How did he continuously find himself running into such odd people as of late. Well, when looking at the people that he usually accompanied by this dude was quite normal so SCRATCH THAT.

“I’m sorry but can I help you at all?” His tone wasn’t rude or anything in fact Ryuki always made a conscious effort to come off as polite and welcoming, it made it easier to get info out of people. But he just looked exhausted after a day of running around and asking everybody the same questions to get the same dead ends.

Ugh, Tama must have gotten the coordinates wrong or something, but she never did that. A highly competent ( that word was used loosely) AI sending him to the wrong place? That didn’t make sense even if she was trying to trick him. ”Hey i’m sorry to bother you but, I’ve been sent here on official investigative work. Would you happen to know anything about the HB case? Any information is helpful.”

The woman was busy writing on the docs until Ryuuki asks her about the HB case. She then takes a picture of him and grabs her notepad to write whatever she needs to put down.

“HB Case? Hmmm, no, the boss nor my co workers at the detective agency never have a HB Case. But, I ended up having a disappearance case of the sciencest trio, which no one can figured it out. However, I did manage to connect the dots and was I about to do a rescue mission. But, the error code must’ve dragged me into the office here…”

“You’ve never heard of the HB case...?” He was completely caught off guard by their lack of knowledge. This list of killings was all over the news, maybe they’ve just been here that long. The ‘sciencest trio’ though, never heard of em. Oh! Maybe they were just from a different part of the world. That would put some sense to this. Ryuki decided to ask just one more thing before diagnosing the whole situation. “Do you know about the cyclops killer at least or the new cyclops serial killings? These cases had an awful lot of media coverage so i’d be surprised if you still said you had no clue.”

Would you be considered akin to an AI at this point then?” Unsure of how to process this, Ryuki could only compare it to one thing he had ever done before. Syncing was considered uploading yourself into someones somnium temporarily, but he’d never heard of someone mentally going into an inanimate object before. Maybe he should ask Pewter about all this new information next time he’s in ABIS.

I’ve never seen anything like it.” Ryuki was playing half dumb, of course he’s never seen a physical AI outside of somniums but he’s spent A LOT of time talking to a certain ai, so as a concept alone it is not new. “Also my apologize, didn’t intend to startle you at all. The names Ryuki Kuruto, and who would you happen to be?”
