Obsessed with the idea of Hikaru getting flustered after Yoshiki reciprocates physical touch. He’s so used to Yoshiki being so nonchalant about Hikaru’s advances in order to fly under the gay-dar. But when they’re alone - Yoshiki ruffles Hikarus hair, grabs his shirt, falls to his knees with his head against his chest...etc. And I feel like it catches Hikaru off guard every time. It’s so cute.

Trigun '98 does the opposite of that thing where the most boring blank slate man ends up with the magical elf queen or whatever. it's like Look at this alien punk gunman who is wanted everywhere for his devastating apocalyptic angelic powers, he is the best shot in the world he's 150 years old he works out and is 6'7'' and he wears a beautiful flowing red coat with cunty boots and he has endless suffering and gentleness in his heart. and this is his girlfriend Meryl, she works in an office

This is such a non-issue but I really dislike when people compare ‘Hikaru’ from TSHD to Nikki Freeman from Obsession. I get that they’re both possessed in a way, but Nikki’s story is meant to symbolise a woman having her autonomy stolen by a selfish man, while ‘Hikaru’s’ is about an entity learning to feel emotions and falling in love. ‘Hikaru’ and Yoshiki truly love each other. The real Hikaru is not suffering because of this, in fact, Yoshiki being not alone was what he wanted right before he died. ‘Hikaru’ is als not being forced to love Yoshiki, he willingly loves him. Nikki on the other hand, was suffering. She was a victim and forced to ‘love’ Bear, a man who didn’t really love her back, but was instead just obsessed with her. Their dynamic stems from control and infatuation, not love. Contrasting this, Yoshikaru’s dynamic stems from love and self discovery after years of repression.

Summer makes me think of The Summer Hikaru Died.

My fingers itched to draw a companion piece to my first tshd fanart, which I made in winter last year. And just like with the first piece I had tons of fun with the Yoshiki version of this!

This manga and anime means so much to me and I hope I could make it somewhat justice with both of my fanarts (⁠ ⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)

For the Yoshiki-centered artwork I chose a color palette that was much more in my comfort zone with it's pinks and purples, than the greens and teals of the Hikaru-centered artwork c: I like both versions tho and I like that they complement each other!

My favorite part was drawing the organs infested with Hikarus goop! (⁠ʘ⁠ᴗ⁠ʘ⁠✿⁠)
