NIGHT IN:

the night plays out as the four of you enter the baxter building after going shopping. "okay, so who's up for my famous spaghetti?" ben asks as we pile into the kitchen. "me! i'll help." johhny grins, smiling like a baby.

you and reed sit on the island stools as you both begin watching your friends cook. herbie helps along, beeping in concern every time johnny does something.

around 40 minutes later, dinners finished as you're all sat at the table. 'this is pretty good- nice job, guys." you praise the two men as reed agrees. "yea, it's not shitty for once." he adds, earning an unimpressed look from the two chefs.

"thanks, reed. always a pleasure." johnny comments under his breath.

AFTER A BAD MISSON:

you all walk into the living room, defeated after something went wrong. it was either the ship, someone not helping enough, or sometihng just not working. but for what you know- it was all.

everyone is pissed that you couldn't bring down you enemies and it really helped the already tense aroma from the suspense of the battle from this morning. "well that was a bust," ben says, earning a groan of agreement from johnny.

"yeah, you can say that again." you mumble, stressed out and annoyed from today. "we did our best." johnny says as reed scoffs. "yeah well our 'best' wasn't enough. we're the fantastic FOUR not the fantastic FAIL." he comments, getting up angrily and going to the bedroom.

you hear the door slam, and earn looks from ben and johnny. johnny raises his eyebrow, "you gonna go?" you pause, getting up. "yeah. i am."

IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER ONE OF YOU GUYS GETS INJURED:

the three men wait afraid in the hallway of the hospital that you were checked into. you see, after the energy drained out of you while failing to finish off galactus, you were defeated. limp, on the cold cement of new york city.

"mr. richards? she's awake." the nurse says, informing them about your current status. "you're welcome to all come in but she may be disoriented." the staff informs them as they nod.

"okay, thank you." reed expresses his gratitude, as he steps in first. your husband. he walks to the foot of the hospital bed you're in, the other two waiting by the door, wanting to give reed his moment with you first.

"how're you feeling, honey?" he asks, coming closer to push some of your hair behind your ears. "i've been a little better." you murmur, "but, i'll get there." you remind him. "yeah, you will. that's my girl." reed nods.

POST BATTLE UNWINDING:

the baxter building is quiet as the late night arrives. you're all sat on the couches, watching a movie after your long day. battling space enemies you didn't know existed nor had a problem with your group.

"this is nice," johnny starts. "it's nice being able to sit here and reflect on our day as superheroes." that earns a chuckle from reed, who had his arm currently around your waist.

"why the inspirational mood, lava girl?" he teases, loving to make harmless fun of johnny. "well excuse me for wanting to be nice or whatever. jesus." johnny says, making you laugh against reed's chest.

"oh, come on, don't be so uptight, stormy. he's just playing with you." you say, reminding your brother that your husband can be a jackass. "but it was funny. i love that nickname."

Shoot For The Moon

Since Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur is announced to end after Season 2B, here’s a piece I did of Lunella Lafayette/Moon Girl in a version of her Fantastic Four suit based off of the suit designs for The Fantastic Four: First Steps and her appearance in Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur Vol. 1 #30.

Finally saw The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

I really liked it! I wasn’t expecting it to be a perfect movie, I just really wanted it to be a good representation of these characters and their world. And it was! It was just a great exploration of why I love these characters.

It really got to the heart of Reed and Sue which was the biggest thing I wanted. Previous adaptations didn’t really understand them beyond very shallow tropes. But even though First Steps didn’t go step-by-step with every detail with the comics, the movie really did make them feel as close to they should be in comics.

I know some people might be disappointed that Galactus didn’t do crazy Kaiju stuff in this movie, but I think that this Galactus is more true to the original vision of Lee and Kirby.

Really my only gripes would be that it’d probably be improved by a few scenes and dialogues here and there, but when my complaint is that the movie could have been longer, you probably did good.

Now #ReleaseTheMalkovichCut! I want my Red Ghost!
