, so he’s not sure if little kitty really truly applies as a nickname. He’s gotten better on BITING down on the first thought - it had taken him a few dozen kicks to the shin, but Lev’s getting BETTER. 

“RIGHT away! This’ll be really fun!” Unaware of what PAIN AWAITS him, Lev bounces from foot to foot. 

“And right, right, sorry, dumb question! But since you have that really big guy on your team … and I’ve heard from my captain that you guys usually set to him, no matter what? Something about BRUTAL FORCE or whatever! So you probably don’t spike that often, do you?”

Okay maybe it was a little annoying how much taller Lev was, but Tendou didn’t particularly care. Little kitty was more of a reference to Lev’s naivety and youth than his size. Little meant that Lev wasn’t a threat in Tendou’s mind. Though, with a bit of tutelage with that height, Lev could be a real threat. That would be fun to watch given Nekoma was unlikely to make it to nationals in Tendou’s mind. Well Tendou wasn’t going to voice that thought... Not yet at least.

“Oh I’m sure it’ll be a great deal of fun.” Just wait until Tendou blocked those tall spikes. It would certainly be a great bit of fun. 

Redirecting to the thought of Ushijima, Tendou grinned. He was quite proud of their team captain, the lovely wonder boy of their team. “Of course we do. Isn’t that what an ace is supposed to be? Someone you can always set to and trust that he’ll break through whatever stands in his path. He has the complete trust of everyone on our team. In a pinch, he’ll always score.”

The drip drip drip of rain caught his attention right before the sky opened up and suddenly there was rain pouring down around him. In a matter or seconds the blond was soaked to the bone and ducking into the nearest place to try and stay dry. Nearest place just happened to be a photo booth. “At least I’m out of the rain.”

Ah the rain was nice to see and nice to listen to, but annoying to be walking around in. Tendou didn’t want to get soaked, so he’d taken refuge in in a photo booth. Imagine his surprise when someone else entered it. Jumping a bit, Tendou scowled seeing one of his fearsome enemies in the photo booth. Cocking his head to the side though, his scowl smoothed out into a smirk, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “Ooooh the boring crow. Not a fan of a little water? It ruffle your wings?” 

Maybe he could have a bit of fun while waiting for the rain to calm down.

     He’s about to stomp away if this guy keeps this up. Staying behind after practice was the worst decision he’s made in awhile.  He has to get out of here. Either that or find a quick way to calm himself. Composure, that’s what he needs. Just don’t think about it. Ever again. Imagine a ball being spiked into this redhead’s face. Yes, perfect. It’s enough to relax him completely. Well, pretty much.

“Hmmm... No-pe.” Tendou popped the p before continuing. “You’re not a demon. You’re not chaotic enough. If you’re anything you’re a devil. Much more lawful and no less evil.”

Tendou couldn’t and wouldn’t deny that he was enthusiastic about bothering the other so much as he continued cleaning. Pushing the brush along and humming a soft tune that’d been stuck in his head all day, Tendou looked more serious for a moment, focusing on the work before looking back to Yaku. “You wanted to talk about volleyball, right?”

Biting directly into the popsicle and not wincing at the cold, Tendou gave his usual smile to the other. “Nice to meet ‘cha.” Looking up to the sky, Tendou wondered how the other would react if he were to just walk off. There wasn’t much for him to do today. He’d already read the new chapter of the manga he’d been following. Of course he could’ve studied, but that was boring. “You live around here?”

“I’m not gonna be SCARED once I see it!” He BOASTED, chest rising with a quick breath. He had faced Kuroo, and he had been told that his own blocking is PRETTY GOOD, so it couldn’t be that bad, right? 

“All right, all right! I’ll just have to check with my CAPTAIN, but I’d like to do some practice together! Do you spike as well? I probably need to work on my own blocking, and you can help!”

“You can say that all you want little kitty.” Tendou smirked, entirely unphased by the other’s comments. Of course one so young as Lev would have that kind of confidence. Tendou looked forward to putting it in check. It would be an interesting experiment. Would the other break or become stronger? Or... perhaps both... It would be interesting to watch and see if his heart would break. 

“Just let me know and we can get to practicing.” Tendou gave Lev a look like he was stupid. “Of course I spike. What middle blocker never spikes?”

Dabi inwardly growled at the other who kept speaking to him as he sighed to himself as the other kept speaking to him and began acting as if they were friends. The male looked over at Tendou once more, "No. Now leave."

“Oh wow you do talk sometimes.” Tendou sat next to Dabi, not really caring about the way the other growled and looked just generally pissy. He was used to people treating him like that anyway. “I still might come up with another nickname for you. Everyone seems freaked out by your whole ‘boo I’m scary and go by Dabi’ thing.”

Dabi looked over at the male once more as he sat down before ignoring him completely once again. He’d leave when he wanted to, this was his claimed spot after all.

So the guy wasn’t taking the bait or feeling chatty. That was of no consequence to Tendou. He was good at getting people to talk, or to at least react to his prodding. Hence why he held his quirk active. Just in case the guy decided to lash out, Tendou wanted to be prepared. “Hmmm I heard a lot of people call you Dabi. Is it cool if I call you Dabs? Stay completely silent if we’re bestest friends ever and I have full permission to call you whatever I want.”
