Uh-oh. He seemed to have upset the boy. Then again, he’d probably said a little too much, acted a little too concerned for a mere clueless stranger. “I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable, Koda. You don’t have to look so worried.” he tried to reassure the other with the a soft voice, shifting so most of his weight was leaned back casually. It made him look far less intimidating, and made it seem like he was a bit further away than he really was.

“Sorry if that seemed too overbearing.”

His grip tightened even more around his book, his face tinging red from embarrassment. Koda’s head lowered for a split second before he fixed his eyes back up on the other male. “No... no, it’s okay! It’s fine, really.” Still nervous but not as panicked as before, his shoulders visibly relaxed. “M... maybe we can talk more, somewhere less crowded? If you have to go home, we don’t have to!” 

It would be nice to talk to someone, it’d been a long time since Koda made a friend.

The star shakes his head, lifting the bag a little bit as he started to speak again. “It isn’t anything that will spoil, no worries.”

“You probably should try to stay away from the more morbid tales if you’re already feeling down, you know? If you’re carrying it with you, you must not be doing so well.” He mused softly, golden eyes glinting ever so slightly. When Izzy had bumped into the smaller male, he had caught a few quick glimpses of some…not so pleasant parts of the other’s past. 

He knew better than to comment on it, though.

Koda’s body went rigid from the comment. “Th... they’re just Poe’s works.” As if that was a good enough excuse to read the book when he wasn’t mentally well. Green eyes widening a bit, he took a hesitant step away. “I-I can assure you, I’m doing just... fine.” He caught a glimpse of Izzy’s eyes and raised a brow. This guy wasn’t human, so what was he? Could he read the angel’s mind or something?

Anxiously he held onto the book with one hand while using the other to pull up the sleeves of his sweater, attempting to hide the small scars he had along his wrists.

“Mizar. But you can call me Izzy, if you’d prefer.” his introduction was coupled with a polite nod, smile softening into a more friendly one. 

“And I suppose I can be, from time to time. It seems well used, so there must be something interesting about it.” Izzy commented as he looked at it a bit more closely. The way the other held it almost seemed protective in a way, and the star tilted his head a bit as he shifted the grocery bag in one hand.

“That’s an interesting name... I like it.” Koda commented, amusement clear in his tone of voice. “Alright, I’ll call you Izzy then.”

The fallen angel nodded once and peered down at the book in his arms. “I’ve had it since childhood, I read it whenever I’m feeling down.” He looked back up at the other and frowned slightly. “Ah-- I’m probably keeping you from getting home! Sorry about that.”

“No, you’re alright.” Brassy golden eyes fixed down on the smaller male and offered a somewhat stiff smile. Feet floated back to the ground as he watched the shorter boy stoop to grab the dropped book.

“It must be a pretty good read?”

“It is if you’re into grim and morbid tales, I guess.”

Koda flashed the taller male a sheepish smile, holding onto the book rather tightly to his chest. The book itself was maroon and seemed pretty thick, the pages slightly worn and weathered. “I’m Dakoda-- you can just call me Koda though. Um... it’s nice to meet you, mister...?”

Meet Koda, a twenty something year old who isn’t exactly human. In fact, he’s a fallen angel, whose wings were ripped and now is currently roaming the earth searching for his purpose. He’s a huge gay who adores flowers, 80′s films, and cheesy love songs. Oh– he’s also a bit suicidal. Even though he can’t die (since he’s immortal), it doesn’t stop him from trying.
