You cannot imagine how thankful am I for all your Zanewake fanart you get their dynamics SO well. I'm really surprised there's not so much content with them in the fandom like their relationship is so interesting to explore and they definitely had some freaky shit going on in that hotel room. The idea came from an RP of theirs in which priest Alan befriends Zane, but Zane is possessed by a demon, Scratch, who uses Alan's fondness for Zane against him.
