redesigns and posts about the worldbuilding in my rewrite of Winx Club - Winx: Magic Bloom and it's spin-off - Winx: Magic Roxy | under re-cunstruction
|| main: @daydreamsia - find concept art for my redesigns and ideas for the rewrite there ||
and welcome, to witch-ix. Here I'll share everything about my Winx Club rewrite universe. It will be a rewrite of the first three seasons, as well as a spin-off about Terrestrial Magic with Roxy, Selina and Macy. For this spin-off I pick and choose what I like from the show, or World of Winx, mix it up and create my own thing.
Here I post my worldbuilding- and story-changes, as well as redesigns. I want to give myself the time to work on everything, until I'm happy with most things, before eventually writing the rewrite.
unlinked titles have associated posts, but I'm reworking them - you can see old posts as half-truths or ideas of my worldbuilding

Red Fountain Trainings Uniform, Mission Armor and Formal Suit
The students of Red Fountain are trained and educated to become either Knights or Wizards. The future Knights are taught to fight using weapons, as well as magical methods.
The round jewel is made of their magic, during the first week of first years' classes at the college. It resembles a Wizard's Amulet, but is used to store the phanto-weapons and the nanotech-armor. During their time as students their jewels are color-coded, depending on which specialisation they choose-
First year's jewels of future Knights are teal. With the second year they can choose between different branches: team leaders, who continue joining most classes to become all-rounder, have a green jewel; armorer and combatants wear a magenta jewel; strategists and negotiators' jewel is blue; pilots and mechanics are yellow. The red jewels are on Red Fountains' Guardians.
Despite these different specialisations all future Knights have to attend weapon- and combat training, as well as dragon-riding classes.
During the first month of their first year the future Knights have a choice over what weapon(s) they learn to use. Whatever weapon it is comes down to preference and skill set of the student.
The phanto-weapons are made of an absolute magic-proof material – Eraklium – which is shaped by their magic and retractable into the hilt.
They are also taught to use their magic to enhance their physical condition in order to be faster or stronger; and to keep their minds save from illusion magic.
more information under the cut -
Their trainings uniform consists of comfortable pants, laceless shoes, usually fingerless gloves (but Vyke's weapon of choice is bow and arrow) and tops, which are offered in different cuts - the choice comes down to personal preference. The jewels can be put wherever the student/guardian thinks the most practical.
The mission armor is nanotechnology and has been invented only a few years prior by a couple from Zenith. It is made of Eraklium, just like the phanto-weapons.
Red Fountain students and Guardian's armor comes in blue and beige and the color combination is locked for them specifically.
A helmet is part of the armor. Both can be worn without the other.
One's helmet can be connected with the teammates helmets, to be able to communicate through greater distances, when out on missions.
After graduating everyone has to change their armor's colors, either to fit with their work place or personal preference.
The formal suit comes with a red cape, which is held in place with the jewel. The chains attached to the jewel show the rank – fourth- and fifth-year students get one chain, the guardians have two and teachers three.
Bonus: The suit without the cape and the bodysuit underneath the nanotech-armor.
The bodysuit is form-fitting, high-tech; designed for comfort and functionality: it's advanced under armor that helps regulate temperature and provides additional protection. The material is resistant to damage, providing an extra layer of protection in case of emergencies; it's equipped with life support systems that monitor their vitals and provide oxygen if needed.
It used to be worn for missions before the nanotech-armor was invented, but it was blue and white back then.
Magix has 11 different magical realms, which all unite politically to ensure peace on the planet.
To make sure that works out every realm has to vote for ten Count/esses each. These ten get each sent away to one of the other realms, where they live and act like ambassadors until the next voting cycle starts. For example Countess Cassandra is the Countess for Calisto in Solaria.
Each realm has multiple cities, which are all lead by Dukes/Duchesses, who have to win a voting in order to carry that title for five years.
Each Duke/Duchess also sends a Baron/Baroness to the royal palace, to act like an ambassador within their own realm.
Two of the 11 realms are empires, seven are kingdoms.
The Empires are Oceana and Jörd. Both bring together two kingdoms within one realm. – Andros and Nereia are within Oceana, Eraklyon and Downland are within Jörd.
The titles of Emperor/Empress and King/Queen are passed down by birth right or adoption. Every bloodline of them can be tracked back to those who came to live within their realm first. They don’t hold political power, but are figureheads of their realms, who put their own magic into their realm’s magical core once they are crowned. In doing so they are deeply connected with their realm. Traditionally it was either them or their partners, who also wielded the Weapon of the Dragon’s Spark - the Sceptre of Solaria, the Sword of Domino, … - to defend their realm and be a part of the Company of Light. This however ended after Ísheim fell and Domino was cursed.
Every Emperor/Empress and King/Queen is on their throne for fifty years – around the ages of 25 to 75. Their children, the Prince/sses, learn everything about their future duties while growing up.
Except in Linphea, where the current King/Queen is also the Nymph of the Realm. From the age of 70 the Nymph of Linphea has a court of Faes and High Witch/ers who learn about their future duties from them.
The figurehead of Zenith is the Pixie who was born when the Realm's magical core was created. The Realm of Zenith does have Dukes/Duchesses, Count/esses and Baron/esses, but no higher Royality.
Arcadia is politically completely neutral. Within this realm are two major cities – Magix City and Metropolis, which was the first civilisation of the planet and continues to be a thriving city.
The title of Chief of Metropolis is a passed down title as well. They have the same duties as the Emperor/Empresses and King/Queens of the other realms.
Lords and Ladies are either closely related to the royal or potitician families, or have earned their title in special ways.
I took a closer look at the fairy signs in the Winx Club Wiki and had fun thinking about how a year with 16 months would work.
+ i read some scientific articles on how a planet orbiting around twin suns would/could potentially work.
One full orbit around Magix twin suns takes the planet exactly 336 days. Each year has 16 months and exactly 48 weeks. Every month lasts for 21 days, whereas one week has seven days. A day lasts the equivalent of around 26 hours on earth.
Due to garvity the twin suns spin around each other as well. Which leads to a sun-sun-eclipse on every seventh day.
The cycle of Magix' moon lasts for 21 days - every month strarts with a new moon.
Each month is named after its most prominent starsign on the night sky.
The first month of the calendar is the day after the solstice and the start of the spring months.
1. Griffin
2. Satyr
3. Elf
4. Chimera
Between the forth and fifth month is the first equinox. It indicates the beginning of the summer months.
5. Hippogriff
6. Mermaid
7. Unicorn
8. Nereid
With the second sun solstice the it's the beginning of the autumn months.
9. Elemental
10. Salamander
11. Dragon
12. Triton
The second equinox announces the start of the winter months.
13. Pegasus
14.Centaur
15. Dryad
16. Phoenix
Every school and college on Magix has summer break during Mermaid and Unicorn, new years break during the last week of Phoenix and first week of Griffin, and a break of eight days during each week of equinox. Hippogriff is the month of final exams everywhere.
But after all, one year on Magix is just as long as one year on Earth.
+ here is how long each month is when looking at Earth-months:
solstice of the frist sun, beginning of a new year and the spring months: April 2nd and April 3rd
Griffin: Apirl 3rd - April 25th
Satyr: April 26th - May 18th
Elf: May 19th - June 9th
Chimera: June 10th - July 2nd
first equinox and beginning of the summer months: July 2nd and July 3rd
Hippogriff: July 3rd - July 25th
Mermaid: July 26th - August 17th
Unicorn: August 18th - September 9th
Nereid: September 10th - October 2nd
solstice of the second sun and beginning of the autumn months: October 2nd and October 3rd
Elemental: October 3rd - October 25th
Salamander: October 26th - November 17th
Dragon: November 18th - December 9th
Triton: December 10th - January 1st
second equinox and beginning of the winter months: January 1nd and January 2nd
Pegasus: January 2nd - January 24th
Centaur: January 25th - February 16th
Dryad: February 17th - March 10th
Phoenix: March 11th - April 2nd
I actually made a calendar, just so i'll have an easier time when working on timelines – i just prefer to have a clean overview.
But now i also know all the character's Magix birthdays, which just makes more sense to me.
On the day Bloom arrives on Magix Faragonda gives her a device which shows her time and day of Magix City, as well as time and day of Gardenia. Mike and Vanessa get a similar device too – to make it easier for them to stay in contact with each other, remember birthdays and important dates.
It's not perfectly calculated, but probably close enough.
Kiko was Daphnes Dæmon. She sent him with Bloom to earth in order to have a part of her always be close to her little sister and to leave Bloom with something magical.
Mike and Vanessa are greatly confused how this at least 18-year-old bunny is still alive, but they are also happy that he's healthy and clean.
The three best colleges for anyone who wants to practice more than basic magic are located close to Magix City – Alfea, Cloud Tower and Red Fountain. All of them can only be visited once the basic education has been finished, which is when the students are around 17/18 years old.
They take five years each, whereas the students have on-campus dorm rooms during the first three. For the two latter years the students are given shared apartments in Magix City, as these years are dedicated for independent studies.
The students either have to pay for their education or get a scholarship. In every school a maximum of 100 students are accepted per year, making sure there are never more than 500 students at once.

Wizards are expected to have their Sceptre by the end of their third year.
During their last two years their education focusses either on working as a Paladin/Wizard, royal guard or becoming king or queen of their realm.
Doesn’t matter what they choose, Specialists have to work on their own nanotech-armor, which is stored inside the amulet they make of their own magic at the end of their third year. That’s also where their weapons are kept when they don’t need them.
From the fourth year onward, additional electives can be chosen from: Technological Architecture, Software Construction, Engineering, Coding. For those who already know, they want to do something different after the education.
Any Specialists who is able to tame a Dragon in Pyros and bond with the creature spiritually, as well as mentally, graduates with an honours degree and gets titled Paladin.
Any Wizard who has their Staff by the end of their fifth year, graduates with an honours degree.
All Electives are for the students of either one of the three colleges. If one chooses one from another school, they would have to go there.
Royals from every college can attend classes specifically for them – Etiquette, Economics, Sociology, Diplomacy, Politics and Laws. Those are thought by advisors in Magix City.
Other Magix City courses include Languages for students, who want to learn other languages of Magix and any Sports or Dance courses.
Pixies are born from the Flower of Life once a fairy has stabilized their first transformation. They are around 8cm tall, genderless and their skin has the same colour as the fairies magic. They choose their own names, once they are a few days old.
A Pixies personality is either similar, or very different to their fairie's and their powers are just what the fairy needs. But not every fairy meets their Pixie.
Pixies can also be born as Guardian Pixies. Those come to life once a huge amount of magic has been bonded to an object, creating a Codex.
The very first Guardian Pixie was born when the Magical Core of Zenith was created - the realm was named after them.
A Dæmon or Witch/ers' familiar. It is the physical manifestation of the Witch/ers’ soul, which can be made visible to others once the Witch/er has created their Relic. The Dæmon is genderless and takes the form of an animal, although it is never taller than 50cm.
As a Witch/er and their Dæmon are one being, it is physically and emotionally painful for them to separate too far from each other. Through a mental connection Dæmons can communicate non-verbally with their Witch/ers and share the same dreams as them. But they are also able to hold different intuitions to their Witch/ers and reveal emotional responses to their surroundings that might not otherwise be obvious.
It is considered taboo for others to touch a Witch/ers’ Dæmon. If it is touched the witch feels a strong sense of repulsion and weakness.
A Witch/er who has become a Nymph can separate themselves from their Dæmon through great distances, but the mental connection will always persist. A Nymphs' Dæmon can also be touched by others, without it affecting them.
A Witch/er who is consumed by dark magic will lose their Dæmon. Although it doesn’t matter if the Witch/er themselves used it or if they were cursed.
