Just finished watching KinnPorsche: la forte (the series).

How EPIC do you want your gay romance to be, eh?!

This is a series totally fit for the modern times.

I think what I like most about it, besides all the hotness, is that the characters are all so accepting of these guys being in love. Especially dad. That’s just wonderful and how it always should be.

All the characters need serious therapy, though, LMAO, for one reason or another.

Tumblr is my sanity today. I had a virtual heart-attack watching The Mandalorian, probably stopped breathing for all those minutes, and am still not recovered. Oh yeah, and I cried. A lot.

As for the CC team award, as you can see in the Sportity app, in the xls file with departures, most of team Japan have already left (yes, you can go stalk them, flight numbers and times are public).

Shoma and his mom leave tomorrow (Monday). (Stéphane left on the same flight to Geneva today already). And obviously Yuhana and Rika are still here. But for Shoma’s sake, I hope he is out sightseeing The Hague or Amsterdam today, instead of coming to this award thing.

OMG how lucky were we to see this live?! All the Japanese skaters were great, inc the juniors etc. And then Shoma was so amazing, and Yuhana and Rika both clean!! Those triple axels, so smooth!

Challenge Cup is such a good place for team Japan! We love you!

Remember, there is a CC Team Award after competitions finish today. Theoretically (!), that means all Japanese skaters come on the ice again.

Had an exhausting but fun Friday at the Challenge Cup. Gave Mone Chiba a smiley plushie, Nozomu Yoshioka flowers, and Michael Neuman, well, had to be a Dutch flag diadem, didn’t? He’s such a good sport, wore the thing, too! I knew if there was one skater crazy enough to wear it, it would be him!

(If you don’t understand, he is the king of Challenge Cup Sunday afternoon skating battles, which he always tried to win by dressing up in the funniest outfits. Alas, the packed schedule at CC does not allow for a skating battle this year!)

As for Shoma Uno, he is so nice to watch in real life. Seen him often, but it just never fails to impress. And I adore his SP! Big plushie for him, hehe. Thanks for coming, Shoma! Ten years after Yuzuru Hanyu came here, we are blessed with your presence!

So excited about next week! It’s not every day you get both Japanese national champions at your home competition.

Also, Michael Neuman seems to be a late addition. Did nobody inform him there won’t be a skating battle this year? :-( Especially sad, also considering the fact he and Donovan Carrillo could have really made a big party out of it!

Final Fantasy VII Remake

It’s about time we learned about the composers. I refuse to listen to Nobuo Uematsu’s theme song. It has to remain a surprise!

And it’s basically the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy composers returning... yummy. I approve! Thumbs up!

So it’s starting to look like Shoma Uno may really make it to The Hague this year and enjoy our uber relaxed little competition.

Only two weeks short of a decade after Yuzuru Hanyu became Junior World champion on the very same ice! Well, the same ice rink, anyway

Mostly, though, I am thrilled at the chance to meet up with all the wonderful friends I made in The Hague and Grenoble last year. I never expected I would get the chance to see everybody again so soon! Lucky me!

Challenge Cup

So, like, one second to the next, almost all decent Senior Men withdraw.

Bit.... hhhmmm, eh? Yeah. I’m used to this, although frankly, this is a bit much even for the CC. You really cannot tell me that Daniel Grassl, Kevin Aymoz, Paul Fentz and a few more even all just decided to WD one day before competition?

Weird.

In this country, you learn VERY quickly to never go to a competition for any one single skater, but to appreciate figure skating as a whole, because if you don’t, you will end up horribly disappointed every year with all the last-minute WDs.

Fortunately, Soya, Yuma, Rika, Wakaba and Sara are still coming. Phew.

Daniel Grassl

Has withdrawn from the Challenge Cup.

I’m so used to my faves WDing from this particular competition that I’m not even disappointed anymore. (This goes back all the way to Takahiko Kozuka.)

Shoma WDing due to injury left me feeling the same way. Just a big fat Well OF COURSE he did. (It’s even funnier how he only just went and won the 4CC with said injury.) Alexia Paganini also just disappeared off the list, just like that, poof.

When it comes to the CC and the skaters announcements, always remember, Eerst zien, dan geloven. I have to see it before I believe it.

Thankfully those darlin’ Japanese gals are still coming!!!
