âDo I need to know whatâs been going on or can I just assume itâs bad?â
âWhen arenât things bad, Stiles?â
Malia Tate + traits (insp.)
and keep your heart strong.
The fox looked at the girl, recognizing her to be Malia. One of Kiraâs friends. âOf course I did,â The vixen stated. âNow are you gonna stand there and stare or are you gonna ick rocks because Iâm sure there are more friends of theirs on the way,â
She quirked an inquisitive brow. âKick rocks? Who even says that?â She snorted and rolled her eyes. âI can handle myself, fox. Iâd much rather kick ass than rocks.â She muttered, moving towards her and flicking out her claws. âAre you going to let me help or do I have to kick your ass, too? I donât need that on my conscience, too.â
âI can live a little,â Kira said defensively. âFine, Iâll take your advice,â
âReally? Couldâve fooled me.â Malia said with a smirk. âAs you should.â
He wouldâve rolled his eyes if he could have. Way to not piss off the unknown creature, Malia. If he could talk, he wouldâve scolded her but instead, he found himself biting his tongue. If she got them into too much trouble, heâd shift back and calm the situation.
âYou must not known who I am or you wouldnât be talking to me like that,â He stated. âElijah Mikaelson. One of the Originals. A family of the first vampires. And you are?â
âRespect isnât simply given. Itâs earned and thatâs true, even in the wild.â Her thoughts flashed back to her conversation with Hope. âWait... Youâre related to Hope, right? I donât mean that in a threatening way. Itâs just.... I met her at a bar and we got to talking and apparently, our dads could get along or something...â Honestly, she didnât see her father getting along wtih anyone or anything but what did she know? âIâm Malia Tate and this is my cousin, Derek Hale. Our family has been the guardians of Beacon Hills for generations... Or something.â She wrinkled her nose and kneeled down to remove the collar from around her cousinâs neck. âAnyways, that didnât answer my question. What are you? I got the Original part... But Original what?â
Derek snorted and bristled, glaring at Malia as if to say, really?! That was the best she could come up with? His cousin had been hanging around Stiles too much. Still, he found himself somewhat thankful for her presence, no matter how annoying.
Elijah looked between the girl and the wolf watching in mischief as she put a collar on the wolf. âFunny⌠I havenât seen an RV around here,â He stated. ânow⌠you want to tell me why two werewolves are on Crescent Pack territory,â
She nudged Derek and gave the leash a gentle tug, almost as if to shut him up. âFirst, weâre not both werewolves. Second, learn the difference between a werecoyote and a werewolf. Third, what the hell are you, anyways?â She wrinkled her nose. âAnd weâre not here to cause trouble. Weâre on vacation. As long as youâre not out for world domination or all for harming innocent people, weâve got no beef with you.â
With Malia raising Cain and doing things Derek probably didnât want to envision his little cousin doing, he felt like he needed to go on a run and for once, he decided not to show any restraint. What he didnât anticipate, however, was for somebody to come creeping up on him. Turning to face the potential threat, he bared his canines and a snarl rumbled in the depths of his chest.
Elijah didnât recognize the werewolf that had been in the Crescent Wolf Pack territory. âYou donât belong here and we both know it,â
âBlue, I told you not to go running off!â Malia chided, jogging up to the pair with what could only be described as a sheepish smile. What were the chances this man knew differently? She knew he wasnât human, but she also didnât know just what in the hell he was and if she could, sheâd nip the problem in the bud. âIâm so sorry if he caused any trouble. I had him on a leash but he escaped. Entirely my fault.â She flashed a pretty, little smile and pulled a collar out of her messenger bag, kneeling down to put it around her cousinâs neck. âIf youâve got no objections, I should probably get back to the RV before my dad starts to worry.â It was a lie but she hoped it wasnât an obvious one.
The fox yelled out a battle cry in Japanese, fighting off the men in the bar before she heard someone behind her. She turned, eyes blazing orange. âAre youâre foolish enough to think that would work?â She stated in Japanese.
âI just wanted to help...â Malia said with a small pout, noticing the aggressive stance that Kira had taken. Now that Derek had caught her in a bar, she wasnât supposed to go back, but he wasnât her father so naturally, she chose not to listen to whatever bullshit came spilling out of his mouth. âBut it looks like youâve got everything handled...â She said with a smirk.
âArenât you too young to be drinking?â Derek asked, lifting a brow. Why the hell was he the one doing this when Peter shouldâve had a handle on his own child? âWhere the hellâs your dad, kid?â He asked, snatching her glass from her. âNo more drinking until youâre twenty-one, at least.â He finished off what was in her glass and set it down on the counter, grabbing her by the arm. âUntil your father shows up, youâre going to be bunking with me in the Bayou, seeing as how you canât be trusted not to break the laws of the land whilst on your own. Next time, use some common sense.â He grumbled.
She rolled her eyes like a petulant child and began to pout. âBut Derek...â She protested, deciding it best to not argue for the time being. What was she going to do against her cousin? She could try kicking his ass but considering the fact he had more experience than her, she doubted sheâd win and besides, she didnât want to cause unnecessary tension with the two family members she had left... Well, the ones she counted, in any case. âCommon sense, huh? Like you grabbing a girl in the bar by the arm and demanding that she come with you?â She smirked. âOkay.âÂ
Jo gave the girl a questioning look before speaking. âI was going to ask if you wanted another drink before the bar closed.â she asked gesturing to the empty glass.
She groaned and leaned her head back for a moment. Peter was probably going to kill her for staying out so late and drinking like a damned fish. âItâs closing time, already, huh?â She inquired, quirking a brow. âWell, sure, Iâd love that last, parting drink.â Sheâd been drinking since arriving at the bar sometime after 5 PM and didnât show any signs of drunkenness but then again, she hadnât necessarily had a lot. Most of her time spent at the bar was spent thinking about other things and nursing drink after drink. Because her body metabolized things so quickly, it was impossible for her to get drunk or high, and the latter sucked, especially when all you wanted to do was forget.
âIâm gonna step on your toes. I can feel it will happen,â Kira joked, even if it was true. âI guess so. Just one night of fun,â
âOnly one night? Weâre in the Big Easy, Kira. Let your hair down and live a little.â She smirked, nudging her friend playfully. âOr, you could be a stick in the mud... Your choice.â She teased, trying to hide a smile.
âYeah and I knew Theo was evil but who the hell listened to me?â Stiles pointed out before flailing. âStop it.â
âNobody. Naturally.â Malia quirked a brow, tilting her head to the side as a smirk tugged at her lips. âStop what?â She asked innocently.
