All they had to do was have Will come out to Joyce and Jonathan, allow him to say the words I’m gay, it’s super sweet and emotional. As all 3 are hugging then Mike walks in.

Will tells him to stay, Joyce and Jonathan leave. (Jonathan glares at Mike because he’s a good big brother) Will comes out to Mike tells him he has feelings for him, Mike lets him down easy, reassures Will that he will always love him and they will always be friends. They hug.

ITS NOT THAT HARD!!

What irritates me the most is that there is a compelling and complex story here, if it was in the hands of better writers.

Say Alex and Michael were never together in the past and Michael and Maria were an established long term couple. Alex and Maria are incredibly close and Alex met Michael through her, Michael is still bi and Alex doesn’t really know who he is. If you want it to be this ‘beautiful culmination’ of their feelings build it up over time, have them actually spend a lot of time together all three of them and get them comfortable and affectionate with each other. Show Alex developing those kind of feelings for Maria, have him be curious. Then after they are all in the right frame of mind and are clear about what they are doing, then you have your threesome and you could build a really special relationship between the three of them.

But that’s not the story we’ve been given. Alex is gay! He has said it on multiple occasions, he said being with a woman was him disappearing or hiding from himself, he has never been seen questioning or wondering about his sexuality. Also I wouldn’t have Alex have a threesome with his ex who rejected him and his best female friend who he was rejected for.

Also it served no purpose! There was literally no point. Michael and Maria were already getting close, they did not need a threesome to reaffirm their feeings for one another (and typing that sentence actually made me feel sick) and you didn’t need it to have Alex finally move on from Michael, you did that last episode. He gave Michael the piece of the console said he wasn’t going to hold him back and then he walked away.

This has been way too long of a rant but bottom line the writers are trash they made Maria seem manipulative (I want to stress that I do not think she is but that’s how it came across) Michael as insensitive and Alex as some weak pawn who can’t make his own decisions.

Honestly how are we supposed to root for any of these characters:

Maria: knows her best friend is in love with the guy she’s seeing but invites him to have a threesome even though she has to know how much it would hurt him.

Michael: Is keeping Alex at arms length because there’s too many feeling between them and is trying to make a real go of it with Maria, and then just decides to sleep with both of them.

Alex: I adore Alex but he knows he needs to stay away from Michael, that carrying all of this pain and guilt isn’t good for him. Then Maria says lets have a threesome and he’s like sure. What?!? Also HES GAY!!

Am I supposed to root for any of these people now because I don’t.

Also way to promote the stereotype that bisexuals can’t choose and just sleep around. Well done.

Yeah. Those are just a few of the reasons he deserves better - a few of the reasons we all do.
