Some specific confession blogs can be insanely biased towards certain takes that lead more towards Byler/Pro Will/Pro Mike. I am often cautious about this so when I make a confession I also post it on my blog incase it gets deleted by the moderator.

I’ve been lucky with one specific blog who posts my takes regardless of what they may contain but I’m still anxious of getting my takes deleted and ignored so i also make a post on my blog.

Some people in the stranger things fandom will claim they aren’t homophobic for shipping a queer ship because they’re queer themselves but are you really queer if you choose hetslop over queer relationships?

Aside from the obvious I think that Harringrove is a shallow relationship as it’s obvious it’s one of those ships that only exist as people want the two conventionally attractive men to be together regardless of their canon dynamic. many Harringroves went to Steddie and then Stonathan as they were the Steve and male companion relationship of the season and rather than interact with the canon queer male character/s they’d jump through leaps and hoops to show that Steve/Billy/Eddie/Jonathan are queer coded characters while ignoring canon attraction they’ve shown to women. while I enjoy gay ships and some of these ones i think it’s a bit disheartening on how Steve centred the fandom is while characters such as Will are ignored because their queerness is unconventional and not easy to romanticise. a lot of content for those steve ships are also incredibly fetishistic but despite this they gain immense traction and are incredibly popular which all comes at the expense of ignoring canon queer rep.

Milevens will demonise Will for not defending El against her bullies (when he has no obligation to help her especially when she’s essentially the reason his childhood ended) while ignoring the fact that the other characters have also all done bad things to each other. el who’s murdered many people with her powers is this angel who can do wrong but god forbid Will isn’t nice to her when she’s part of the reason on why him and Mikes relationship fell apart….

A lot of byler antis want to feel a sense of moral superiority over byler shippers which is why they are so desperate to make us look as if we aren’t progressive through clinging onto ships such as henclair, byclair,wheelerson and even gay mileven. not to say that you can’t ship these things but too many of fans of these ships hold a sense of superiority over byler because they want to make it seem as if they are outdoing us through terms of being progressive. while henclair byclair wheelerson are cute ships many people only ship them to be performative as a gotcha against byler shippers.

It’s devastating how most Will ships are tied down to Lonnie through the use of his surname. even in fandom culture we can’t escape the impact that Lonnie has had on Will.

Byler,Bychance,Byclair and Byerson all contain the surname that Will got from Lonnie. there’s no escape from him reflecting on how Will will always be affected by Lonnie.

A lot of bychance shippers fetishise queer people but hold moral superiority over mikes and mike stans claiming that their fanon character is a better partner to Will than Mike is when Chance in canon is a bully while Mike biked all the way across town to apologise to Will.
