matthew: hey are you doing anything special tomorrow?
Colton: No I don't think so why?
"Well, Iâve got a better one."
"What happens if you donât pay your exorcist?"
"Doubt it."
"I don't know, what?"
"Thatâs the stupidest thing Iâve heard in my whole 19 years of living."
"Oh, c'mon, Cass!"
"I was just trying to be funny."
{flickin' ashes} colton&matthew
The night was significantly warm. It had been warmer than usual during the day, and then the clouds rolled in as the sun went down and all the residual heat was trapped in Hillsboro. The warmth would've been enjoyable, if the events of that day had been enjoyable. But they were far from it.
Matthew was killed.
He was supposed to go and hang out with Matthew. But before he left, Kiana came to the apartment. The girl was in tears, and could barely tell Colton what had happened. Once she did, Colton's world came crashing down.
He and Matthew had grown so close since they met at the meeting. They hung out a bunch, both of them putting the whole 'I tried to kill you' thing behind them.
How could he have let another person he cared about get taken away from him?
Once he found out, he just sat in his room, and sobbed. Cassie tried to ask him what was wrong, but he just couldn't tell her. He couldn't speak from all the crying, and he was afraid to tell her because he was sure she would make fun of him.
After sobbing for a straight two hours, Colton finally got out of bed. Cassie was gone, but he didn't mind. As soon as he heard the news, all he wanted to do was run and find Matthew and bring him back. But he knew he couldn't. He was already too weak from using his powers.
But Matthew was his friend. Matthew was worth it.
After a quick change of clothes, and a quick sandwich, Colton was off. And he knew exactly where he was going. He power walked through the forest, straight to the clearing where the hunter's did all the burnings.
The clearing opened, and there it was. The stake, and Matthew's charred body tied to it.
What a bunch of idiots, he thought, as he trekked towards the scene. They didn't even clean up their mess. Amateurs. Colton never even liked hunting, and he knew better than to leave the evidence out in the blue like that.
He approached the scene, and his heart dropped. The boy was terribly burned, but still recognizable. Colton blinked back the tears that threatened to fall, and got to work.
He cut away the ropes around Matthew's body, the charred ropes falling away with ease. He carefully took the lifeless body down from the stake, and laid him on the lush grass beneath them.
Without thinking twice, Colton grabbed Matthew's burnt hand, and squeezed his eyes shut, and concentrated all his power on Matthew. He could almost physically feel the power leaving him, becoming drained within seconds.
Colton breathed heavily, opening his eyes. He looked down at the boy, tears threatening to fall once again.
"Matthew?" He asked his voice coming out in a choked whisper.
"Ah, yes, the cure for a hangover: coffee made by your favorite brother."
"Made with love for my favorite sister."
"And don't listen to Felix. I didn't spit in it."
Whats the best thing about being in the undecided?
"Um, there's a lot of great things! I can't pick one."Â Matthew.

As soon as Matthew finished speaking, he could hear the killer- er, boy- eh Colton begin to freak out, because of what? He burst into flames in a harmless dream? Matthew looked at the raven haired boy in the beanie, and pursed his lips, nodding his head slowly. âYeah, but then I saw myself bleed out so I highly doubt youâre going to burst into flames anytime soon.â Matthew gave him a small smile and then turned his attention back to the front.
"Oh, Colton and Cassie, sorry we didnât give you any heads up to what we were going to be talking about in todays meeting," Anna spoke slowly, sounding empathetic.Â
"Yes, about that, last week we gave each member a potion to drink before they slept to give them precognitive dreams, and Matthew just shared with us what his was, more or less," Alex spoke in a high manner. Matthew sure as hell shared less of his dream, he was definitely not going to share the rest of his dream. It was too weird.
"Thats the end of the meeting, right?" Kiana spoke from behind him, and he saw as Alex and Anna nodded up in the front. "Alright, so meetings done, yâall can either leave, or stay, or what ever I dont care honestly." Then Kiana rose from her chair, and left.
Mathew smiled, and then got up from his chair as well, starting to head for the exit, âBye!â he shouted.
Colton dropped his gaze to the floor, when Matthew spoke, and nodded slowly at his statement. He was right. He had nothing to worry about, it was just a harmless dream.
Then, Alex and Anna filled the twins in on what they were talking about. Colton nodded respectively, even though he still had no idea what was going on or what they were talking about. What was precognitive dream? What was the purpose?
The meeting was suddenly over. "That was quick," Cassie sneered, obviously grumpy. Colton rolled his eyes, and took another sip of his juice pouch. "Bye!" His eyes widened when he noticed Matthew making his way towards the door.Â
"Wait, Matthew," Colton called, speed walking up to the male. "H- hey, um" Colton scratched the back of his neck awkwardly, searching for something to say.
"I'm, uh, I'm sorry me and my sister tried to kill you?"
What an idiot.
{welcome to the family} colton&matthew feat. cassie
Matthew held a juice pouch in his hands, as he listened to everyone talk about their precognitive dreams. Matthew kept quiet though, just listening to everyone. He felt weird, if someone was going to ask him about his. What was he even supposed to say? Yeah, Demons came after me and I saw my dead mother tell me something cryptic.Â
"Theyâre here," Jessicaâs voice rang out beside him, and Matthew laughed. Oh yeah, he almost forgot about the new members. He was too busy thinking about how this one boy burned to ashes right in front of him, the boy who tried to kill him a three weeks ago. Matthew sunk into his chair, what a strange life.
Then Matthew heard the door to the shed open, and someone yelped, âYou canât just walk in-â
A chorus of chuckles erupted all around Matthew, and he turned to see who the two members were, and when he faced the raven haired boy and girl, his heart stopped.
Killers. The cute boy killer, who burst into flames in his dream.
Matthe instantly averted his eyes, as everyone greeted the two new members. Theyâre witches? Matthew let out a loud laugh, eyes stuck looking forward away from everyone. They tried to kill him.Â
As soon as everyone greeted the two killer twins, except for Matthew, everything seemed to get serious. Surprisingly, Alex Green skipped his whole speech about the Undecided and went straight back to talking about the precognitive dreams.
"So Matthew, we haven't heard from you yet, what was your dream about?" Alex spoke in a teacher like manner.
Matthew sank deeper into his chair and then turned to look at Colton. What was he supposed to say? Breathing out heavily, Matthew raised his arm to point at the cute raven haired killer.
"He burst into flames in front of me," Matthew started off, and then he looked back at Alex, "I saw my dead mother, I saw a killer version of myself, got kidnapped by some demons I think, and I was burried in a coffin."Â Silence passed over the whole room, and Matthew turned to look back at Colton, but then averted his gaze again. "That was pretty much it, Iâd rather move on now."
Colton stared at the brown haired boy with wide eyes, but eventually adverted his eyes when Kiana spoke. "So, I'm gonna tell you everyone's names, and it's your choice whether you remember them or not." A small amount of laughter erupted.
The boy and the girl that stood in the back were called Alex and Anna, and it turned out Alex was the leader. The people that sat in the circle were then named off. Natalie, Jessica, and of course, Matthew.
"'M Cas, this is Colton." His sister spoke, gesturing to him. He waved once again, and then Alex spoke up, advancing towards the circle of chairs.
"So Matthew, we haven't heard from you yet, what was your dream about?" The boy spoke, his tone serious. Colton furrowed his brows. Dreams? Why are they talking about dreams?
Matthew's eyes met his, and Colton's eyes widened. The cute boy he tried to kill was looking at him! Now he was- pointing at him? Then, when the boy spoke, Colton's jaw dropped.
He burst into flames in his dream?! The way Matthew said it, so blunt, was terrifying. "What?!" Colton gasped, staring at Matthew with narrow eyes. "Me?!" He jabbed his chest with his index finger. "Flames? Fire? Burn? What?!"
"But that was your choice. You could have told me at any time, but you chose to wait and fucked everythinâ up.â
"Oh, please, Cassie."
"We both know that if I told you, you would've flipped out no matter what."
{welcome to the family} colton&matthew feat. cassie
"This is it," Cassie spoke, parking her car across the street from the house they were supposed to meet at. Cassie had just found out she and Colton were witches, and they chose to join the Undecided coven.
Well, actually, Cassie chose the Undecided. But, Colton followed her like a lost puppy, as usual. Tonight, they were to attend a welcoming meeting, to meet the other members.
Colton took a deep breath, and climbed out the car. He adjusted the dark red beanie that sat on his long raven hair, and followed close behind Cassie. The two walked past the house, and towards a large shed beside it, where they were commanded to go.
His twin walked quickly in front of him, waltzing right into the large shed. "Cassie!" Colton shrieked, grabbing onto her arm. "You can't just walk in-"
"Yes she can." A girl's voice interrupted his, and he looked up to see a colored girl smirking at him. "O- oh, I-" The few people that littered the shed laughed, and the girl spoke again.
"Don't trip, we're all glad you're here. I'm Kiana." Colton and Cas waved politely, and laughed nervously. "There's juice pouches by the door, take one." Kiana spoke, gesturing to the door.
Colton turned around, and sure enough, there sat a box of Capri Suns. He and Cas both grabbed one, exchanging a look as they did. He looked around the shed, taking in his surroundings.
The room was scattered with many green plants, different textures popping everywhere. There was a table towards the back, where a boy and a girl stood, chatting. There were a few chairs arranged in a circle in the middle of the room.
He looked at the faces of kids that sat in the chairs. There was Kiana, a blonde girl, a girl with curly brown hair, and-
Oh God.
Colton gasped loudly, grabbing Cassie's arm roughly. "What the hell?" She hissed, shooting her twin a dirty look. "Cassie, look! It's that kid we tried to kill!" He said, pointing at the shaggy haired boy- Matthew.
Cassie laughed lightly, and shrugged. "Oops." She spoke, taking a sip from her juice pouch.
Are you relived you don't have to hide anymore?
"More than relieved."
"âŚitâs weird being around other witches⌠and not killing them.â
"Now you know how I've felt for like, nine years."
{bittersweet symphony} parker&colton ft. cassie
"I- I just killed my dadâŚ" Parker whispered, not taking his eyes off the lifeless body on the floor. He always daydreamed about killing his dad, but he never thought he would actually do it.
He could hear Colton gasp, and the boy began to freak out. Parker shook his head, and pinched the bridge of his nose. Everything was happening all at once, and it was making his head hurt.
"H- he wanted me to kill you guys! What was I supposed to do?!" Parker shrieked, throwing his arm out to his side. "Maybe have a rational conversation?! Agh, nevermind. I have to find Cassie and tell her." He sighed. All he ever wanted from his dad was a rational conversation. But he always received the most irrational consequences.
Parker leaned up against the wall of the nest, rubbing his forehead with his free hand. Colton babbled on about pointless things as he walked home, making Parkerâs head hurt even more.
"I think sheâll be home by now," Colton finally said something relevant, and Parker listened to the sound of the doorknob turning. "Cas-" Colton stopped mid sentence, and Parker furrowed his brows. "Colton?" He asked, pushing off the wall.
He heard Colton sob on the other end, and his eyes widened. âColton! Colton, whatâs wrong?!â He shouted, making his way out of the nest. A scream sounded from Coltonâs end, and Parker bounded into his house.
"Colton, fucking answer me! What the hell is going on?!" Parker screamed. Coltonâs sobs became clearer, and Parkerâs heart sunk as the boy tried to speak to him.
Without missing a beat, Parker hung up on Colton, and sprinted out of his house. Driving would be no use, there was traffic. He would take the shortcut through the forest, the opening just a block from the apartment.
He bounded through the trees, snaking in between them. He pumped his arms back in forth, his feet moving faster than his thoughts. In a matter of minutes, he came upon the opening of the forest, and ran the last block.
Colton came into sight. âColton,â Parker breathed, seeing the boy sitting in the doorway, sobbing. âWhatâs wro-â
No.
That was his first thought when he saw her. He stared up at her lifeless body, swinging back and forth ever so slightly. The sense of nausea that had overwhelmed him earlier came back. He let out something like a gag and a sob, and shook his head, tearing his eyes away from the sight.
Why couldnât have been me?
Suicide. Something Parker had contemplated many times before. Cas beat him to it.
"P- Park- er," Colton choked from below him. "I- I cantâŚ" Colton tried to speak, but more tears spilled over. Parker wouldnât cry. He couldnât. He had to be the strong one this time, since Cas wasnât there to be the rock.
"You canât what," He choked, adverting his eyes from the horrific sight in front of him. "I- I c-" The boy stopped, and sobbed again. he took a deep breath, and spoke again. "Y- You ha- have to get he- her down," Colton finally said, and Parkerâs heart dropped.
All the color drained out of his face, and he felt like hanging himself. Tears stung his eyes, but he wouldnât let them fall. He was Coltonâs rock now. He let out a shaky sigh, and stepped around Colton. He still kept his eyes off Cassie, as he passed her into the kitchen.
With shaky hands, he grabbed a knife, and trudged back into the living room where the love of his life hung from a noose. He looked at Colton, who was still on his knees, sobbing, then finally looked at Cas.
He couldnât look for more than two seconds. He took a deep breath, and carefully climbed on the table. He gripped the rope with one hand, and brought the bade of the knife up with his other hand.
He bit down on the inside of his cheeks to keep from crying out. He carefully sawed through the rope. The rope began to fray slightly, and soon was just being held together by a few threads. He cut through the last few threads with ease.
And with a horrible thump, Cassieâs body hit the floor.
Colton barely heard Parker's voice over his own sobbing. He didn't even look at the male as he advanced towards him, he kept his eyes on his sister hanging in front of him.
The boy was a mess. His thoughts were all over the place; he couldn't think straight. But who could blame him? His sister just killed herself. What was he gonna do now? He couldn't walk this world without his other half.
He choked out Parker's name, and tried to speak. He choked on his own words. More tears fell from his blue eyes, running down his neck and soaking the collar of his shirt.
He heard Parker's voice again, and let out a sob shaking his head. "I- I c-" He stopped, and sucked in a deep breath. He could barely even think right now, let alone speak.
"Y- You ha- have to get he- her down," He finally spoke, doubling over a bit as he did. He didn't want to dump all of this on Parker, but he couldn't do it.
Cas was right. He was weak.
He kept his eyes on the floor as Parker cut Cassie down. He let out a yelp as the dead weight hit the floor, a thump sounding through the apartment.
"Why..." He breathed out, looking at the huddled body on the floor. He shook his head again, sobbing freely now. "How could you do this?" He asked Cassie, even though she couldn't hear him anymore.
He looked around the apartment, and Parker was gone. Colton didn't care. He didn't care about anything anymore. Cassie had killed herself. All because she was a witch. They were both witches.
Colton gasped lightly, a realization falling over him. Oh, how could he be so stupid! He sat here sulking for however long, when he could've solved the problem immediately. He would use the gift he had kept from cassie for over nine years.
Necromancy.
He quickly wiped the stray tears off his cheeks, and crawled over to Cassie's body. "I hope you didn't think you were gonna get away this easy..." Colton whispered, and he took his sister's cold hand in his.
He closed his eyes, and focused.
Cassie? He tried their telepathy.
Colton?
{bittersweet symphony} parker&colton ft. cassie
Parker smiled when Cassie took his hands in hers, and began to speak. âRight. So, this is what happened. Basically, Colton got    â A look of confusion ran over her face. Parker furrowed his brows as Cas looked around living room, as if she was searching for someone.
Parker watched the girl closely as her eyes widened in fear, and she slowly rose to her feet. âBabe?â Parker asked, standing up after the girl. âWhyâŚâ She choked out, while holding her head, moving away from him. Her whole body was trembling.Â
"Why can I hear you?" Cassie asked, with her back turned to him. Parker looked around, confused. What was going on? Cassie looked down right horrified. He didnât know what to do.
"Go⌠away!" She shouted, making Parker jump slightly. "Cassie, who are you talking to?!" Parker shouted, but the girl ignored him. She tore her hands through her hair, several pieces of raven strands falling to the floor.
Parker took a step towards Cassie, but she shouted again, answering his previous question. âGET OUT OF MY HEAD, COLTON!â He furrowed his brows. She was talking to⌠Colton? But how? In⌠her⌠head?
He kept his worried eyes on her as she shook her head frantically, banging her fists against her head. âNO! NO NO NO! SHUT UP! GO AWAY!â Cas cried, bounding out of Parkerâs house, leaving the front door wide open.
"Cassie!" He shouted after her, but she was gone. "God dammit!" He shouted, slamming his head against the doorframe. He was about to run out after her, but his cell phone began to ring in his pocket. He quickly pulled his phone out, and breathed a sigh of relief when he read Coltonâs name on the screen.
"Colton-"
"Do you know where Cassie is?" Cotlon spoke frantically, cutting off Parker. His heart sank down to his feet, and he sighed. "She just left, dude." Colton groaned loudly on the other end. "Crap, do you know where she went?!"
"I was hoping you would know. Why? Whatâs going on?" He asked, raking a hand through his dirty blonde locks. Colton let out a shaky breath, and answered Parkerâs question.
"She just found out sheâs a witch." Colton said carefully. "Weâre both witches." Everything stopped. Parkerâs heart stopped beating, his blood stopped flowing through his veins.
The two people he had known for his whole entire life were witches. Parker swallowed loudly, then spoke. âYou guys are witches?â It was crazy to think, Cassie was the one thing she hated the most. The thing she killed almost everyday. No wonder Colton never did anything on hunts.
"Witches?" Parkerâs blood turned to ice, the hairs on the back of his neck standing up. He turned around to face the one and only; Edgar Raven. The man that single handedly ruined Parkerâs life.
"Such a shame," his dad spoke, shaking his head. "I always liked Cassie. Colton, too. He had so much potential." Parker had taken his phone away from his ear, but he was still on the line with Colton.
His dad turned on his heel, and went through the back door of their house, heading towards the nest. Parker regained his composure, and quickly followed suit.
He had no idea what his dad was doing, or thinking. He didnât even know what he was doing himself. This was a lot of information to take in, but there was no time to do so.
Parker walked into the nest, just in time to see his father taking a gun off the wall. His eyes widened, and he swallowed the lump in his throat. âThis was her favorite gun,â Mr. Raven spoke, examining the gun. âShe wouldâve wanted to go out this way.â
Parker felt like throwing up. It all came together at once. His dad wanted to kill Cassandra and Colton. He shouldâve known. His dad held the gun out to him, and Parker looked at him in shock.
"What the fuck?" Parker spat, throwing his hands out to his sides. He had set his phone on the table when he came in, and Colton was still on the line. "Whatâs the matter? I mean, you would want to be the one to kill them, right?" His dad asked, tilting his head to the side.
"You want me to kill them?!" Parker asked, his eyes widening. God, was this man insane? Most likely. âYouâre asking me to kill my girlfriend, and my best friend?!" With no emotion, Edgar Raven nodded his head.
Oh, how Parkerâs blood boiled.
His whole body trembled with anger. His thoughts were a blur. How could he want his son to do this? Why did this have to be Parkerâs life? It was time to end Edgar Ravenâs God Complex.
Without a second thought, Parker ripped one of the many knives off the wall of the nest. With a shout- something similar to a war cry- Parker lunged at his dad. The blade plunged deep into the manâs neck, and the force Parker came at him with knocked both of them of their feet.
Breathing heavily, Parker scrambled up from the floor, looking down at his dad. The boy let out something like a sob, a look of horror spreading across his face. The knife blade was deep in Edgar Ravenâs neck. There was blood pouring from the wound, bubbling around the handle of the knife.
The man struggled the breath, bringing his arms up, and pulling the blade from his neck. It clattered to the ground. Mr. Raven coughed, blood spurting from his mouth. Parker didnât know what to do. He didnât want to help him, that was for sure.
After a few moments the older man began gasping violently. With one last gasp, the manâs body went limp.
Edgar Raven was dead.
The man that made Parker Ravenâs life a living hell, was dead.
Parker swallowed the lump in his throat, and looked down at his hands; which were shaking terribly. Blood- his dadâs blood covered his left hand. He let out a shaky breath, and picked his phone back up, staring down at his fatherâs dead body.
"Colton?" Parker asked swallowing hard. "Hm?" The boy responded.
"Youâll never guess what I just did."
Please, come home, we need to talk about this. Colton was sitting in the middle of the forest, trying to communicate with his twin. He couldn't really channel her thoughts in the moment, but he could feel the anxiety and the confusion that ran through them.
'Why...'Â He sat up a bit when he heard Cassie's voice in his head. So she could hear him! 'Why can I hear you?'Â She questioned, and Colton twiddled his thumbs. Should he tell her now? Or wait?
Now.
Because, Cassie, you're telepathic, and so am I. He just came right out and said it- well, thought it. But now she knew. She knew what Colton had been keeping from her for nine years.
When there was no response, Colton quickly talked to her again. Iâm so sorry I never told you, I just fi   Â
'Go... away!'Â Her voice was loud in his head, echoing in his mind. He wasn't going to go away just yet. He had to explain himself. He didn't really know how their telepathy worked, but he was sure she could somehow block his thoughts. He didn't want her to find out how to do that anytime soon.
Dad was a witch, okay? He had a witch fiance but he left her for mom, a human, and she was so mad she killed them both. I found out about my powers a long time ago. You didnât because youâve repressed them. It makes sense if you thi   Â
His thought was interrupted by her shouting. 'GET OUT OF MY HEAD, COLTON!' He clenched his jaw. She couldn't get rid of him that easy.
Why do you think you sometimes think things that donât sound like yourself?  Because theyâre my thoughts, Cas. He was hoping she would calm down, but she did the exact opposite.
'NO! NO NO NO! SHUT UP! GO AWAY!' She cried, and her thoughts stopped. Cassie? Cassie, c'mon! No response. Colton sighed heavily, and leaned against one of the trees. Then it hit him.
Parker. She was probably with Parker.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket, and quickly dialed Parker's number. After a few rings, Parker picked up.He began to speak, but Colton cut him off.
"Do you know where Cassie is?" Colton spoke, his voice frantic. "She just left, dude." Parker said, and Colton groaned. "Crap, do you know where she went?" He asked, running a hand through his raven hair.
Then, Parker asked what was going on, and he went through the same internal debate as before. Should he tell him now? Or wait.
Now.
"She just found out she's a witch." He said, looking at the floor. "We're both witches." There was a few moments of silence "You guys are witches?"
"Yup-" He stopped when he heard the muffled voice of Mr. Raven. He furrowed his brows as the two of them began to speak. He decided it was none of his business, and easily tuned out the conversation. He started walking back in the direction of the apartment.
A few minutes later, Parker was back on the line. "Colton?"
"Hm?"
"You'll never guess what I just did." Colton furrowed his brows. "Well, I've never been good at guessing, so tell me."
"I- I just killed my dad..." Parker said, and Colton stopped dead in his tracks. Parker killed his dad? "Oh my God, Parker! You can't just kill your dad like that, man!" Colton shrieked.
"H- he wanted me to kill you guys! What was I supposed to do?!" Colton rolled his eyes. "Maybe have a rational conversation?! Agh, nevermind. I have to find Cassie and tell her."
Colton stayed on the phone with Parker as he walked the last block to the apartment. "I think she'll be home by now," He said into the phone, turning the door handle.
"Cas-" Colton stopped in the doorway. The sight in front of him was horrific. "Colton?" Parker asked, his tone worried. Colton's body began to shake terribly, and he let out a sob.
"Colton! Colton, what's wrong?!" Everything was crumbling down around the raven haired boy. He let out a blood curdling scream, and dropped to his knees.
"Colton, fucking answer me! What the hell is going on?!" Colton held the phone up to his ear again, tears rushing down his cheeks like streams. He let out another loud sob, and tried to speak.
"P- P- Parker! Y- Yo- ou ha- haav- ve to get to our apart- a- apartment, now!" He screamed into the phone, not taking his eyes off the sight in front of him.
HIs twin sister hanging from the ceiling fan.
