More 4 am updates!

A lot of you guys seem interested in Scooby Doo so I’m going to redirect you to my SD blog @coolsvillecove ! I don’t mind SD asks here, but I just want to give you guys another place to ask if you have questions about my opinions on Scooby Doo things. My weird handcanon timeline stuff will probably mostly be on this blog tho.

You said in one of your Scooby fanarts that you have your own canon of them .Do you have anything in mind?(I love your art BTW! )

My weird canon of scooby doo is mostly just head canons tbh. Location wise I combined coolsville and crystal cove (so like, some of the gang lives in coolsville while the other lives in crystal cove? Im still working out the kinks).

Character wise its definitely a mix of the classic characterizations and the more modern ones from SDMI and BCSD.

Oh in the doc I should clarify something!

Walter (even tho his name is Steve, I misheard it when I watched the special) is from the olympics Scooby Doo special. Me and my friend have a weird inside joke with him. Also I’m gonna try to incorporate other one off characters who were allies in the SD canon more.

what are some things you like about sdmi?

oh boy! let's get into this

A major component is definitely the more serious tone and overarching plot bc it’s really different for the SD franchise at the time and they don’t just try to make it super “edgy” or anything, it just feels natural and there is still a lot of humor in the show 

another part I really liked about it was that they switched up character dynamics and just characterization in general. They all feel pretty fleshed out and I like how they weren’t afraid to change up some characters (I guess the only one I’m on the fence about is Velma, but even then I love her in this). My favorite in this is definitely Fred tho.

I also really like the art! Big chins, stylized enough but still classic and has alot of atmosphere

Do you have a scooby doo ship? I personally like Velma and Shaggy from Crystal Cove, they had a good dynamic

I actually ship them all (minus Scoob) as like a poly group usually? But I really enjoy the 2 person pairings too.

It mostly depends on how it’s written tbh. I think that SDMI did something interesting with the Shaggy and Velma relationship, and I somewhat liked how they handled the break up.

But yeah, most to all ships are good in Scooby Doo
