In 2007, when I closed the last Harry Potter book, I knew that my time with the saga had ended. It had accompanied me since I was 11 years old, and while the books were being released, my involvement in the fandom was inevitable. I discovered fanfictions and Drarry (which I think didn't have a name at the time) and devoured them all. I even remember famous titles from that era, which were the gateway fanfics to the ship. My teenage years were better thanks to the writing and reading of those fanfictions.

However, after Deathly Hallows I knew it was going to end; the series had disappointed me. I hated the last two books, hated everything in them, and refused to accept them as canon. I watched the last films more out of pity than desire and permanently closed that door that connected me to JK Rowling's book series.

During the pandemic, I watched some content creators who talked about the series, and I began to remember my days in the (old) fandom, rereading fanfics I wrote and published while in secondary school, and I started reconnecting with that part of me that loved the saga.

That's when a fanfic started forming in my head. One that summarises a bit how I feel after almost 20 years of not reading or writing anything about it and that could also bring these characters to life from a more adult perspective. So, despite having to write names like Albus Severus with horror, I decided to put this writing into practice as a form of catharsis. And I think it worked quite well for me.

Today I realized that this drarry is 20 years old and that I left the HP fandom 15 years ago. But to the new generations I leave this gem (only tracked by Wayback machine cos is an archaeological material 😆), it was the MOST important fanfic at that time and your gateway to Drarry (which, at that time, did not have a couple name and was more clandestine). There were 5 books, 2 movies, and everything seemed to be more or less in order:
