Concept art for Ballgare, a character from my fantasy work-in-progress novel. I am not great at dark shadowy images, so it was also a practice of that.

And here are all of them! This is the main group of the first novel, and are quite the group of misfits. I tried to make them varied in age(novels have a habit of all the main characters being the same age) while also making them pretty different in general.

Left to Right: Antiiss, Fynlan, Ballgare, Albaen, Edmi, Heafieon.

Heafieon did not get a separate close up like the rest because he looks a little awkward still.

New character drawing! This is Edmi. She is a new leader of a squad of sellswords(often called "The Reds") and loves her work. She is no cinnamon roll. 

I might change her hair and clothes colors later, but it is good enough for now. :) I also think this is my first time drawing full armour, so I apologize for any mistakes I may have made.

Thoughts

I'm moving Solicia from Woad to her own novel "Wishes on the Wind." She just was not working with the plot as I wanted her to, so now she can be the main character of her own story.

Here is Ballgare! He is a soft-spoken gruff sell-sword. He talks and acts like a jerk, but he's also the first to tell someone to eat their vegetables to stay healthy. Secretly, he's a massive softy. And I do mean massive; he's the tallest one in the story.

I might change his clothes a little bit later to make them suit him a better...

Meet, Fynlan. He's a bit of a dorky criminal, but if you can befriend him(before he steals your money and runs) he is really loyal. He's one of the main characters of Woad, and is really fun to write.

I just finish my daily WC, so I am taking a break by drawing my assassin, Heafieon, in scribble type sketches with lazy color.

I drew a new character who may or may not end up in Woad. Her name is Mairii. She has sensitive eyes in the sun, but can see in the dark. She is also extremely skilled with her staff, so no one dares mess with her.

I am writing Woad for NaNoWriMo, but I still need to do some more plotting before I know if this character will be added or not.

I am going to be writing my novel Woad for NaNoWriMo, so I have to get all my characters carefully thought out. For some reason, drawing really helps with that for me, so I drew this. This is my character named “Heafieon.” He is an assassin who is rarely seen without a mask.

This is just a random drawing of my character “Antiiss.” This is a scene from the novel I am currently writing. I just wanted to draw it out to help myself picture it a little better.

My art is still not amazing, and I have a lot to improve on still, but I am still improving, and that’s what makes me happy. : )

Woot! I finally had time to draw more concept art for Heafieon! Its so sketchy and only with a base layer because of lack of time.

I was watching anime when I drew this, so I think I little bit of that leaked into this, but oh well.

EDIT: I added another drawing I did right after(on the right) with Antiiss and Heafieon.

I have been inventing creatures again! 

In my novel there is a nomadic people that use eagle to hunt -just like the Mongolian eagle hunters-but I randomly wanted to invent my own bird. In the novel, they are said to be the cousins to fire-birds(phoenix).

This is actually a mix between a bearded vulture, a raven, and a greater racket-tailed drongo.
