So I rewatched Gravity Falls for the first time after going through a rough start this year, and I remembered a short comic I really wanted to do after the series ended. HERE’S THE, UM, PROLOGUE. I GUESS. 

It’s based on the premise that Stan doesn’t immediately remember everything after the end of the show, and the comic will deal with the consequnces of him remembering Bill some years later. I’d like to continue this - it’s pretty much just my own spin on “bill comes back”, because I’m a creature of self-indulgence and you’ll never take me alive, officer.

“gravity falls summer camp au. like instead of living in this creepy town the whole summer all the kids are just being sent to the same camp. dipper, mabel, candy, grenda, pacifica, and gideon are all campers, along with the rest of the random child bg characters. wendy, robbie, and the rest of their friendgroup are counselors. soos is the handyman/cook. mcgucket is the janitor. stan runs the place. bill is the subject of an urban legend centered around the camp.” -me, yesterday morning

the camp is called “camp twin pines” but everyone calls it “camp cipher” instead because of The Legend of the Beast With One Eye, which tells of a malevolent demon that haunts those who become too curious for their own good.. its also the name of the au. camp cipher. tell your friends

*SLAMS MY ENTIRE FACE ON MY DESK* IT’S PURPLE

I’ve never made a post about it, but hoo boy, tons of really important scenes had either red or blue lighting.

My absolute FAVORITE of which being Stan and Ford’s fight, 30 odd years ago:

The lights are clashing, just like the Stans.

But as the fight starts to end, they move away from the red light into predominantly blue light, although the red is still present.

And when Ford’s gone, there’s no red light left at all. Stan, as well as the blue lighting, are alone.

I’m too sugar crashed to tell the difference between red and blue lightings’ specific (respective) meanings throughout the series, but they both represent a problem. I never made a post about this scene because I was always trying to think of which Stan each color could represent, but now it’s so OBVIOUS. The blue and red lighting don’t represent people, they represent conflict. That even matches up with other Stans-less scenes with color lighting throughout the series.

For the show to end on purple lighting, the coming together of red and blue lighting, right after the two clashing brothers came together…. 

I’m pretty dang pleased about this.

February 15th, 2015: Oh wow! Gravity Falls is finally over! Man that was good.. Time to move on with my life!

One year ago today...

Gravity Falls ended. But since that year, we made Journal 3 a New York Times Bestseller, we’ve raised thousands of dollars in charity streams, we went on a treasure hunt around the world, and we kept the fandom very alive. Gravity Falls may have ended, but one year later it’s still not over
