He walked down one of the many halls in the Stark Tower. He stared at the ground, his face not giving off any of the emotions that where stewing inside him; his legs taking long meaningless strides, leading him to a destination still unknown to himself. He was just walking; he tended to do that a lot lately. It helped him try to deal and compartmentalize all the feelings he had trying to break threw his hard shell. He was mumbling incoherent words, and he closed his eyes for a second, his legs still striding. He feels his body thud into something, instinctively his vibranium arm stretched out and he instantly opens his eyes and looks up to see what or who he ran into, the turmoil he was just thinking over in his head flashed on his face only for a second and then it was gone again as his normal, no emotion facet appeared again. He saw @phoenixwithoutadoubt in front of him, teetering slightly so he used his vibranium arm to steady her. “Sorry, wasn’t looking were-”, as he spoke he couldn’t but help seem to somehow recognize the woman standing in front of him. He stopped mid sentence and just starts a new one, “you look oddly familiar. Whats your name?”
*Emma takes a moment to gain her composure as she regains her balance.* I’m Phoenix. Ugh…Emma. *she stares at the man in frount of her for a moment. Jumbled memories flood though her mind. She knows him.* I’m sorry I don’t mean to stare it just feels like we met before.
“E…m…m…a.” He says her name oddly slow, trying to recollect any association he had to the name. “I don’t recollect your name, but I too feel like we’ve met before. But then again there are a lot of things I don’t seem to remember but your face seems oddly familiar.” He couldn’t put were he had seen her before but he was certain he knew her from somewhere.
She gives him a little smile. “I completely get it. I was on the botched Calcutta mission and can’t remember anything. Just snap shots of memories right now. Faces seem to pop back up in my head and I don’t know from where.” She searches her mind for answers but comes up with a name. “You’re Sergeant Barnes right?”
“Sargent Barnes…” he mumbled his name as if it were foreign to him, he hadn’t heard that name since the war. “I haven’t been called that in a long time so evidently no. People know me now as the Winter Soldier.” He couldn’t even see himself ever becoming the man he was back then so the name just didn’t even seem right anymore. “But Steve calls me Bucky.” A small faint smile appeared on his face at the mention of Steve but as quickly as it appeared it was gone. “I believe I was on that mission as well, I’m not completely sure though, a lot has just blurred together.”
She gives him a small smile. “Ya that mission was hell Bucky. Maybe if we work together we can both get back some of our jumbled memories. But right now, I have to get some of this frustration out. I was headed to the gym. What to come with me? Please? I would really like the help. I’m just getting back into training after the explosion and well anyway…” Emma looks down realizing she is rambling as she shifts nervously. “Sorry I don’t mean to ramble just not too many people understand what I’m going though and you seem like you do.”
He nodded at the suggestion of them working together to help unjumble their memories. “Frustration? Why are you frustrated?” He slightly smirked as he watched her ramble on then nodded since he didn’t have a specific destination for this walk he decided to go on. “Sure, we can train together, but just know, I’m not going to go easy on you.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.” She falls in step in the right hand side of him as they head towards the gym. “The frustration comes with the loss of memories, I guess. Also, my partner and team is gone.” She gives him a small glance trying to get a read on his thoughts but damn it’s nearly impossible with him. Emma takes a deep breath, before continuing. “Guess I just feel like the lone survivor. You know what I mean?”
“Good.” He didn’t like going easy on people, he thought it a disservice to them. He walked next to her as they headed towards the gym, listening to her speak. He nodded, “I do get it. I feel the same way sometimes. And I don’t tell anyone because they wouldn’t get it or they’d just pity me and I don’t want their pity.” As they reach the training room he reaches for the door and holds it open for her and gestures to her to go in.
Emma enters the gym and places her bag onto the bench. “Bucky, thanks for listening. You seem like the only one that truly understands.” She pulls up her hair into a high pony tail as she looks around the room. “What do you want to do first?”
He followed right behind her through the door and into the gym. He waited as she set her stuff down and nodded at her comment. “We should start with some stretches and then maybe start on the punching bags and then we can move to sparring with each other?”
He stares intently at @sebastianstanwithoutadoubt from across the room, studying the man. Did HYDRA create a clone of myself? Is this a ruse? He thought to himself. He took a deep breath and walked across the room towards the strange man, twirling a knife in his hand. Once he was close enough he swiftly grabbed the other mans left arm and quickly ran the knife over the pinkish flesh of his palm wondering if he bled the same as him. He stared at the vibrant red blood starting to puddle out from the cut in the hand. “Hmm interesting,” he muttered to himself. “Who are you and why do you look like me?!” He demanded as he looked at the man who looked almost identical to himself.
Woah, what the fuck dude?! Who are you?! *sebastian held his bleeding hand*
You can’t just cut people!
“Had to make sure you weren’t a strange HYDRA experiment, but I’m still not convinced. So who are you? Do you work for HYDRA? And you better answer this time or I will cut you again.” He stared intently at the strange man, and gripped his knife a little to tight, wanting to use it again but held back.
Uh… I’m Sebastian Stan, and I’m an actor. I’m 100% human, so can you just like, go cut someone else?
But I don’t want to cut someone else, I want to cut you 😜 The name was unfamiliar to him. He couldn’t help but feel a slight sting from the words ‘I’m 100% human’. “Would you prefer me to cut someone less human?” He said with disdain in his voice.
I’d prefer you don’t cut anyone, but that’s none of my business.
“Cutting people is fun, which you are no fun; you should loosen up and try it sometime.”
He walked into the training room and quickly glanced around to see who was there. He noticed @mariahillwithoutadoubt across the room on a punching bag. He didn’t take his eyes off her as he walked over to the punching bags. As he walked across the room he was trying to figure out who she was. She remembered her name but he knew she had some kind of significants in his life, he just couldn’t quit figure it out yet. He gave her a quick smile then turned to a bag and started swinging as he continued to try and figure out what significance she was to him. As he was punching away at the bag he couldn’t help but get this feeling it had to do something with Steve. He abruptly stopped punching mid punch and turned to her and asking, “what’s your relationship with Steve?”
Maria stopped mid punch and looked at Bucky with a confused look, not because she didnt know him, Steve had introduced her to his friend when the man joined the team. No, it was it was the first time he had spoken to her or anyone for that matter without Steve being around. “Um…we’re colleagues. I’d like to think we’re friends. Why do you ask?”
“Colleagues…” he said as if a bitter taste in his mouth. That didn’t answer his question, he knew they had to be more than colleagues, at least friends, especially for him to find her important within all the missing peaces in his head. He ignored her question and answered with another question, “If you’re just colleagues then what’s your relationship to me?”
Maria turned and faced him. She was unsure how ri answer him without triggering the other side of him. The one that Steve tried desperately to hide from his friend. She knew of him, “The Winter Soldier”, what he had done in the past, the things he was capable of, things that could come in quiet handy when needed, but now was not the time to bring that up and test the limits. “The same, friends if you want to be” *and an asset when needed, she thought to herself*.
He nodded then stared at the mats on the floor of the room trying to think. He just couldn’t seeing anyone being significant to him, well besides Steve, Steve was always the exception, so she had to be significant to Steve. He gave a small smile looking back up at her, “I suppose we can be friends.” it’s not like he had abundance of them just lying around so he was in no position to decline. “And don’t sell yourself short, I think you mean more to Steve then you realize, you’re definitely not ‘just colleagues’ as you put it.”
Maybe she judged him too harshly, he had gone through a lot more than she could ever imagine. Brainwashed by Hydra to do their bidding. She just wasn’t one to be open and trusting considering what she’s gone through in the past. Never knowing who to really trust, but if Steve trusted him and she trusted Steve, then why couldn’t she. “Good,” Maria sighed, “so I need a sparring partner, you up for it?”
He instantly smirked at the offer. He normally only spared with Steve and very rarely Natasha, but he definitely would love to spice it up a bit, he wanted to know how good of a fighter she was. “Oh definitely, as long as you're fine that I'm not going to go easy on you.”
He walked down one of the many halls in the Stark Tower. He stared at the ground, his face not giving off any of the emotions that where stewing inside him; his legs taking long meaningless strides, leading him to a destination still unknown to himself.
