ok so because i am a crazy person i have actually dug up every time they’ve played each other. if we don’t count the NA vs Europe games in the World Cup of Hockey, and besides the U18’s in Sochi that you mentioned they have faced each other 3 other times:

2014 World Juniors, Connor got 2 assists, Leon was scoreless

2016 Worlds, Connor got 1 assist, Leon was scoreless

2018 Worlds, Connor got 1 assist, Leon was scoreless (😭😭😭)

the oilers twitter posted a picture of connor, leon, nuge and nursie before that 2018 game and there are also photos of connor and leon in the handshake line! the game is actually up on youtube if you want to watch it, connor and leon face off against each other once and connor gets kicked out of the circle ahahaha

Oh man you are right. Did I put that in a tag or a comment somewhere I'm forgetting? (Oh lol in a queued post I see it.) There's a reason why I would have only been thinking of the 2013 U18 worlds, which I'll put under a cut because it's spoilery for recent chapters of General Dynamics...

(be patient, it has to compare a lot of data)

This is not my project but I've seen it shared before so thinking it's OK to add here.

regrettably as the person who made this tool, i must add the caveat that it doesn't have game-level data for any leagues other than the NHL so it won't actually answer whether leon and connor played a game against each other at worlds etc.

outside of the NHL it can tell you when two players were on the same team at the same time but not when they were in the same league at the same time (which is the first step you'd want, knowing that connor and leon went to worlds in the same year, to go check for exact game matchup reporting). i could add league/tournament level overlapping terms as an option if that's something people would be interested in!

and definitely if anyone out there knows whether the IIHF or other orgs has game-level roster data so i could expand that feature beyond the NHL, let me know!!
