      The sight of the girl, familiar and small hit the woman like a shot to the heart. “Marlene?” She almost didn’t want to say her name for fear that the face she saw on the figure would be true and her chest tightened, eyes widening in worry, near despair. “Marlene…what are you doing here?” A few steps and Tifa was before the child, towering over her a moment before she was leaning down, bracing he hands on her thighs as she adjusted her stance to be one closer to the girls, eyes searching her face for signs of something, anything. Specifics weren’t exactly needed at a time like this, were they?

      Tifa didn’t like this. No, she didn’t like this at all.

┌This place was weird, and the child couldn't exactly say that she liked it here. Not that she'd been here very long in total. But still, the place was definitely weird no matter how you looked at it, and it certainly wasn't home. She wasn't sure what she should do first. Where she should be going. A strong reminder of the slums ran through her mind at the sights and the sounds, and especially the people. She was about tot urn back in the direction of the housing she came from when a familiar voice caused her to stop in her tracks.┘

"Tifa?"

┌Marlene asked, brown eyes widening to the size of saucers as the other woman came up to her. Craning her head back she stared up in mute surprise.┘

"I don't know..."

┌The honest answer escaped in reply to the question.┘

“the thing." he grunted and crossed his arms— well his arm and megabuster, glaring at the floor.

"…did you happen to hear or see a small brunette wearing a bandana crying did you??"

┌Marlene grew even more confused when he questioned her about some boy she was certain she hadn't met. The glare on the person's face caused her to place her hands on her hips and move so her head was in the between him and the floor.┘

"I haven't."
