I got spark! It seems like my magneto rebuild on this 68 year old engine has actually worked. Great spark, considering this is hand cranking the engine only a third of a turn. Back to fixing old engines again. Particularly therapeutic I find - I should perhaps consider recording a video? Todays task was to replace an old coil, a condenser, points and have a deep clean of the magneto. Maybe this repair will last another 68 years? Merry Christmas! This year (for the few gifts I had to get) I mostly managed to avoid buying from big retail stores. For my parents, I made them this bird table. It has a real slate roof and can either hang from a tree or be fixed to a post. My own design. Before it got too dark (and before #stormbella tomorrow), we got it mounted on its post. An eerily quiet and motionless location, completely dominated by the Snowdonia mountains. Many of the headstones in the churchyard are hand carved in traditional Welsh slate.
