On the battlefield? Useful. Opponents that engage with me are not engaging with others, and that’s a very good thing if a diversion is a part of our strategy, or if an ally needs a reprieve.

In the clinic, it’s… well, it’s good to seek care? But feels odd when people seek it from me specifically, when I’m far from the only one working.

…In a romantic way? I’m sure that’s- not true.

Besides, what some people are drawn to… is a reputation. It’s not me.

It was a common occurrence at the clinic, as was pointed out to me, though I didn’t always take notice of it at first.

To answer your question: Yes, I come to… the sky… often.

And I— stop laughing, Syl— and I question the practicality of using a ladder to get there, but of course I will catch you if you fall from it. Next time, just ask a Windrunner to take you. It’d be safer.

How do you feel about Adolin? Friendship-wise, or in other ways, ya know, the whole shebang. Like is he your bestest best friend or... other things, too, or what?

I suppose with all that’s happened, I haven’t given it much thought—but I would count him among my closest friends. And of course, you’re right. Adolin is more than just a friend.

He’s a brother-in-arms, for one. An ally. A rival, at times. A confidante, usually especially when I don’t want him to be… …when I need it the most.

For the times I’ve saved him, he has paid me back in kind, even if he does not know it. Or, perhaps he does. Adolin is far more perceptive than he is given credit for.

Wow hi Kaladin and Syl! This goes to both of you--if you could pick a third Surge for Kaladin (on top of Gravitation and Adhesion), what would it be?

Oh, this is such a good question!! hmmm let me think. I’m sure he could be really resourceful with Transformation :) he’d never run out of food/supplies for people… or maybe Transportation, but he wouldn’t use that one nearly as much as the other two!! probably just for practical things. A bit boring, that.

If it’s in addition to Gravitation and Adhesion and won’t replace my oaths, then Progression.

It needn’t replace the work of a surgeon, but would be there as a last resort. There’d still be a chance to heal someone, even if I failed to protect them.

adolin, what do you say to the rumors of your relationship with kaladin being… not entirely platonic?

My relationship with Kaladin is entirely platonic. That isn’t to say I wouldn’t mind if it changed, but it is to say that I am married to Shallan with no other devotions of the like. While Shallan and I wouldn’t exactly oppose Kaladin joining us, I very much doubt Kaladin would accept without a long period of persuasion.

Well, I have a general tip that normally works!

It’s important to be present and calm. By that, I mean staying with and interacting with the horse frequently, and staying calm when doing so. Plus treats. Horses love treats, of course, so I doubt you’d be in any bad books if you give them some

If it’s a Ryshadium, it’s both simpler and more complex. They’ll choose you. My father and I have both been chosen by Gallant and Sureblood, which likely forms a somewhat different bond than one with a normal horse. But then again, these tips are pretty standard, so I’m sure you’ll be fine!!

Well, I can’t say I’ve read any myself. I have vague recollection of Shallan talking about Yaoi? Can’t for the life of me recall what it’s actually about.
