The Time that Binds
Cover Art by the lovely @guaxinimraccoon!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Oops my hand slipped and now it's an AU. Yippeee
One touch from an impossible statue sends Zepheera, a very unfortunate borrower, back in time to 1969. She's quickly found by two individuals in the same boat, with a completely mad story about how they can get back to the future.
While Zepheera can't be sure if she trusts the pair, especially that Doctor, she has very little choice but to play along if she wants to get as far away from 1969 as possible. And she desperately does.
Huge thanks again to @guaxinimraccoon for the cover art, I'm so happy with how it came out 💙💙
it's not much but i'm doing my part to feed the G/t tag o7
Its so hard to find tiny pov art :(

Soulkissed Chapter 1
Chapter 2 Chapter 3
I'm backkk with a complete story this time! It'll be a four-part story with maybeee an epilogue, and I'll update it in two to three days, so I hope you guys enjoy it!
Summary: I can't spoil this too much or it'll lose the fun ahhsush so here is a short description:
What if kissing your soulmate made one of them shrink or grow? And what would happen if that relationship didn't work out?
EDIT: I forgot to tell the age rating. It's generally PG-13 but it will contain some adult themes that may not be suitable to minors.
Anyway enjoy!
........................................
Liam was a practical man. You find someone attractive, start a conversation, and see if you connect. You might even begin a relationship, and invest in it if it's worthwhile. That's how he viewed things, simple and to the point. No red strings of fate attached. No flowery novel to complicate things.
Which is why living in a world of soulmates was like a utopia straight out of a fairytale, but this was the world Liam lived in, whether he liked it or not. Soulmates exist, and when they kiss, one of them either shrinks or grows. It's random, instantaneous, and permanent. Liam was used to this mess, he was born in it, saw it on his day-to-day life, with his dad and his four-inch-tall mother.
Yet this reality made no sense. It didn't, at all. If a person is another one's soulmate, why would a kiss make it harder for them to love each other by creating such a big size difference? It's an unnecessary obstacle for these so called "meant to be" couples. Were they really soulmates to begin with? Were "soulmates" meant to be something else all along?
Liam didn't get it, nor did he care to get it. Just lived in his lane with his beliefs and moved on.
That was until he met Evelyn.
Evelyn humbled Liam – devastatingly so. "You only know it when you feel it", now he understood what they meant. Seeing his soulmate for the first time was like catching on fire. Her oval face adorned with those sharp, blue eyes, short black hair framing her features, that sly smile and confident attitude, all of Evelyn made Liam starstruck. It was like live electricity coursing through him, like the tip of a magnet that attracted them to each other no matter the circumstance.
A man is blinded by love, Liam knew that.
He just wished he took that phrase more seriously before he kissed her.
Before the day everything came crashing down.
..........................................
He called Evelyn to come over, a determined urge begging him to kiss her, that weird impulse so strong Liam struggled to think it wasn't right. It couldn't be wrong. How could it be, when they were so perfect for each other? If one grows or shrinks, it didn't matter. Everything he believed about soulmates before didn't matter.
She came to his house, already knowing what he implied, no doubt or hesitation in her eyes. Their date had started just like any other, they sat on a tablecloth in his backyard, admiring the stars and talking about everything, as if to delay the inevitable. Until she edged closer, leaning over him, her natural glow looking even more captivating under the dim light, raw curiosity brimming in her piercing gaze. Without a word, she touched her lips with his.
And he let her.
Sparks and fireworks fluttered in Liam's stomach like static. He leaned into the kiss, heat blooming inside his chest. Never had he felt so alive and complete. The more their lips locked, the more Liam craved for it; and the more he set his old beliefs aside, the more he gave in to the kiss. He didn't care when he felt himself change. Didn't care when he felt an inward pressure increasing, bones cracking and skin stretching. Didn't care when the earth groaned beneath him as he grew. He didn't care as his chest broadened, ripping the stitches of his shirt, nor when his arms enveloped more of Evelyn's form. He didn't care when he got so big he surpassed the height of his house. He even laughed it off, looming playfully over a baffled Evelyn and joking about his sorry state. After the initial shock, she didn't mind it either, relaxing under his gentle, growing touch, relishing in the feel of his form filling up space around her.
It felt right, Liam said inside his head. He never minded being a giant. The consequences, he'd deal with that later. Right now, the only thing that mattered was his soulmate, curled up, looking tiny and cute in his cupped hand.
That's what he had said back then.
If only he could take it back.
January 2, 2026 HAPPY NEW YEAR !!
Hi, everybody,
Sorry I have not posted anything in a long time, I have been busy in real life. but I have been checking for G/t stories off and on :)
Last nite, a friend came over, we had pizza and watched some movies, THE ILLUSIONIST on Amazon Prime, DOUBT on DVD, ( I am a big fan of Meryl Streep and Amy Adams) a documentary called LAST WORD about the death of Marilyn Monroe on DVD. I am a big Marilyn Monroe fan. We had a blast.
Hope everybody had a great New Years.
Realizing that I am not employing enough of my free will to become a nuisance at work
She looked up, and saw the face of a being that was older than most of the kingdoms of man, now broken from the chains of the evil forces that bound him to this ancient city.
More concept art, I apologize if the second picture looks weird, I've never done armor in this perspective, nor am I experienced in drawing robots in this style (┬┬﹏┬┬) but I hope you like it (。・∀・)ノ゙
She thought she could make it down to the tiny hatch in the floor unnoticed, however, she did not see the man lying in the corner watching the calm waves of the sea. He spotted her, her platinum blonde hair caught the sun quite brightly that it caught his eye and tore his attention away from the vast blue beauty. This was not too uncommon, those barbarians called men often liked to invite the fairer sex for reasons he did not wish to know about, nor cared, he was a shipmate after all, he left the finer details to the captain.
As she crawled in a hurried way, he cleared his throat to get her attention, she froze, as still as a little girl's doll in a playhouse. He pushed the crate away, wanting to get a better look at her and to lead her back to the human quarters of the ship. Humans weren't allowed where giants roamed, for good reason, they shouldn't need to worry about stepping on one while they are doing the necessary tasks one must do to keep the ship maintained and running.
When she heard the scraping of the cart on the wooden floor, she booked it, she felt as if her heart was pounding faster than even her message dove. Becoming so desperate and so afraid, she was beginning to feel somewhat faint, it was all too overwhelming, first being captured and tied up in a cell, to seeing myths come to life. The Mountain Children, that is what her village called the ones who towered over the tallest trees and often described as monstrous, fat, with one eye that served the evil that once threatened mankind. Still, she ran, and she heard his booming voice that held a tone of annoyance and confusion. The floor began to quake, and she lost her footing and fell face first onto the smooth wood, she curled up in fear as a large shadow loomed over her, everything began to blur, sounds began to become muffled as she was losing consciousness, she felt something wrap around her and felt herself being lifted up before darkness took her completely.
Haihai! I recently got a new program for digital art, so this one is a bit of a test run, so sorry if it looks wonky! `(*>﹏<*)′
But this one is also part of my story, there's going to be quite a bit of pirates in it, so I suppose it's another sneak peek? I'm still working out the world, how it works, and trying to make it the best I can!

[It was my first fully completed story, and I wrote it overnight.I remember for sure that someone from our community made a post with a concept where a person is engaged in miniature products, this was the inspiration for me. But I haven't found that post, so please send it to me if you find it,I would like to mention this person. ]
A short story about a wonderful master of miniature products named Vilhelm and an borrower Anna living in his dwelling, who had to pretend to be a doll to save herself.
Enjoy reading👉👈
Sorry guys, I can't vouch for the translation, I did my best.Word count: 3248
Outside the window, leaves of all kinds of colors were flying, filling the narrow streets with three-story houses that were tightly packed together. This year's autumn was mild, with few rains, almost no thunderstorms, and no puddles the size of oceans.
The weather was inviting, but one artist was too busy with his work to take in the beauty around him.
On the second floor lived a man whose windows were almost always lit, for when he came home from work, he spent the whole night, until morning, creating miniatures.
It was a real mania, he was an ordinary man, cheerful and carefree . Acquaintances would describe him as exuding energy, good-natured and friendly, but with his own peculiarities.
"Wilhelm, you're just ... On your own mind" - said one of his colleagues at work.
Wilhelm was always talking about his hobbies or any other nonsense that caught his interest. If he liked a butterfly he saw on his way to work, he would show it to the whole department and tell them all the information he had read about it in an old, tattered book five minutes ago
How he would blow the brains of poor colleagues, how many tons of unnecessary chatter they endured.
But at least this guy was the most reliable and honest.
He would come to your aid simply out of his good nature and would not talk about dirty gossip and all the muck that spread in the team. For many people at his job, this guy was a source of moral comfort. It seemed that he didn't even notice the filth surrounding him, and he was only interested in things that brought him immense happiness and pleasure.
For example, his main occupation was making miniatures.
When he came home from work, he was never tired. Wilhelm would do chores, wash, clean, and generally take care of his household.
Then, he would spend the entire night on his large wooden table, illuminated by a lamp with a very warm light, creating his art.
His work desk, both at work and at home, was always in disarray. In fact, even Wilhelm himself was a mess.Brown, curly hair, messy curly hair, and loose, often plaid, shirts painted in muted colors. The pants are dark brown, and there are a lot of cuts, nicks, and even small burns on the hands from being careless when creating small items.
Wilhelm was very fond of creating tiny furniture, or reproducing ordinary furniture in miniature. It was a huge, meticulous task that he did only for his own pleasure.
Every night, he would create cabinets, dishes, furniture sets, carpets, and even paintings! His miniatures looked like the furnishings of a castle, so elaborate they were. But he didn't stop there; Wilhelm would create rooms, houses, and, my God...How skillfully and with a soul they were created.
It was impossible to tell from the photo that the house was a dollhouse. Guests rarely visited him, but they always admired them. They were a little surprised by his hobby.
However, he didn't care about negative opinions about his work; the most important thing was that he loved it, and nothing else mattered to him.
Wilhelm could create miniatures all night long, spending hours at his desk.
And this was to the benefit of a tiny woman who lived not far away.....
More precisely, secretly living in the same house...
The woman's name was Anna, long features, a slightly curved nose, curly hair of dark brown color.
The entrance to her house was behind an old, intricate clock, with hanging cones and a cuckoo. which, despite its age, still smelled of cedar and ticked. The house was much further away, and like any borrower, the path to it was thorny, through the entire wall, with a bunch of doors and barricades from mice and other creatures.
After passing through all these catacombs, Anna got out and carefully looked out of the clock.
The lights went out all over the house, and only the dim, warm glow of the lamp could be seen from the human's room.
"Great, then the time has come," Anna thought.
After that, she threw a long rope out of the window where the cuckoo was supposed to fly out, attached to it with a band of four fish hooks.
The rope reached the floor, and the woman quickly descended like a tightrope artist. Every movement was well-practiced, as it was a daily routine for her, and she had learned to move quickly since childhood, when she was running away from rats, cats, or crows.
In other words, for the borrower, this is the same daily activity.
After descending, she threw the hook back to herself, quickly wound it up and attached it to her belt, and followed the familiar path through the hole in the wall where the radiator pipes passed.
She had to crawl right under the hot pipe so as not to burn herself. It was dangerous to go around the hall and the kitchen through the corridor, because there was no guarantee that a person would not come out of nowhere, and there was no place to hide. She had to use this difficult method.
After crawling under the wall, Anna found herself under a huge table with only one chair, and they were placed right next to the corner where her secret passage was, which was very convenient.
Not far away, there was a curtain in calm orange and green tones, with numerous patterns and flowers. Right behind it was a netted tulle with ornaments, which was easy to climb up.
Anna climbed up the curtain, and as she did so, she could see the kitchen from both a human height and a ceiling height. She had reached a niche with three slits, and one of the slits had nothing but a single curtain rod left by the borrower.
In her usual manner, she took a running jump and grabbed the cornice like a real Tarzan, sliding under the ceiling. When she reached the end, she was thrown forward onto the refrigerator,
Anna stood up, brushed herself off, and walked through the piles of junk in the form of bags, boxes, and jars filled with small iron objects, keys, buttons, and other items she needed.
She would definitely borrow these items, but unfortunately, not today.
Her only goal was the mint tea that was on the shelf between the upper cabinets of the kitchen set.
The lady's taste was quite similar to that of the person who lived nearby,
and both of them enjoyed aromatic herbal tea, especially mint tea.
The only obstacle to reaching her goal was a cabinet with no holes to climb through.
However, the woman always had a pair of suction cups and pieces of plasticine on hand.
A real spy from old movies and TV series, but when you have to stay in secret and be inconspicuous in order to survive, believe me, you'll definitely learn all these skills from your experience.
Step by step, she reached the shelf where the tea was kept in a small jar, which she easily opened.
She had long ago created a kind of "hand-made lockpick" that resembled a sharp, large shoe spoon.
-Grh...Huh, aha!!!
As soon as the victorious sound of the cork opening was heard, the girl immediately shone with happiness.
-huhuhuu, finally drink tea! In some way.
She whispered with a smile to the ears, almost like a cheshire cat. Anna zahurchuna a whole bag of tea, tightly tied, hung near the hook and closed the lid back.
She went to the edge and was going to–
The sound of hurried footsteps echoed down the hallway.
-OH NO!
Anna looked around and wanted to run behind the jars and vases nearby, but...
A giant silhouette, much larger than the petite girl, appeared in the kitchen, right under the shelves she was standing on.
"HOW DID HE GET HERE SO FAST?!"
She thought.
She could only see the guy's forehead and eyes, and her blood ran even colder when his gaze rose to her in a fraction of a second.
-Iiiip!!!
The girl screamed and froze in place, her hands pressed against her thighs, her legs slightly buckled.
The only option for survival in this situation was to pretend to be a doll. She was well aware that "this won't work... It shouldn't work... How naive can a person be to mistake a real, small person for a doll?"
However, her hope remained, and as she prayed silently, she tried to make a forgiving face and closed her eyes.
And so as not to see his own death, and so as not to get caught in a blink.
Wilhelm, having inadvertently raised his eyes, at first did not notice the beauty standing in front of him.( apparently thinking about how to arrange his new, wonderful dollhouse). But after a couple of moments he realized that something in the usual setting of that shelf was different.
The guy even shuddered at the realization and looked at the doll again.
-hah
A quiet, admiring sigh was heard, his eyes widened and blinked quickly, not believing what was happening.
The most beautiful doll, as if alive, stood motionless on the shelf, as if he had put it there in a hurry and forgotten about it.
It was exactly what Wilhelm thought, mesmerized by the beauty and detail of the doll, immediately reaching out his hands to it, completely ignoring the suction cups and pieces of plasticine left on the wall of the cabinet.
He carefully and slowly wrapped his arms around the girl, fearing that one strong touch would shatter her into a thousand pieces.
Meanwhile, Anna's mind was in turmoil.
Her heart was racing, and she couldn't see what was happening around her, but she could feel the man's large fingers wrapped around her waist, neck, and knees.
With every breath, she risked exposing herself.Due to the greater anxiety, her breathing was getting heavier, her pulse was increasing, and she was in a vicious cycle that she couldn't escape from.
She tried to maintain a calm expression, but even without seeing the giant human eyes, she could feel their intense gaze upon her, like a moth with a broken wing, cornered and ready to die. In the next moment, she experienced a small fraction of the human's strength as he effortlessly moved her forward, lifting her off the shelf and placing her on his palm.
She was brought closer, almost to her face, and she could feel the man's breath directed directly at her.
"Incredible!"
Wilhelm whispered.
"How could I have done this?"
I must have bought this doll from that old craftsman, yes! I did stop by that old-timer shop today, the one that sells old junk like caskets, porcelain, and dolls !
It seems that when I came home, I was in a rush and left you here... Forgive me...
Ehh, shame on me!
Wilhelm said bitterly and intentionally hit his forehead against the wall of the cabinet in a fit of emotion.
–Don’t worry, you won’t be standing here!
I've just finished!
You'll make a great doll furniture model, hehe.
The guy said with a smile, and he was once again lit up, carrying the doll to his room.
But Anna didn't see his smile, and she almost gave herself away by startling at the sudden impact of the man against the cabinet and the accompanying sound.
"God! What's going on?!
He... he's talking to me?!
This guy really thinks I'm a doll??DID IT WORK?!
But why is he talking to me?!
God, have I stumbled upon a madman?Save me!I hope I get out of this alive"
But the guy didn't pay attention to the doll's trembling, pulse, and breathing. Instead, he enthusiastically carried her over to his side, treating her with care as if she were a particularly fragile object. He then placed her on the table. Next, he reached for a small pocket-sized camera that was lying on the top shelf above the table. This camera was used for capturing landscapes, butterflies, and small streets. It was his second and equally beloved hobby.
And of course, with the help of the same camera, he took pictures of his works, because it was impractical and troublesome to carry them around just to show them off.
While Vilhelm was fiddling around at the top, Anna opened her eyes and quickly looked around, noticing that she was sitting under a lamp on a table with a bunch of junk, stationery, boxes, beautiful painted jars, balls, sewing supplies, figures, and so on.
The room was dark, but it was clear that it was a small room compared to the rest of the house, with a carpet on the wall to block out noise from the neighbors, and a patterned rug that formed a complete picture with the sun at the center. There were also several framed paintings next to the large rug.
There was a narrow dresser and a messy bed with a warm blanket made from fabric squares.
But she only noticed it for a moment, although she remembered it because she had never been in this room before. The risk was high, and there was no need to sit down.
What was more important was that she had an opportunity to escape, but as soon as she took a step, the giant reached out to grab her.
-Grrrh!
She grumbled and assumed a similar position as before.
-So, let's see.
The guy carefully took her hand between his thumb and index finger.
His face was very close, examining the borrower from head to toe, but his gaze was now fixed on her hand and how real it seemed.
-My God...He's really a master...If you look closely, you can even see the veins!
Wilhelm whispered, carefully and slowly lifting the girl's hand and releasing it.
-So it's moving, great!!!
He reached for his recent creation, a sofa.
It was an exquisite sofa with green and light green stripes, and its handles and legs were gilded.
It looked exactly like a human sofa, with deliberate wear and scratches. Anna opened one eye out of curiosity, and she was shocked by what she saw! She almost opened her eyes completely, which she thought would be her death sentence.
"Of course, I knew that the man spent his nights making things, but what kind of things were they?
How...How could that be?
Why do people like that at all??!! They don't know about the existence of borrowers, so why would they need it?
Did he know......No, it's impossible...Then he might have made at least one attempt to find me..."
-M?!
Slipped out of the borrower's mouth barely audibly, when she was seated first on the phalanx of a finger, then on some soft surface, presumably a sofa. Held by two giant fingers on the stomach and back as well. The man moved her hand, put his leg over his leg, the other hand on the handle of the sofa, but most of all it was not this that stirred her, but how gentle the touch was, in contrast to the fussiness that this person was used to.
The borrower noticed that he was always in a hurry, clumsy, and fussy, but here... Here and now, they were alone, and she couldn't imagine that this man could be so... Careful...
His every touch was gentle and precise, like a true craftsman working with delicate items.
For the first time, she began to relax... She enjoyed feeling the warmth emanating from his giant hands, which she barely saw, and his persistent, warm breath became pleasant and soothing...After spending so much time alone, the girl was starving for attention, and the amount of affection and admiration she received from the man began to please her.
Anna smiled discreetly, modestly, and heard click after click, after which the man would move her from one place to another, change her position, and take a photograph.
As much as possible, she kept her eyes open and continued to admire her surroundings.
"Oh, how wonderful it would be to see all this in my own home... With what love he created this place, it is so beautiful."
With every movement, her breath would catch and then resume, and her pulse would quicken as his giant hands pressed against her.Every touch felt so pleasant and gentle, full of care, even though it was only directed at the "doll".
He dragged her around for a long time, taking photos of almost every creation, which made Anna very happy.
But after a while, his hands slowed down and eventually stopped, wrapping around the girl again, and didn't move for a long time. Anna began to suspect something was wrong.
"Have I been discovered?" She thought.
Then the girl opened her eyes and carefully turned around...
To her surprise, the man had fallen asleep with his face buried in his elbow and his arm resting on the table. He had fallen asleep with Anna in his hand. Hobbies are great, but not when you have to sacrifice your sleep.
Seeing this, the girl smiled with genuine affection.
-Heh)
With a little melancholy and a smile, she looked at it and quietly approached the guy's face. She first placed her petite hand on his nose, which was comparable to the size of her entire body, and then placed her head on it.
She hesitated, exhaled, and whispered,
-Thank you...
She froze in that moment for a few seconds, as it was probably her last chance to get close to such a huge, scary, and strong creature as a human.
She took a couple of steps back and turned her head to see the camera lying on the table.
"I'm sorry, but I'll have to erase all your work..."
She approached the camera and began flipping through and examining her photos.
They were blurry and unclear due to the old camera, but they were beautiful and magical. She had never seen herself as beautiful and radiant as she was in these photos.
And the main object was not even the furniture, not the setting, but she...
Anna was terribly touched, but in order to keep the borrowers' secret, she had to erase everything, every photo with her participation..
Out of interest, she also looked at the other photos.. It was unusual to see such distant lands as a nearby street, especially from a person's perspective.
But the lady couldn't stay for long, so she untied her hook and turned off the lamp for Wilhelm, then climbed down from the table and ran back to her house, feeling a deep sense of warmth, happiness, and love in her heart.
The next morning, the guy woke up in a daze, firstly because he had slept on the table, and secondly because he was afraid that his beautiful doll was gone.
Wilhelm frantically searched the table, cabinets, and the room, but he couldn't find it.
There were no photos left...
"It must have been a dream. The most beautiful and best dream of my life...
God, let it happen again."
The guy sighed sadly, left a pile of sketches of the doll from his dream on the table, and started getting ready for work.
This was the end of the story of the man and the borrower

Writing, rehearsing, directing and shooting the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” was the thrill of a lifetime because I got to be reunited with my Eras Tour family!! I wanted each one-take scene to feel like a live performance and remind us all of how it felt to be at those shows together. Making every moment count. It’s a journey through the chaotic world of show business. I loved working with Rodrigo Prieto, Ethan Tobman and Mandy Moore to dream up these visuals. A huge thank you to this massive cast who kept it 💯 and also kept the secret of this video even existing. It’s out on YouTube NOW!
