((Been gone a long time, now restructuring to fit Smash Nationâs new format. This blog will no longer be the primary location for roleplaying, as Iâm switching to chat-based. The Ultimate Present: A Christmas Scavenger Hunt!

As Toon Link continued his swayed walk, hearing Sonic follow behind him. He was trying to imagine what sort of end this scavenger hunt would have, but he couldnât come up with anything specific. Even still, it was a challenge! He liked that part alone.
Hearing Sonic groan behind him, he first turned to look, but didnât see him there. Not even a second later, though, Sonic was in front of him, taking his hand, which surprised him a little.
âThe fast lane? Is it safe, but fun?â he asked, curiously, eyes wide at Sonic.
Yâknow⌠he kinda forgot how nice it was to hear peopleâs reactions to when he decided to take them on a supersonic ride. He wasnât really sure if Toon Link had caught on to what he was planning on doing just yet. The blue hedgehog had to chuckle as his smirk grew wider.Â
âIt is! If you hang on tight!âÂ
âReady to go at the speed of sound?!?â
Toon Link quickly nodded at Sonic, using his free hand to shove the note into his pocket, then hold onto his hat. He wouldnât want to lose that on the way. He gulped down a nervous thought, before lowering his eyebrows and nodding more confidently.
The nod was all the runner needed. His smirk turned into a grin instantly, and once he knew that the kid was prepared and settled, emerald eyes once again looked forward â ready to go. Red sneakers, once still, were suddenly revved up in a figure-8-like-but-sideways motion, growing faster and faster with the halves of seconds that went past. All it took was about six, for Sonic to be a nice pilot and tell his passenger that they were about to take off.Â
âHereâŚ! WeâŚ!
GO!!âÂ
â And they were off! While it wasnât the fastest the hedgehog could go, it was certainly enough. The green, grassy fields and the blue, clear sky becoming less easy to spot and more of a blur of color as the two rushed through the island. The sights didnât change that much, but what was a change as it went was Sonicâs movements and momentum. As he ran, the blue blur went just slightly more faster than he started, and made a few, smooth shifts to the left and right as they went for about⌠a minute. That was it. Just a minute and they had arrived at the World Garden. With a skid that kicked up some grass in itâs wake, Sonic made sure to have a tight grip on Toon Linkâs hand as they came to their stop. Safety first, after all!Â
âThank you for running with the Fastest Thing Alive â please make sure you have all personal objects, or have any idea if theyâll be found on the way back as you let go of the super-fast hedgehog. Please only let go of said super-fast hedgehog once youâre sure your feet are firmly on the ground and that you wonât have a hard time walking, trip, or lose your lunch afterwards. If you feel like either things will happen, feel free to stay close to the hedgehog for support, but we hope you will run with us again, and welcome to the World Garden~.âÂ
Toon Link let out a yelp as Sonic burst forward, hardly able to let out another sound as he was pulled along at speeds previously thought impossible. This was crazy!
When Sonic stopped, Toon Link waddled back and forth a bit, trying to find his balance. His eyes were googled, bouncing all around in his little daze. After a short few moments, he shook his head and collected himself. It was a bit crazier than the hurricane spin, but in the end, it wasnât something he couldnât handle.
Once he felt okay to do so, he gave a short bow to Sonic, then gave a short snicker as he turned back towards the World Garden. âSo the next step is in there?â
Aahhh, it was always fun seeing someone new to his speed have their first taste of it. The reactions were always worth it. Not being able to walk after wasnât anything new, and there had been worse reactions, but seeing the Hero of Wind (or⌠whatever his title was.) of all people stumble around was pretty funny. He stood there and chuckled as he waited for him to adjust.
âQuite a ride, huh~?â He said with laughter in his tone. The cute little bow Toon Link gave him after was the icing on the cake! âHa!âÂ
When Toon Link faced the World Garden, so did Sonic. Emerald eyes eyed the structure with the smile upon his muzzle not leaving in the slightest. When the green-capped swordsman asked for hints, the other hero of blue fur simply just put his arms behind his head and left one eye open, looking at the little kiddo.Â
âWell, if youâre right it is!âÂ
âIâm not givinâ you any hints here, LilâLink! Weâll just have to wait and see!!âÂ
With a shrug with his hands, the hedgehog walked up to the structure at a pace that Toon Link could follow on his own. Luckily, it wasnât as far away as it was before. Maybe now Sonic could put up with walking? Well, that was something theyâd have to see, too!Â
Before the blue hedgehog made it inside, he turned his head over his shoulder to make sure his little friend was following!
Toon Link watched curiously as Sonic took the lead towards the World Garden, before nodding his head and following suit. He kept at a steady, excitable pace as he approached the World Garden.Â
âI know Iâll find something here, then!â he beamed, heading inside.

Rp with Wind-Waking-Hero: A Home for Shelly
Toon Link carefully poured until it reached the depth Meta Knight suggested, before pulling back and peering into the tank. He began to reach for the leaf litter and nearby decorations.
âDo you think Shelly will like this when itâs all done?â he asked, looking back at Meta Knight, watching him investigate the humidifier.Â
âI think so; I know youâve been taking care of them as best you can, but Iâm sure theyâre ready to have more space.â Meta knight finishes getting pieces set up and gets up to fill it with water. âMake sure when youâre setting those decorations up to leave some room for the food dish; we want Shelly to be able to access it easily.â
Toon Link hummed a couple notes as he placed the decorated the tank for Shelly. He placed some rocks, a fake sunken pirate ship, and a small hollow log. He specifically left room for a food dish right next to the log.
âIs this good?â he asked, looking over at Meta Knight.
âI got a super cool new toy!â

Toon Link nodded a few times to Tetsuya, mostly to answer the returning questions, but also to show he was listening. He saw Tetsuya slowly look happier, and that was a good feeling. Toon Link liked spreading joy.
He was a bit surprised to be allowed to ask anything as well, leaving him wondering of a question for a few moments.
âWell, whatâs it like being a mayor of a town? What kind of things do ya do?â
â Whatâs it like beinâ mayor, hmm? â Tetsuya hummed for a moment, beads of sweat dropping down his forehead. â Itâs pretty.. Interestinâ to say the least. â Running a hand through his hair, the brunette couldnât help but let out a chuckle or two.
â In all honesty, itâs a lottaâ work. âSpecially for someone like me. Yâsee, we got this thing called public works projects. Itâs like adding something to the town, like a bench or a fountain, but it costâs a whole lottaâ bells. Then thereâs the museum.. Whole other story, broski. â A soft sigh passed through his lips a he spoke, trying his best to keep the mood cheery.
â But it can be pretty great, seeing people enjoy all I do for the town. â He grinned, hands slipping into his pockets.
âThat sounds great, how much you do to for your town! It must be a big responsibility...but it seems like you can handle it well!â
Starter for Wind-Waking-Hero: Jousting Match
As soon as Toon Link saw Meta Knight move backwards, he dashed forward, thrusting out his hookshot to grab his opponent, hoping to toss him into the air with a quick slash.
He moved quickly, sliding a short distance along the floor as he did this. If his hookshot missed, heâd not only be left open, but also right in front of Meta Knight.
Meta knight is yanked towards Toon Link by the hootshotâs claws, and immediately takes to squirming free. Thereâs enough timeâŚif he can get out, Toon Link will be open.
âŚHas the kid been practicing his grabbing combos?
Success! Meta Knight was pulled in. Toon Link didnât want to waste any time to let Meta Knight escape--heâd done that to opponents before, accidentally letting them escape while he tried to pummel them.
As soon as he had solid hold over Meta Knight, he let out a grunt as he tossed him up into the air, before following up with a swing of his sword, which further pushed him higher.
Making a small leap into the air below Meta Knight, Toon Link pointed his blade upwards, hoping to land another hit.
Rp with Wind-Waking-Hero: A Home for Shelly
âOh, okay Meta Knight!â Toon Link chimed, now attempting to tear open the soil bag. Once Meta Knight finished cleaning, Toon Link moved up towards the tank, and slowly began to pour the dirt into it.
âHow much should go in?â he asked, still pouring slowly.
âFill it so that the substrate is about an inch and a half deep.â Meta knight turns his attention to the humidifier. âOnce you do that we can put some leaf litter and decorations in the tank.â
Itâs still warm out, so the heater isnât necessary to install at this point; maybe when autumn rolls around Meta knight will help set that up. Right now he needs to get the humidifier set up so that the snail would have a properly wet climate. This would also mean Toon Link would just have to refill it every other day instead of spraying the snailâs entire cage every morning and night.
The Pink Villager had explained to him how it worked; assemble it, fill it up, put the tube into the tank and let it sit for a while before putting the snail in. It shouldnât be too difficult.
âOnce I get this set up, Iâll show you how to refill it.â

âTh-thanks!â Toon Link beamed, happy to be praised for his swordsman ship. He hoped Orca would be, or maybe is, proud of where heâs ended up.
âWell, youâre a Pokemon Trainer! UmâŚfrom what I know, most of the fighting in your world is done by Pokemon and not the trainers, so I think itâs okay that you donât use a sword.â
He paused upon the question, smiling as he remembered his old days on Outset Island.
âI learned from the best swordsman in the Great Sea! Old Man Orca lived in my village, and he was super cool with a sword! He taught me all that I know with it.â
âWell, youâre right there.â Red said. âBut I did know some Pokemon trainers that fought. Like I know a gym leader who was in a war! His name is Lt. Surge. He fought with his Pokemon in the war. And then there were Pokemon that trained with their trainers. I wish I could train with my Pokemon too. Though I donât have any strength or abilities.â
Red smiled as he listened to Link talk about his teacher.Â
âIâm sure if Old Man Orca could see you in the arena, heâd be really proud!â
âThat all sounds really toughâŚâ Toon Link started, imagining people training physically with their Pokemon.
âWellâŚdoesnât that make you really well-rounded, though?â
He paused, raising his eyebrows when Orca was again mentioned.
âA-ah, thanks!â Toon Link beamed, surprised at the response about Orca. He hoped Orca really would be proud.
âHmmâŚI guess so!â Red responded. âIâve always wanted to try it, but since I donât use any certain type, it would be hard for me to know which one to train with. Plus since Iâm a normal human, I canât breathe fire or water and all that so the most I would be doing is getting burned or very wet, hahaha!â
He then smiled brightly at what Toon Link said next.
âOh! No problem pal! You really are one of the best sword fighters I know. And weâre the same age!â
Toon Link laughed at the thought of Red trying to breathe fire, before smiling once more at the next compliment he received.
âI donât know many others, well, any others, but I can say youâre the best Pokemon trainer I know, then!â
At this point, the amusement park was in sight, though they werenât too close to it yet.
