Stoner Witch Tips:
â¨Sharpie pen sigils on your lighter.
â¨Blow smoke into a jar to use in spell work.
â¨Little nugs as offerings to nature or your deities.
â¨Keep your ashes in a tightly closed container for spell work. (Do not breathe the ashy dust this creates*)
â¨Make sure you drink enough water, especially if you smoke heavily.
â¨Write sigils with your resin.
â¨After cleaning your pipe/ rig set it out in the moonlight.
â¨Make knot magic with hemp string.
â¨Say a chant or incantation as you blow the smoke out of your lungs and release it to the universe.

House Guardian
House Guardians help keep wayward negative energies from accumulating too quickly or from âstickingâ from day to day activities. They do not, however, stop massive amounts of it from being brought in.
Materials:
River stone that catches your eye and âfeels rightâ (can be a land stone, any color but preferably you have a stock of these things you have picked up and can pick the one that your guard symbol can stand out on)
pen or brush (I prefer a short quill as you can see from the photo)
Black ink (Normally I have some ink Iâve made from fire ash but I havenât had the chance to restock yet, so India Ink it is!)
Process:
Your House Guardian is going to essentially be your security guard, so treat it accordingly.Â
As you pick out your stone, feel its energy. If it seems to resonate with a particular frequency that you associate with masculine or feminine, or if the stone outright says it refuses to be referred to in such a manner, give it that dignity. Most stones are neutral in that regard but âidentifyingâ a stone in such a way only helps in naming and building a relationship. Every stone is different.
This process can take a long time, so donât expect to get it done in a half hour. With this particular stone pictured above, I have been working at building a connection for a few months (and asked permission for it to be a part of this post). Over this time it has let me know what to call it, how to treat it, and what âfaceâ it was comfortable with displaying. Sometimes a stone wonât tolerate a face but a symbol, sigil, glyph, sometimes a word in a certain language, sometimes even random squiggles or nothing at all. The stone will let you know.
The important thing to remember is that stones are OLD. Theyâre made up of millions of tiny dust particles that have traveled on the wind and water, been buried and compressed under immeasurable amounts of pressure, melted and âfrozenâ throughout the life-age of the Earth. They are parts of a larger whole broken off and slowly eroding away again to start that cycle anew. Essentialy they are the Earthâs âblood.â Theyâve been through so much more than any of us can imagine and carry with them a steadfast stubbornness that has allowed their spirits to persist for so long.Â
Being labeled and used as a House Guardian is hardly a lasting moment for them, but aside from that⌠and like a security guard they might divulge a few old war stories or open up about the state of things in the Hidden World. Just keep in mind as well that what they may share is not often comprehensible by humansâŚ.and is said VERY slowly.
When youâve given it a face (literally or metaphorically) youâve also more than likely been given suggestions on where your House Guardian would prefer to be stationed, now that it knows what you want out of the relationship as well.
Be it on a windowsill, in a forgotten corner of your home, buried in a flowerpot or in the yard somewhere, even in a purse or messenger bag (should they be a rolling stone ^w^).Â
At this point the âprocessâ is little more than suggestions as each stone reacts differently to different people and different situations it is asked to guard within and against. Listen to your chosen stone and come to a compromise that works for you both and donât be afraid to chose another stone if the one you are currently working with just isnât working out (generally if itâs been a year you know for sure the stone does not want to be a House Guardian).

The Banishment Of Evil at the Magic Kingdom: Bears
I am having an awesome time at Disney â we did Epcot on Tuesday, including Spaceship Earth, Ellenâs Energy Adventure (I wonder if Bill Nye feels bad about or if he was just like BILL NYE GOTTA GET PAID YO, SCIENCE AINâT CHEAP) and like at least three times on Mission To Mars or whatever itâs called where simulated G-forces make you feel like your ribcage is eating your internal organs. Also we went on the new Frozen ride, which is spectacular but also very, very short. You do go down a waterfall backwards in a simulacrum of a viking longboat, however.
Yesterday we went to Magic Kingdom where I made everyone go on the Haunted Mansion twice in a row because itâs my favorite ride maybe in the history of ever, and we went on the Mine Train and the big log flume ride, but kids.
Siblings.
Ancestors.
We as a culture â nay, we as a species â need to talk about the Country Bear Jamboree.
I have developed a theory about the Country Bear Jamboree. My theory about the Country Bear Jamboree is that it is both a necessary and a terrifying exorcism ritual which protects the Magic Kingdom, and perhaps all of humanity, from suffering the wrath of dark, dire forces.
Stay with me. Country Bear Jamboree bills itself as an animatronic concert filled with bears who sing and dance and play various down-country style instruments. Grand Ole Opry with animatronic bears. Thatâs not the mystical part.
At one point, about two thirds of the way into the performance, a soloist bear on a guitar comes out and sings a forgettable country song about something, but right at the end, after heâs taken his âbowâ, you hear sudden drumbeats, and green light begins to flash rhythmically behind him. There are no other drums in any of the performances. The bear begins to sway to the drumbeats, and then the curtain falls quickly.
Itâs very weird.
But then another bear appears, with a very out of tune blues guitar, and he sings a song. Itâs a song that may actually exist in folk music canon; Iâm pretty sure Iâve heard it before and may have sung it at some folkie get together or other. The song is about how there was blood in the water, blood in the sand, blood all around, blood on the ground. I think itâs about an old-timey murder.Â
Itâs just one chorus or verse. But itâs very unsettling. There is nervous tittering from the audience, including me. Between the drumbeats and the song about OH MY GOD SO MUCH BLOOD, my ears were pricking a little and my what the hell alarm was going off.
Then the concert justâŚcontinues.
UNTIL, at one point, SERIAL KILLER BLUES BEAR comes back to SING THE BLOOD SONG AGAIN and literally every other bear in the performance appears out of whatever animatronic locker they keep them in, and all the bears all sing their individual songs to drown him out in a cacophony of country crooning.
And thatâs the grand finale!
We walked out of the Country Bear Jamboree wide-eyed, and I immediately turned to my companions and went, âThe fuck was that?â Only it was Disney so in concern for The Children I said âThe heck was that?â
But Iâve worked it out.
Everyone who works at Disney is super cheerful and I think the vast majority of them actually mean it, which is a little bewildering to me. People clearly donât HAVE to wish me happy birthday when they see my ITâS MY BIRTHDAY button, but they do. And so many of them, at eleven at night, seemed joyous to stand on the sidewalk and wave us goodbye as we left. People seem to love to work at Disney and while I donât think that in itself is weird, the level of good cheer in what must be a very frustrating customer service job is startling. I commend them for it, Iâm just confused by it.
So I have a theory. And my theory is this: Country Bear Jamboree is a swirling vortex of evil. The extra darkness, the crankiness, the ill-humor that normally one would develop working at Disney, and indeed perhaps some of the exhausted ire and weariness that people might develop just attending the Disney parks (Meltdown Hour is apparently around 6:30 for toddlers) is sucked down into Frontierland. It seeps through the dusty streets of a fake frontier America, and it enters the Country Bear Jamboree. It is absorbed into this one, brave, robot bear, who takes the evil into himself and sings his mournful song. And then, with drumbeats and singing, the evil is drowned out by the other bears, banished to some ether, an other-world whose only glimpse into ours is through the parks of the Wizard, Disney, whose fierce hairy country-folk guardians forever keep it locked away.
Woe betide us should the Country Bear Jamboree ever leave the Magic Kingdom. Misfortune unto us should the bears fall silent. The bears must sing, or God or Disney must have mercy on our souls.
