I think there's a great chance the existence of mirrors/reflective surfaces silently fucks Rocky up.

Like, Grace is in the bathroom, shaving, the curtain pulled to the side and suddenly he stops and says "stop touching my stuff". Rocky, frozen, somewhere behind him, can't fathom how Grace sensed that. He was so quiet. The razor is so loud. Grace's still facing away from him. What the fuck.

Grace repairing some panel or other and asks for a tool. Without even turning around, he says "no, not that one, the one to its left". Rocky's like are you shitting me. I know for a fact your hearing is ass. You can only see in one direction and I'm not in it!! What?!

The answer to "How did these Ancient People do this????" is basically always

1. A lot of dudes. Just a ton of fucking people from beginning to end of the process.

2. Ancient people weren't stupid, they just figured shit out the same way we do: fuck around until you find out.

3. We're gonna plan this out and it's gonna take ten fucking years, and you will cope.

4. Sticks and string are surprisingly versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes, like moving stuff and making sure things are even and go in the spot you wanted to put them in!

5. I want to make this easier and more efficient to move. If I put this on the round thing and push, it will move. If I put this in water, it will move. If I get some animals and rope and have a whole bunch of them drag it, it will move. All of these things are a better option than one guy trying to pick the whole fucking thing up.

One difficulty of rural life that I didn’t anticipate is being offered animals left and right. Kittens of course; you can’t stop at a farm to buy cheese without being offered a kitten or two. The guy ringing up my plants at the plant nursery asked if I would also be interested in a senior horse. I visited a llama farm two years ago and went home with a donkey and my mum was like ‘You never talked about getting a donkey, did you mean to get a donkey?’ of course not!! it was an accidental donkey. And today, for the second time (in six months) a neighbour (not the same one) offered me free baby goats. Again I had to say no. Is my will being tested? Like St Peter? I will deny the goats three times then hear the rooster crow? Jesus is a free baby goat?

I had a lot of fun with this series, and it was nice to focus on traditional art for a bit.
