Winter in June 2015 Postcard Campaign
**First, I would like to say that I ran the campaign by Marissa Meyer herself (via Twitter) and though she made it clear she has no say in the release date, she did say I was welcome to pursue the campaign.**
Fellow Lunartics,
I just finished my annual re-read of Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress over the weekend. There are no words to begin to express how much I adore this series, the world, and most of all, the characters. Marissa Meyer has forever changed my view of the moon, and I shall remain eternally grateful. Never have I cared about a series as much as I do this one. To say it is my favourite feels like an understatement.
Now, as excited as I am for the release of Fairest in January, I am deeply distressed that the release date for Winter has been pushed back to November 10th, 2015.
So, I have decided to ignite a postcard campaign for a June 2015 release. What we'll be doing is sending a postcard to Feiwel & Friends / Macmillan expressing our desire for a June 2015 release. Everyone is free to make their own postcard (I'll be handpainting mine). If you don't have the time to make your own, I have provided the above design. Simply save the image or download HERE and print it out.
**Photoshop is not my thing. If anyone would like to design a better postcard for the campaign, feel free!**
I believe we should set a specific week for the postcards to be sent out so they may all arrive around the same time. The date has yet to be determined. I'd like to hold off until I actually have people on board.
We'll be sending the postcards to the following address:
175 Fifth Avenue
New York, NY 10010
**If anyone knows of a specific individual that we should be addressing these to, please let me know.**
Lunartics, I plead with you to join me. Let us band together!
I do not want to wait an extra five months to read Winter. I don't want to wait an extra five months for a certain and very dear couple to be reunited. I don't want to wait an extra five months for our beloved Captain Thorne to regain that which was lost. I don't want to wait an extra five months for him to realize Cress is the One; everything he never knew he wanted. I don't want to wait an extra five months to fall in love with Winter and Jacin. I don't want to wait an extra five months to enjoy Cinder and Kai in close proximity. I don't want to wait an extra five months to see our favourite "band of misfits" triumph. I don't want to wait an extra five months to (hopefully) see these characters--no, friends--live happily ever after. As much as it will hurt me, I don't want to wait an extra five months to say goodbye to these friends.
Do you?
Sincerely,
A devoted Lunartic.
**There may be giveaway. Depending on how many participates there is. So follow on Twitter.**
And if you require a logical argument for an earlier release...
NaNoWriMo. Just about every reader knows November is National Writing Month, and most of Marissa's lovely readers know that all of her currently published work (also Fairest and Winter) has originated from NaNoWriMo. I am not saying our beloved author is required to participate every single year. I am saying that she should be free to write that month if she wishes. And how can she be free to write (if she wishes) if she's busy touring?
Also, Mockingjay: Part 2 is literally the following week. That is far too many feels for a single month. The human body can only endure so much.
