Magic in the Body
❇ For grounding magic, pour your focus into your chest. Your lungs and veins look like trees for a reason, breath is the root of your life and roots you to your situation. Imagine the ventricles creaping into every part of your body, holding you firm and keeping you grounded.
❇ For warding and protection magic, focus on your elbows and knees. Your arms are the first thing that will curl up to protect your head, your knees curl up to protect your organs. The joins and muscles here will throw power into the spells that keep you safest.
❇ For divination and meditation, focus on your back. Your spine carries information from every point of your body; it connects every piece of you. To absorb and remember all the information of looking to things not usually seen, it is your spine that will carry it.
❇ For glamour magic focus on your shoulders and hips. Your shoulders and hips are solid, steady joints that connect appendages to the torso. As you try and bring glamour to yourself or others, focus on these strong, sensual points. They will carry your strength the softest.
❇ For binding magic, focus on your ribs. Your ribs are a solid structural cage that contains and conceals the most precious things to you. They are hard, durable, and connected. These ridges of bone will give you the unwavering strength to hold things.
❇ For concealment magic, focus on your hands. Your hands move so much throughout the day, doing every imaginable task that it is hard to pin them down and stay focused on them. While the rest of your body can be still and silent, your hands are almost always in use, they will allow you to slide focus away from whatever you want to conceal.
❇❇Your body had magic all throughout it; these are just suggestions.❇❇❇❇
❇❇Wherever you hold energy and focus in yourself is valid and individual.❇❇
slavic forests are actually located in another dimension
if you’ve ever been in one of the great forests in a slavic country you’ll know that there’s a point where the trees grow so densely packed that the air is completely still and it’s so silent you could hear a pin drop a mile away and you suddenly become uncomfortably aware of the sound of your own heartbeat and the knowledge that the trees surrounding you are alive and just as aware of your presence as you are of theirs, and that’s when you know you’ve crossed into a different realm
there’s that moment when you actually feel how your ancestors used to worship old gods there and treat nature as part of their spiritual world and you’ll know that those old trees have seen empires rise and all, they’ve seen people forget the power in nature and yet they stand there, proud and old, with history etched into their bark, roots back in the times where there used to be prayers sang in the forests
To Create a Personal Worry Stone or Relieve Tension
You will need:
A dark, round stone from a garden, park, seashore, or river bank, small enough to carry with you.
Eight smaller dark stones, forming a square around it.
A small dark-colored bag or purse.
Timing:
Monday evening, especially during the waning moon
The spell:
Hold the central stone between your palms and gently enclose it, saying softly, “Into this stone i put all fears, doubts, anxiety, [name specific causes of worry]. Take them from me that i may be free.”
Set the stone in the center of the square of stones and say, “Limited be, confined, no longer mine.” Put the worry stone in the bag or purse.
Take the smaller stones outside and leave them there.
Still outside, shake your fingers, pointing downward to the ground, and say, “Anything remaining, now is draining away.”
Take your worry stone with you to work or any potentially anxiety-provoking situation and wash it weekly.

@sophia-the-weird
I made an oil for attracting wealth and used a smidge of it on a product at work that I needed to sell quickly.
I sold about two and a half weeks worth in three days.
But can we get the recipe though lol
Yeah, but get ready cause it’s super highly complicated!
It’s olive oil… and some gold flakes.
That’s it 😹 The gold flakes are actually just the leftover bits of gold leaf from when I illuminated the front page of my grimoire. You put a tacky sort of glue on the page, lay the gold leaf on it, and then rub with a brush to remove the gold leaf that’s not stuck to any glue. And then I had this little pile of gold leaf flakes that I didn’t want to just throw out, so I dropped it into some olive oil and shook it up.
So…. I bet gold glitter would work lol
Ehhh, not the same thing in this case. Like, disclaimer: this is my UPG, so if you want to try gold glitter, then go ahead. I’ll always advocate the Mythbusters approach to magic. Try it. See what happens.
That being said, the purpose of putting gold leaf in the oil is that it’s somewhat expensive. Not like break the bank expensive, but it’s definitely more of an investment than picking up a pack of glitter bottles from the dollar store. And even though the gold flakes aren’t usually pure gold, they are definitely metal, which pretty much has an inherent value to it. Gold glitter is plastic, and adds nothing representing money/wealth/prosperity to the oil, it just adds sparkle. So you’d be taking out an ingredient that’s meant to represent wealth, and replacing it with something that’s aesthetically similar, but not functionally similar. The point isn’t “gold and shiny”, the point is “representing wealth”. Make sense?
If you were going to sub out the gold flakes, I wouldn’t use glitter. Instead, I’d shred up a dollar bill and put the bits in the oil. Or get a big enough bottle and drop a few coins in the bottom and cover them with oil. Maybe even an earring or some other small jewelry.
The olive oil is also a deliberate choice here in that it’s got history behind it as a valuable commodity. So even though it’s a simple two-ingredient oil, those two ingredients have enough history and inherent value in them to pack a hell of a punch without too much added frill.
Idk, my reply with the “lol it’s just leftover craft supplies” really undersells the importance of the gold, ‘cause I was just using casual blogger speak. But I actually brainstormed the oil and deliberately went out and got the gold leaf FOR THE OIL. The grimoire illumination was actually the byproduct. I did the illumination specifically so that I would get the flakes for the oil.
It’s late and this is getting way more long winded than I meant it to be. But I guess the tl;dr is that if you’re making a cake, you don’t sub out salt for sugar just because they have a similar look and texture, because they’re not functionally the same thing.
Well see now I’m glad I asked because I hadn’t thought about that! Also your cake analogy is perfect because I’m a baker and I really should know better lol
XD This is something I could do! I actually have coins sitting around (unfortunately no gold leaves), that I could do this with!
THIS!!! THIS IS WHAT WE MEAN WHEN WE SAY YOU CAN JUST SUB OUT ONE HERB FOR ANOTHER OR ONE CRYSTAL FOR ANOTHER IN A SPELL.
Just because something looks similar or is a “catch all” doesnt mean it will have the same effect on the magic. Ingredients are often chosen with a purpose wether for their history or their significance and simply exchanging them for what is easy will not always have the same outcome.
Super important point and very well illustrated. Thank you😊
This is also why I generally don’t put spell recipes out online.
My magic works because the ingredients have meaning to ME. Too many magic books (and posters) assume things have the same meaning across the board, but that’s not so at all.
What I loove is OP’s explanation post. That’s the kind of magic instruction I live for. Explaining the purpose behind the parts of a spell so another magic user can use something that has that meaning for them.
Calling all witches!!
I need some advice! I am a doll maker by trade, but I’m not sure how to tie it into my craft. I’m thinking sigils on the inside to give the buyer luck and happiness, or something similar. However, I intend to keep most of my dolls so I want them to be charged and such or powerful. Maybe use then as a guardian? Do you guys have any ideas about what to do with my dolls??
You could make the dolls into spirit vessels or spirit houses~
I’m *pretty sure* it’s a bad idea
Just because a spirit vessel has a humanoid form doesn’t mean it’ll suddenly gain the ability to walk around and do shit.
It’ll act similar to the spirit vessels and houses that are made from bottles and boxes.
For example, doll making in magic has often been used to draw in good spirits, so that they ward off malevolent spirits. In the video, it talks about a dolling technique of ridding troublemakers. You would create a doll to represent the person or thing (can also be applied to spirits) and hum charms to it.
In a few of Gemma Gary’s books (I believe either black toad or traditional cornish witchcraft), she talks about or mentions house dolls and chimney dolls, which were used to protect the boundary of the home and aid in making sure all needs are met. “Scandinavian” kitchen witch dolls are also an example of this.
The factcthst horror movies make mincemeat of folk magic traditions does not make the original magic inherently a bad idea.
And on the flip side, it’s entirely possible to make a very nasty spirit vessel that looks entirely pleasant. A little decorative box or something. Can’t judge a book by its cover.
Come to think of it, anybody who has ever breathed life into a sachet or poppet has created some variety of living doll - if you have a fairly liberal definition of “living.”
Dolls as spirit houses are quite normal. Don’t let movies scare you off.
Secret Witch Tip #6
If you need jars, get them by buying food in jars, such as pistachios and pickles. Not only do you get a snack and it’s an easy and cheap way to obtain a jar, but then people won’t ask what you’re doing with the jar. Empty the contents by putting them into a baggy, wash out the jar, and hide it somewhere, such as under the bed, in a hamper, or in your closet.
Otherwise, if you have bought an empty jar, say that it’s for art (glitter jar is a good example) or that you’re using it to keep money/other stuff in it.
protection chant
(since I wrote this for myself, it is semi-gendered and also uses the word “bitch”)
Do not fuck with this witch, I am one badass bitch, touch me and your hands will burn – come near me and your stomach turns as I say it, it shall be: now stay the fuck away from me.
(when threatened whisper/chant quietly or repetitively think on this chant. This one makes me feel really strong and tough and I enjoy the colloquial language in it a LOT.)
Feather-set’s Black Box Hotel Curse
Protect what is yours. Create paranoia and fear in those who enter your domain. Break them if they break the contract.
This three-part curse is handy for protecting your sacred space while you are away. Place protections, erect watchful guardians, and force the contract onto any that enter here. This curse will only activate on those that break the contract’s rules—rules that you, by design, decide for yourself—and will cause paranoia and fear in those that break them. In other words, if they break the rules, you break their sanity.
Part 1: Burning Paranoia Protection Satchels
Part 2: Watchful Sentries of the Hotel
Part 3: Caught in the Black Box Contract
Witch Tip:
Instead of pouring salt everywhere for cleansing and protection, try misting salt water from a spray bottle! The salt is unnoticeable to guests, and there is no gritty cleanup!
Add an essential oil for an added boost.

Hey I have a question: would it be okay if I got a tattoo of this? I draw it on my arm over my scars and it just makes me feel… better. Like everything shuts up and leaves me alone as long as it’s there. My husband suggested a tattoo, but I didn’t know if a) that would be okay since I didn’t create it; and b) if that would be disrespectful because I’m not a witch and I don’t want to use something that’s not meant for me (which technically also means I shouldn’t be drawing it on my arm so um… sorry? I think? I’m bad at humaning?)
Yes it’s definitely okay if you would like to get tattoos of our sigils ! A few people already have actually ! We always just ask that you send photos of them to us because we love to see them :) I am glad to hear you are so drawn to it and glad that it helps you ❤️

A Beginner’s Guide to Candle Magic
The very first spell that most folks cast happens on our birthdays. Someone lovingly purchases or bakes a cake for us and candles, representing our age, are placed on top. Those candles are lit and as we close our eyes, we are told to make a silent wish and blow them out.
Many believe that this tradition dates back to ancient pagan rituals. Our birthdays were considered to be important since they marked our entry into this world. The candles on the cake held great force and power and, once blown out, the wish was carried by the smoke and sent to the gods. The gods, in turn, would receive the message and grant the wish.
Candles are integral to spell-casting and are arguably the best and most inexpensive way to get started. Most of us have a supply of candles or tealights in our homes, and some light them at night while having dinner, reading a book or writing. However, candles symbolize elements - earth, air, water and fire and, if you have a desire in mind, all you need is fire and the intent to make it happen.
Candle colours and their correspondences
One of the most important aspects of candle magic is to use the right colour candle. Some spells are rigid and need a precise colour or shade of a colour while others are more open-ended. Choosing and cleansing your candles
It’s important to magically disinfect your candles before use - most are mass-produced across the world, often in less-than-ideal conditions and, because wax is a vessel for energy, every person that has come into contact with your candle has effectively deposited some of their energy into the wax.
There are many ways to cleanse candles before a spell and most folks have a ritual that works for them. Some people enjoy a prolonged ceremony of candle cleansing while others leave them in the garden to soak up moonlight. Below is a method of cleansing referred to as “anointing” and involves water and oils to prepare the candle before the ritual begins.
Step 1: Wipe Clean
Wipe the wax with a paper towel, removing all traces of debris and dust.
Step 2: Prepare a solution
Mix salt and water into a saucepan on medium heat. Once the salt dissolves, let cool.
Step 3: Intent
Standing in front of the sink, hold the candle in your left hand. Pour a small amount of the saline solution over the candle, being careful not to wet the wick. Take a fresh paper towel and dry thoroughly while saying:
“This magickal water cleanses thee,
With good intent and purity.”
Step 4: Inscribing
With a small paring knife or needle, scratch your full name and your goal into the wax. It doesn’t matter where you inscribe the words, and it’s not important that they’re particularly legible. Once the candle is lit, these words will burn away and give the spell more clout.
Step 5: Anointing
Pour some vegetable oil into a small bowl. You can feel free to mix in herbs that are associated with your spell’s intent. Hold the candle in your left hand again. Dip the first finger of your right hand into the oil and run it down the candle from top to bottom in a line. Say this invocation:
“This magickal oil anoints thee, with all things good, magickally.”
Step 6: Rhyming and Repetition
One of the ways we can add more power to a spell is by repeating the incantation over and over. Often, prewritten spells, both ancient and modern, will rhyme with some kind of poetic fluidity. Repetition will help enforce the message.
Step 7: Ending the spell
After repeating your spell the desired number of times, you will need to close the ritual. Choose one of the phrases below to say before looking upward and saying thank you.
“And so it is.”
“The spell is cast.”
“So mote it be.”
