It's Finally Friday! Time to Head home and spend time with family and friends.

Today is Mardi Gras in New Orleans and around the world.
Another festival that is on my bucket list to some day attend in person down in New Orleans.
Some day it will happen when the world rights itself and I hope that a bunch of my team can travel down and meet us down there.
New Orleans would make a nice break from the Canadian weather at this time of year even for a short time.
Just to throw it out there who would be interested on a trip down south in a couple of years?
But one does not need to be in New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras. Sit down with friends and family and just enjoy food and friendship at home.
Seeing as its Friday and everyone is dreaming about the weekend I thought I would throw a picture I found that describes one of my long term goals.
The house itself may not be exactly what I want but the quiet and the solitude with my family away from all of the headaches of life.

In school we were told that if you go to college/university and then work hard all your life you can accomplish a dream like this when you are 65-70 years old. That same program in todays day with our projected economy puts the number closer to 75-80 if you can stop working at all.
So once you have finally hit your magic retirement number whatever it is, all of the hard work you have done to get there has wore out your body in most cases and you cannot do the things that you want to do anymore
You spend the golden years of your life in and out of doctors offices, when you should be on the golf course or cruising around seeing the world.
A standard Career will not get you there anymore at least not in time to enjoy your retirement.

Yesterday afternoon was grooming day here at Castle Pollard. Off with the winter coat and our puppies are now ready with their sleek new bird chasing more aerodynamic pupper design. Needless to say Mom and Dad needed a bath just as bad as the the puppies did after we trimmed off all of the hair. Took a drive up to Barr head today and remembered that a freind from work told me about a hidden gem of a camp spot up in the Vega, Alberta Area. It was only 30 mins out of my way and it was beautiful outside so I decided to check it out. I totally forgot to take pictures of the actual operational ferry that is there, and I just missed a grain truck that just came across from the other side. But it looks awesome. The best part of this spot is that as soon as you come down the hill there is no service. No signal at all. No phone no internet no nothing. If you need a place to become completely unplugged then this is your place. We may end up therebin the coming weeks after May long weekend of course.
