Inspired by Freegums
I follow i am OTHER, something that Pharrell put together, on Facebook. There was this video. Framed in a long landscape format, not the traditional 16:9 ratio, that filled about 1/3 of my screen just in the middle. The top and bottom were just black. They featured this artist, Freegums, in a video at first just walking with his dog on this trail. Then, they showed his work, patterns, collages, so detailed and intricately fitting next to each other. He said something that made me think of Mt. Near. He looks at architecture, form, geology, shapes, that add up to create a hill, a mountain, a structure. I think I want that melding of these seemingly different worldsāthe wilderness and the city. Maybe what incredible thing we can find in the city, itās there in the wilderness. And whatās incredible in the wilderness, we can find in the city. I want these two intricacies to meet.
ājust by walking down a path so many times, you start to create a trailā -freegums
