(I got I Remember You by Yui, so I had to get a translation of the first line. Superhero AU?)
The wind was cold now.
Jack stood on the roof, hands buried in the pockets of his jacket as the wind whipped the collar around his jawline, and tousled his already messy hair.
The clouds were gathering, and the rain would come soon. He had hoped it would snow, but the clouds weren’t heavy enough, and the air wasn’t cold enough.
He would stand there until the rain hit, lost in his own thoughts and looking down at the city.

Jack chuckled, closing his eyes again.
“So, is this our new normal? Me bleeding on your floor while you patch me up?”
She stopped the motion of her hand guiding the wet towel over his wounds. Rapunzel resembled a small frown as she took in the injured boy lying peacefully on her bed.
“I sure hope not…” She shook her head, brushing a hand through her hair prior to her return to dabbing his damaged skin.
“This is normal for me, Rapunzel,” Jack said, sighing in frustration. “Do you have any idea how hard it’s been trying to hide the injuries for the past nine months?”
“And do you have any idea how difficult it is for me to take this all in? To see you like this? To be worrying and hoping you will come back?” Her eyes began to glisten from the forming of tears. She looked up to the ceiling, assuming that the tears will go away. It also helped that she wasn’t facing him, because that would have caused the complete opposite.
Jack grimaced.
This was why he hadn’t told her. Not just because it would put her in danger - but because he knew how hard it would be for her. She cared so much. And while he appreciated it, and he loved her for it... he knew she would worry.
“I know,” he said, her voice low. “I’m sorry.”
His heart twisted.
He hated when she cried, because he felt so helpless to do anything. It was even worse when he knew he had caused it. All he wanted to do was protect her, and making her cry was the exact opposite of that.
