Microsoft's specialty has always been in creating fast, easy, and usable operating systems. Windows 7 was a huge step up in that respect and Windows 8 looks to be another leap forward. Customizability

I don't know about you, but I get annoyed with iOS and Android devices. I always end up going to the Windows system I'm used to. Why? Because it allows me to customize EVERYTHING about my tablet. While iOS locks you into a restrictive system with only a few customization options available, Windows users have a full array of features to tinker with.

Windows 8 looks to expand on the customization that has made previous versions of their operating system so successful, which is why so many people can't wait for Windows 8 tablet reviews to be released.

Affordability

As any literate tech user knows, Apple charges way too much for their tablets. Windows tablets with more powerful hardware than the iPad are available for a fraction of the price. For that reason, the biggest advantage of Windows tablets may be their pricing.

The biggest news about Windows 8 this week was the release of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview. This is more advanced than the Windows 8 beta (released a few months ago) and features a wide range of changes.

The Windows 8 Consumer Preview is completely free, although Microsoft isn't recommending novice PC users to try it out. After all, if something goes wrong (as often happens in software betas), Microsoft doesn't want to be liable for your mistakes.

The other big news about Windows 8 this week was the fact that Internet Explorer would contain some very unfriendly features with it. Microsoft announced that they would automatically enable privacy protection on every copy of Windows 8 sold, which means that those who depend on the internet to make a living will no longer be able to track Windows users. Some people will see this as a positive, while others (particularly those in the IM community) will see it as the end of the world.

Other than that, Windows 8 development keeps chugging along. Microsoft is working tirelessly to meet their fall release date estimate for the upcoming operating system. At that point, there should be a number of powerful Windows 8 tablets on the market for consumers to choose from.
