Hello!
Phew! What a weekend...
During the summer we're not as accustomed to busy screenings but thanks for bearing with us while we shook off the rust over the last few days.
We've been really happy to see the success of both Yesterday and Toy Story 4 and they both continue until Thursday. Booking as soon as possible is strongly advised as there aren't many seats left for either film. Yesterday is screening daily from Monday to Thursday and there's two chances to catch Toy Story 4 on Wednesday and Thursday before they're both gone for good.
This weekend we've got families in mind as the summer holidays rage on (is it just a week already?) and we're pleased to bring Men in Black: International to our screen on Friday and Saturday evening. This new and improved reboot of the hit 90's sci-fi mega hit is just as fun, and plays off its two leads to great effect. Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemwsworth bring all the chemistry they had in Thor: Ragnarok and inject it into this hilarious film. A great summer treat, and remember a group, or family of 4, can book 4 tickets for just £18.
The final thing to announce this week is our Colour Box Short Films for Kids on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Colour Box Shorts for Kids are both 61 minute packages of entertaining and varied animated films from the world of short cinema. A perfect way to fill a few hours with the kids. PLUS, we'll be running free workshops before each screening. On Sat 27th July it's Nature's Tales, a cinematic trip into the wild and you can come along and make an animal mask from recycled materials, then on 28th July it's Dreamweavers, a voyage into the magical and mystical, where we'll be making dreamcatchers beforehand. Woody has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that's Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnie's beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky, declares himself as "trash" and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. Seats are filling up fast!
August Close Down
Its time to say goodbye for a while, we are going to be closed from 5th August until the start of the Wirksworth while we carry out some essential maintenance. This will give us time to revamp our bar are and make some crucial changes which will allow us to open for longer hours and operate as a great place to eat and drink - as well as a great place to see films. Have a good summer!

Josh has been at the metaphorical coal-face to make sure our next programme is jam packed with great films, live events and superb broadcasts. We kick start with a great lineup for the annual Wirksworth Festival. There's also mega releases such as Downton Abbey, Blinded by the Light and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to look forward to.
