something i find interesting about zomst is how people don't really see them as threat.

In the underground marketplace blackmarket thing, there's no muzzle or gag put on the zombie so they can still easily bite the people that are casually standing around them. The fact that they're 80% shows how there's no shortage of zombies being sold.

The fact that a zombie is just casually strolling in an urban area shows how little protection/prevention measures are in place.

When Mizi gets bit, there's only two lines of police tape, making it easy for anyone to sneak in. The guy who's supposed to keep watch is asleep and there are no other guards around to make sure no one sneaks in or a zombie sneaking out. Mizi is being held down by only duct tape (most likely after being knocked out) and once again, there's no muzzle/gag in sight to prevent her from biting anyone.

Most obviously, the existence of zomst itself and the fact that zombified celebrities have their parts auctioned off.

This is probably a metaphor for the entertainment industry. How people are dehumanised and get reduced to an object by the corporations to make it easier to sell to the public (like a toaster), and by the public themselves, projecting whatever narrative they want onto that person.
