The horse thinks as it scratches an itch

on the one hand: i do fluctuate across the spectrum and sometimes i'm close enough to the middle that they/them would probably be comfy in a vacuum

on the other hand: lots of people already diet-misgender trans women because they don't want to sound transphobic but they're more comfortable with de-gendering us than acknowledging us as real women, so now i take a point of psychic damage every time i hear someone use they/them for me

I imagine rocky puts grace's amnesia problems down as a "probably normal for humans, they forget stuff all the time" thing for a while and it doesn't set in until maybe a year into the erid trip that, no, losing straight up All of your memories for several months is just about as concerning and unusual for a human as it would be for an eridian. and his immediate reaction is twofold: 1. "you. you were that brain-unhealthy for the entire time we were working together and you just. barely ever mentioned it? Why. Question." 2.
