Itโd be a long time since Law had a nightmare about his childhood. His parents and sister lay lifeless on the piles of bodies in the streets of Flevance. Almost everyone in the nation had been murdered by the government because of the disease the same government had inflicted on them. Everyone but him.
The doctor almost bolted up from his sleep. Sweat came from his pores as he gained his surroundings. He was in the captainโs quarters of his sub. Slowly moving under the water of the grand line. He ran his tatted hands over his face and looked down at the covers.
โLaw?โ Y/n called next to him
โSorry, didnโt mean to wake you,โ Law answered as she sat up next to him
โYou okay?โ Y/n kissed the tattoo on his shoulder
Theyโd been together for almost a year now and he still hadnโt told her about his past. Too scared about what she would think of his past. The white lead disease that destroyed his nation. His family.
โYeah. Iโm okay.โ
โItโs freezing cold and you're swearing bulletโs, Law.โ
He couldnโt lie to her. He had done before they were together about some of the stuff he had done to other pirates but now. She knew how to read people extremely well and how to analyze a situation better than him.
โHad a nightmare,โ Law told her after a beat
Y/n hummed in response, kissing his cheek and pulling him back down onto the mattress with her. She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into her chest. Law expected a few questions he would have to maybe vaguely answer, but not this. He wrapped his arms around her and relaxed into her embrace.
โWhatever it was about, just remember itโs either not real or over with,โ Y/n told him
Over with. She was right, he wasnโt that little kid that was persecuted just for being sick by the same government that made him and his nation sick to begin with.
โIt was about my family,โ Law said
โHeart Pirates family orโฆโ
โMy parents and sister.โ Law sat them both up again and pulled her into his lap. โHave you ever heard of White Lead disease?โ
โYeah but I thought the government found the cure for that?โ
โThey did. It was murdering everyone in Flevance and apparently covering it up.โ
โHowโd you get away?โ Y/n asked, putting the pieces together
โHide under bodies until I was sure the Marines were gone. I looked for my parents and sister just to find them in a pile of bodies. I got off the island and found my way to the Donquixote pirates.โ
โWait, you were part of Doflomingoโs family?โ
โYeah. Not for long. I was smuggled out by a friend who happened to be his brother. He took to me to hospitals everywhere trying to find a cure for me before I died.โ
โIs that who Cora is? You mutter the name sometimes,โ Y/n said
โYeah. He got the Op Op fruit and had forced me to eat it. He was killed not long after but not before he managed to get me out of Doflomingoโs grasp.โ
Y/n leaned forward and pecked the captain's lips. โIโm glad you trust me enough to tell me this.โ
โYouโre the only one who knows about it besides Bepo, Sachi, and Penguin.โ
โHowโd you cure yourself?โ Y/n asked as they laid back down
โCut it out.โ Law stated
โYourself?โ
โYeah.โ
โI really donโt understand the stuff you do sometimes, Trafalgar Law,โ Y/n sighed

โWhat?โ
โTragalar D. Water Law. Full name.โ
โYou're sharing a lot tonight, anything else I should know before I pass out?โ
โNo. Go back to sleep,โ Law told her and pecked her lips, pulling her into him.
The doctors wasnโt all too surprised when they woke up still entangled the next morning. Hearing Sachi and Penguin yelling about something with Bepo.
โGood morning Water Law,โ Y/n smiled at him, โanymore nightmares?โ
โNo. No more after the one,โ Law sat up and stretched
โWhat was your sister's name?โ Y/n asked
โLammy,โ Law smiled, remembering his younger sister. โShe would have liked you a lot.โ
โWas she like you? All moody and serious,โ Y/n teased him
โIโm not moody,โ Law told her
Y/n giggled next to him before getting up out of his bed, โWhatever you say. Iโm going to make sure Sachi and Penguin arenโt killing each other or anyone else.โ
Even if his nightmares werenโt completely gone, he knew he could rely on someone during the night. He could rely on people, a lesson he still was learning, but he was getting much better. Smiling as he joined his crew for breakfast.
