So, to my lovely anon, I hope you start feeling better soon- and you can message me any time. Any and all of my followers are welcome to reach out if they're struggling. đ

âThere is no point treating a depressed person as though she were just feeling sad, saying, âThere now, hang on, youâll get over it.â Sadness is more or less like a head cold â with patience, it passes. Depression is like cancer.â â Barbara Kingsolver, The Bean Trees

11:17am: "Sam wants to know if you're coming to his party tomorrow, he didn't get your RSVP đ"
2:35pm: "Hey, sweets. I was thinking of getting Thai for dinner tonight. You interested?đ€"
4:51pm: "Can I come by later, baby?đ"
7:35pm: "Could you just send me a quick text so I know you're okay, love?"
8:14pm: "I'm coming over, if that's okay. Let me know, doll. "
Bucky sped over to your apartment, making the 20 minute drive in only 9 minutes. Not a day went by that you didn't have your phone on you at all times, and you always texted back quickly- six unanswered messages was plenty reason for alarm.
The relationship was still kind of new, yes, but Bucky knew his girl. There was no doubt in his mind that something was very wrong, and he wasn't going to sit idly by. His nervous energy made his body vibrate, giving him shaky breaths and unsteady hands. He arrived at your building and pressed the button for the elevator, but didn't have the patience to wait for it to arrive. Instead, he opted for the stairs and rushed up the seven flights in record-breaking time.
Where do I sign up to get my own Bucky Barnes?

Hi, friends! This was a request from @breakablebarnes, who described this ic idea as "dark and meta", so obviously I'm here for it.

"Your eyes are glowing and I'm holding your hand You ask if I'll run with you up to the edge Hands on my waist and fingers running through hair Well, I know that it's all in my head...
If the stars ain't showing, the whiskey ain't burning Well, I'm still gonna be your girl When we both stop growing and they dig us deep Yeah, I'm still gonna be your girl..."
The light of the sunset had your apartment glowing gold. Bucky's body leaned up against yours, letting you play with his hair while the two of you watched the classic Gene Kelly musical, Singin' in the Rain. As Gene Kelley swept Debbie Reynolds into his arms near the end of You Were Meant for Me, Bucky nuzzled in closer to you. "How have I not taken you dancing yet, sweets?" he asked as he turned to face you. An unexpected chuckle fell from your lips at his question, making him cock his head to the side with confusion.
"Buck, I don't have any idea where- people don't really go dancing anymore. If you go dancing these days, it's at like, a rave or a nightclub" you told him, "I'm sure that's not the kind of dancing you're looking for." A disappointed frown twisted his lips downward and he sighed out a huff. Then, without a word, he was up off of the couch.

You stare blankly into the distance of your bathroom, your eyes landing on nothing specifically, simply zoning out from the world around you. It was dark besides the blue-tinted night light plugged into the wall across from you. The floor below you was hard and cold, the expensive tile felt like stone under you as your limbs pulled close to your chest, you stayed deadly still. The aftermath ritual of relapsing. Moments ago you were dry heaving, tears streaming down your face as you desperately scratched away at your skin trying to find that small blade hidden away in attempts you'd forget. Your mind was racing so fast that you couldnât keep track of a single thought for more than a second, and it wouldn't stop. And now, you sit in a weird comfortable peace, face dry of tears and incredibly tired. Your limbs burned from your self-inflicted torture but you couldn't be bothered to focus on it.
Today hadn't been a hard day exactly. Actually, it had been a relatively good week, but these things just creep up on you like that. Ended up with you coming to the alternative that wasn't exactly smart but you trusted it, it has worked before. You ignored Thor calling you down for dinner, it wasn't an unusual thing for an avenger to refuse and miss out. Everyone was dealing with their own shit. You hoped no one would notice your absence. But when have you ever been right before?
Your bathroom door was slightly cracked open, but it was slowly nudged further open as you heard a soft knock at your door. A familiar gruff voice called your name. It was Bucky, Bucky's room was across from yours and you both shared a small kitchen and common area as you two were the only ones on the floor of Starks enormous tower. You suffered from insomnia and he suffered from horrible night terrors that left him screaming awake. So naturally, the two of you found comfort in each other, whether it be sharing a bed for the night or being in each other's presence in the kitchen or living room in the dead of night when neither of you could bear to sleep. Bucky wasn't foreign to your addiction, to him walking in on your aftermath ritual of dissociating on a cold, hard floor.
âDoll?â his voice sounded worried from the other side of the door. You couldn't bear to tear your eyes away from whatever you were staring at, or even muster up a small noise as a response. You didn't move. Nonetheless, he pushed the rest of your door open, and right as he came into view you were void of your trance. Your eyes snapped to him. Bucky stood with his vibranium hand gripping the doorknob, his metal finger wrapped tighter as he processed the sight of you. His eyes were wide and worried, and a wave of terror flashed across his face.
You only bow your head in shame, you couldnât look at him and see how disgust and disappointment filled his face. Bucky's footsteps ascended towards you, you wanted to yell and push him away and lock the door and never let anyone back in but, you were tired and he was much stronger than you. So you continued to sit still until the flesh warmth of Bucky's hand rose to your face, directing you to look at him. His face showed so many emotions you couldn't begin to suspect what he was feeling. He was just staring into your eyes, those perfect ocean blue eyes. He slowly shook his head disapprovingly.
You blinked, once, twice. Your throat croaked as you attempted to apologize to the man in front of you but nothing came out.
Your eyes diverted down again, you felt on fire under his stare. âDo I need to take you to the med wing?â
He asked this question every time, and you always shot your head up and would rapidly shake your head and beg him not to carry you away to be fixed by an unfamiliar doctor and have to bear the disapproving looks of anyone you saw in the hall. And word gets around fast in the tower to by the end of the night everyone would know of your damage.
âBucky.â your voice came out hoarse but quick. âPlease don't make me go, please.â He just looked back at you, leaving you unanswered. His hand still held steady on your face, he was squatting down to your height. The silence was deafening but as soon as you were about to make up some excuse for your relapse, his hand left your face and the warmth left your body with it making you feel cold and weak once again.
âSame place as last time?â Bucky asked but it sounded more like a statement than a question as he opened a cabinet and grabbed bandages and your usual stuff to clean the open wounds on your arms.
You didn't usually clean yourself up after, besides just getting water and cleaning up extra blood. All your life you left the scars untreated. You were never sure if you did this as an extra way of torture, letting the sting of the cuts linger longer or because that meant the marks would be more apparent for longer, leaving a reminder for you all the time. The first time Bucky had walked in on you, he ran to bruce's lab and back after you begged and pleaded with him not to take you to the med bay. And he came back with enough bandages to cover your wounds and then by the next day you found a box of bandages and tape as well as hydrogen peroxide to clean your wounds sitting on your bed in a Walgreens bag. A small gesture that weirdly made you want to do it less, but you would never tell Bucky that.
Bucky turned back to you with a bottle and cotton pads in his hands, he sat across from you on the bathroom floor. Your eyes averted away from his face, you couldn't hide the embarrassment on your face, you felt like a little kid that made a mess just for someone else to unrightfully clean it up for you.
âSweetheart, I need you to look at me.â his soft voice rang through your head, and as much as you didn't want to you obeyed. Your eyes traveled up Bucky's face to meet with his blue eyes, he looked tired and upset and suddenly another way of guilt went through you. âI'm going to clean this up, okay?â he waited patiently for your response, you just nodded tiredly. âThis is going to sting, just tell me if it's too much, and Iâll stop.â
Slowly, Bucky grabbed your arm from your lap and he began running the clothes across the wounds. You watched the blood wash away just for it to keep coming up from the lines you created. You bit your lip, you felt like you were going to cry out but you were simply too drained to shed another tear.
âLook at me.â bucky said, âI need you to look at me.â
You tore your eyes away from your wrist and met with his eyes once again. His icy blue eyes that you could get lost in, as cheesy as it sounds, you just genuinely could stare at him all day just to drown in the ocean he had for eyes. Bucky Barnes was an incredibly attractive man, you would not deny that, and almost every person on the planet would agree with you. Women swooned for him left and right in the 40s, as Steve would retell stories of their past life decades ago. But there was truly something so different about him. The shape of his nose and the hollow of his cheeks, his jawline looked like it was sculpted by the gods, and his smile. Oh god, his smile was such a beautiful and rare thing. During the past months of being close, you would sometimes do anything to get a good genuine smile out of him, even if it mean embarrassing yourself in the process.
âYou're staring, dear,â Bucky spoke, and you looked down to see your arm had already been wrapped in the white bandages. Damn, had you been staring at him that long?
âYou told me to look at you, not my fault.â shrugging your shoulders, beginning to pull your arm back to you but Bucky's grip tightened. Not enough to hurt you but enough just to keep you from pulling away from him. A moment of silence fell between you before he brought your arm up to his lips and he placed a gentle kiss on your bandaged skin. He looked back up to you before shifting his weight so he could lean in and continue to place another kiss on your forehead. The warmth spreads through you and makes you feel lighter and slightly better.
âI'm disappointed in you, doll,â he whispered. you nodded in agreement, knowing he should be. âYou need to understand how much this hurts me too, everytime I see you like this, it hurts me so much because I care about you more than you imagine.â
He spoke clearly and genuinely, the words hit you hard in the chest. Making you feel equally better knowing he cared but also worst because you hurt him, one of the things in life you actively attempt to avoid. His eyes turned glossy and he swallowed hard and, suddenly your throat went dry again. You couldnât speak a word of a response so you just bow your head again, averting eye contact so speaking to bucky would feel less intimidating.
âIt has to hurt, it won't stop unless I do this.â you choked out, waterworks started up once again and the tears started streaming. âI'm sorry, buck. I just never know what else to do.â
Bucky grabbed you gently and pulled you into him, feeling his warmth more closely. He shushed you softly and wiped away the tears from your cheek as he placed another kiss on the top of your head. Holding you close to his chest, you would faintly hear his heartbeat over your racing thoughts, bringing you down back to earth as you focused on the beats of his chest. Eventually, you calmed down completely but bucky didn't let you go yet, he still held you close. He was slightly rocking you back and forth as he rubbed your back with his metal arm.
âCan you sit still and be good for a moment? I need to grab something real quick, sweetheart.â he pulled away just far enough so he could see your face. He wiped away whatever tears remained on your face. Bucky gave you a small reassuring smile as you nodded while mumbling a quiet agreement.
And soon enough he got up and the warmth of his body left you again feeling empty and you slumped back into the wall behind you. You felt so drained and limp you could have fallen unconscious right here an now. The quietness of the room felt intimating, it was so easy for you to grow accustomed to Buckyâs presence that it terrified you. You wondered if he would lie and leave and not come back, finally getting fed up with your self-destruction and cleaning up your messes. You wouldnât blame him for it, leaving you, you didn't believe you deserves an ounce of his care. He was an ex-assassin and struggling to come back from being brainwashed to do horrible things without a choice, while now being in a new time, having to adjust to a new world. He needed to focus on himself and take time to recover. Not take care of you. But as soon as you were about to convince yourself Bucky wasn't coming back and that you did in fact deserved it he came through the bathroom door again, with a bowl in his hands.
You tilt your head, your eyebrows furrowed together in confusion to see a bowl of ice in his hands as he sets it down in between the two of you. bucky sits down next to you and grabs ahold of your unbandaged arm. âIf it absolutely has to hurt,â he grabs a couple of cubes of ice and puts them in your hand to hold. âHolding ice for a while usually leaves a sting.â
As your fingers wrapped around the cold cubes in your hand, you waited and as he said, it left a small sting. You held it in your warm, sweaty hands until it melted and grabbed another fistful. Your eyes traveled up to Buckyâs face to see he was already looking at you with loving eyes.
âBucky..â you began to speak, but your words fell short and nothing came out.
He sighed, âI'm not going to tell you to stop, because I understand what youâre feeling.â he paused for a moment, collecting his thoughts before continuing. âBut I really care about you and it hurts knowing you have to harm yourself to feel better.â
âI'm sorry,â you said, was all you could think to say to him at this moment. You dropped the rest of the ice into the bowl and shoved it aside and shifted, trying to scoot your drained body close to bucky. âI'm sorry that I hurt you.â
Bucky blinked a few times before grabbing your face again and giving you another comforting kiss on your forehead. Both vibranium and flesh hands raised to hold your face, pulling all your attention onto him.
âPromise me that next time you feel like this. come to my room and ill take care of you, dollâ he spoke sincerely. His eyes sparkled with admiration it almost made you want to cry.
You raised a shaky hand and stuck out your pinky finger in front of him. âPink promise.â
Bucky's eyes shot from your face to your hand, and a small smile crept onto his face at your gesture. But nonetheless, he took his flesh hand in yours, repeating the line before both of you locked it with a kiss on the hand.
âNow let's get you to bed.â
And with that Bucky helped you up, guiding you slowly to your bedroom. He asked you if you wanted to change out of your clothes, and you just explained to him how tired you were and you flopped onto the bed. After tucking yourself comfortably under your blanket and settling to your side, Bucky followed after tugging off his shirt. His arms wrapped around you as he began to speak sweet nothings into the back of your head as you dozed off into sleep.
apparently people are now purchasing thick water to make slimes with because of a trend on tiktok
thick water is for disabled people who canât swallow properly. stores usually have extremely limited supplies of it.
please donât buy thick water for fun or to make slime with. itâs literally the only way some disabled people can drink anything. Itâs not a fucking toy
It's Okay, Little Doll
My second fic, and the first time I've tried writing about agere. I hope it's okay! Constructive critism welcome! Sorry I don't know how to do the cut thing.
Bucky Barnes x Little reader.
You're desperate to regress, but your house mate is home and you try not to. He has other ideas.
Can't think of any trigger warnings. I guess *slightly* forced regression, but in a caring concerned way?
You walked into your apartment with a tired sigh. Work had been awful, your creepy co worker had spent the day hitting on you no matter how many times you had told him you had a boyfriend. You didnât have a boyfriend, but he had no way to verify that. He did know you lived with Bucky though, so you just let him assume that you were a couple.
You dumped your work bag and the stack of files youâd been carrying onto the table and kicked off your shoes. You just needed to get changed into something comfy, find some snacks and chocolate milk, then you could go to your room and regress. Bucky was on a mission and wouldnât be home for a few days so you knew that he wouldnât catch you in your little state.
You were just about to go into the kitchen to get your snacks and chocolate milk when you heard him.
âHey, doll, you okay?â A soft voice said from behind you, making you jump and drop the packet of goldfish crackers youâd been about to pour into a bowl.
âBucky!â You spun around, wide eyed and desperately started trying to fight off the regression that had been starting to take over your mind.
He chuckled and held his hands up showing you he meant no harm. âJeez doll, itâs just me!â He didnât raise his voice, continuing to speak softly, though amusement was evident on his face. âSorry, I didnât mean to startle you. I thought you heard me coming.â
You shook your head and smiled. Internally you were screaming. âNo, no no! I canât regress in front of Bucky!â Â âIâm fine, sorry I must have been in my own world. Youâre back early?â You questioned. Maybe he was just back to get something? You needed to regress and it was hard to fight it. Just had to get a snack and retreat to your room.
âYeahâ He nodded. âTurns out they donât need a full team, Nat and Steve have gone aloneâÂ
You were fighting the need to slip with every ounce of will you had. âOh.. what are you gonna do now?â You didnât hear the slightly higher pitch of your voice, or the way you were fiddling anxiously with your sleeves. However it didnât go unnoticed by Bucky and he tilted his head, concern flashing in his eyes.
âDoll, you okay?â He stepped forward, placing a hand on your shoulder, his eyes widening in surprise when you stepped back fearfully. He removed his hand, the concern now more prominent on his face. âDoll? You know Iâd never hurt you, right?â
You nod and wring your hands anxiously. You could feel yourself slipping and were desperately trying to stop it. ââM fineâ you said, and you wince inwardly, you heard your voice that time and realised you were slipping faster than you thought. You grab the bag of goldfish, deciding to forget about the rest of your snacks and chocolate milk for now, intending to rush to your bedroom and hide in there for the rest of the night. Bucky stops you with another hand on your shoulder as you try to push past him.
âHey, hey, whereâs the fire? Whatâs wrong?â He was concerned, heâd never seen you act like this, and you had certainly never acted scared of him before. He waited for you to answer him, frowning when you stiffened under his hand. He let go again and let you go with a sigh. He wasnât going to force you to stay and talk to him when you very clearly didnât want to. He figured heâd give you a little while to calm down and check on you later. He made his way back to his room and lay on his bed with the book heâd been reading. He would have stayed there if he hadnât heard you muttering anxiously in your own room. His super soldier senses made it easy for him to hear, though he usually did his best to block it out. He couldnât this time though, not when he could hear that you were so worked up about something.
âNo no, not in front of Bucky, come on y/n. You can fight this!â You were pacing in your room, desperately trying not to slip. You knew that now Bucky was concerned about you, he wouldnât leave you alone the whole night. You knew he would come and check on you and you couldnât afford to be in your littlespace when he did. He couldnât see you like that, no one could. If youâd known he was going to be home, you would have been more prepared to stop it, having the whole day to work through it. Unfortunately, you hadnât known he would be home and had been planning for it all day, so now you were home it was getting harder and harder to fight off.Â
Youâd already put all your little items in the wardrobe so you couldnât see them, including the plush toy that usually lived on your bed. You were hoping that not being able to see the things that you usually used in your little time would make it easier for you to stop the slip.
You gasped when he knocked on your door, calling out to see if you were okay.
âJ-just a minute!â You hastily looked around your room, checking for anything that might give it away before sighing and telling him to come in.
He opened the door and walked in, taking a breath when he saw you. He could see your whole body was tense and you looked on the verge of a panic attack. âHey, hey whatâs wrong?â He moved toward you, careful not to touch you this time. He knew you didnât like to be touched. You tolerated the occasional short hug from him, but that was all. The hands on your shoulders earlier were normally okay too, but youâd made it clear to him that they werenât at the moment, so he just kept his hands where you could see them and crouched in front of you to be less intimidating.
âJ-just a bad dayâ you whispered and gasped when you heard your voice. You were still slipping and you couldnât stop it! This was bad. You quickly looked to the side, trying to look anywhere but at Bucky. This time, Bucky gasped quietly as it clicked in his head. You were regressing! Well, you were trying NOT to regress, but he recognised the signs. Heâd never been in the lifestyle himself, but he knew that Steve had had a little at one point and heâd seen them interact a couple of times. Nodded to himself, unseen by you and decided to just treat you like he would a scared child.
âShh, shh itâs okay, little one.â
He saw you freeze and your breath catch in your throat. âN-not little!â he heard you say frantically, your voice still in that higher pitch but not quite childlike yet. He could see that you desperately needed to regress, and that you were trying not to so he decided to just carry on, hoping to make you feel safe and go into your littlespace. He edged closer to you, still not touching you yet, keeping his movements slow so you could see everything he was doing.
âOh I know youâre not, not just yet, but you want to be so badly, donât you little doll?â
You froze again, slowly turning to look at Bucky. âN-no! D-dunno what youâre talking about!â you had to fight the urge to stomp your foot. This was bad, Bucky was going to see! You couldnât let that happen!
Bucky just smiled at you, slowly reaching out and curling his fingers around your wrist, gently tugging you toward him. âItâs okay little doll, Iâm here. Youâre safe with me.â his voice was soft, doing his best to sound calming as he pulled you into him, gently wrapping his arms around you. He felt you stiffen but didnât let you go this time, he simply gently ran his metal hand up and down your back in soothing circles while gently pressing your head into his chest with the other. You stayed stiff, starting to tremble and he worried that heâd pushed you too far. He keeps going though, murmuring softly to you, taking the fact that while you were anxious, you werenât pulling away as a sign that it was okay to continue. He stops rubbing your back, using that hand to scoop you up into his arms and moving to the bed with you, he sits on it, leaning back against the headboard and pulls you fully onto him, still making soothing noises and starts rubbing your back again.
âThatâs it little doll, you just relax here in my arms. Let Bucky take care of you. Just let it happen⊠everythingâs okayâ
You keep fighting desperately but you feel yourself losing the fight. You knew for certain that you were going to lose it when you felt yourself relaxing into his touch despite yourself. âThere you go⊠good girl..â when he called you a good girl you could no longer fight it, and just let it take over. You cuddled into him, your thumb sucked into your mouth and closed your eyes. You heard Bucky chuckle quietly.
âThere you go little doll, thatâs much better isnât it?â You blinked up at him and saw him smiling softly down at you. You nodded at him shyly, still worried about being little in front of him, but now youâd slipped, you were much more open to accepting the comfort and safety that his presence offered.
âNothing to worry about little doll, you just relax here in Buckyâs arms. Iâll take care of you.â He started stroking your hair softly and rocking from side to side slowly, smiling gently at you as your eyes started falling closed.
âShh, thatâs it, little one.. Just let yourself drift away. You donât need to worry about a thing.â
You sighed contentedly and let yourself drift off to sleep. Maybe being little in front of Bucky wasnât so bad after all.
guessing game.

Cold Cuddles
I have a cold and binged watched Beauty and The Beast for the first time.
Reader has a cold and wants cuddles with Vincent.
Trigger warnings: Reader is sick
You groaned and started feeling around for your phone on your bedside cabinet. You heard it fall to the floor and swore under your breath, finally opening your eyes with a sigh. Your head was pounding. You could barely breathe through your nose, and your throat felt like it was on fire.
It seemed to be just getting light, or just getting dark. You hoped just getting dark so that it meant that Vincent would be more likely to show up. After managing to reach your phone you looked at the time and smiled a little, 6:45pm, that meant Vincent was likely to show up. You were pretty sure that you just had a cold, but Vincent had been a doctor in a previous life and could likely tell you for sure. Plus, he generally wasn't against being used as a human pillow.
You stumbled around your apartment, pulling on some sweatpants and a hoodie that you'd stolen from your boyfriend. You got yourself a glass of water and sighed when you realised that you'd run out of painkillers. You refilled your glass and lit a few candles, deciding to keep the light as low as possible in hopes that it would help keep the headache in check. You let yourself sink onto the sofa and closed your eyes, holding your cold glass against your forehead until you exploded into a sneezing fit.
You tried to set the glass down on the table as the sneezing fit turned into a coughing fit and missed, the glass smashing against the floor. You internally groaned as you coughed, trying to get a decent breath. The next thing you knew, gentle hands were pushing you back against the sofa and brushing your hair from your face.
âJust breathe, youâre okayâ
One of the hands moved to your forehead as you managed to take a shaky breath.
âVincent, I think Iâm dyingâ you mumbled as you relaxed back against the sofa cushions, watching Vincent move to the kitchen to get some paper towels to clear up the broken glass and filling a new glass for you.
He chuckled softly as he came back, placing the glass in your hands before he clears up the broken glass and water. Once heâs thrown everything away he sits next to you on the sofa, taking the glass and placing it on the table for you.
âYouâre not dying sweetheart, but you do have a nasty cold. Why didnât you tell me that youâre sick?â
You moved to cuddle up against him and he wrapped an arm around you, letting you snuggle into his chest.
âIt wasnât this bad this morning, I figured Iâd take a nap and Iâd feel better.â You knew you sounded sulky, but you didnât care. He rubbed his thumb up and down your arm soothingly.
âThatâs not how it works unfortunately, though sleep is a good idea. Have you eaten?â You shook your head and he pulled his phone. You heard him tapping out a text before he kissed the top of your head and carefully moved you so he could stand up.
âOkay, letâs get you back to bed, then Iâll take care of food. JT is picking up some things for me, Iâll have him drop them at the front door.â Heâd been walking you towards the bedroom as he was speaking. Once you were inside, he helped you change and tucked you into bed. He left and returned with your glass of water, setting it on your bedside table, then sat on the side of the bed, brushing your hair back again.
âDo you feel like eating?â
You shook your head âNot at the moment, I need this headache to go first.â
He frowned at you âYou didnât take anything for it?â
âNo, I thought I had some aspirin left, but apparently notâ
He took his phone out again and sent another text, presumably to JT to add aspirin to the list, then settled beside on the bed, pulling you into him. He started talking softy about nothing in particular, letting you listen until you drifted to sleep, listening to his voice rumble in his chest.
When you woke up, he wasnât in the room, but there was some tablets next to your glass of water telling you to take them. You recognised the aspirin, and assumed the other two were some sort of cold medication. You took them and climbed out of bed, shuffling to the living room you found Vincent in your kitchen heating some soup and putting some crackers on a plate.
âHey, what are you doing up?â he looked over to you, concerned as you lowered yourself to the sofa again.
âMy pillow was gone, I needed to find it.â
He grinned, pouring the soup into a bowl and brings it over to you with the crackers. âOh, so Iâm just a pillow now, huh?â
âWell, I guess youâre an okay body guardâ you grinned up at him and he feigned a shocked look.
âOkay? I am an EXCELLENT body guard! Iâll have you know I took out a VERY dangerous 5 year old today, saved hundreds of innocent lives!â
âOh yeah, were they secretly a ninja assassin?â
âNo, but they could have killed hundreds if I hadnât caught the bear bomb they threw during their tantrum!â
You started laughing, which lead to another coughing fit. Vincent carefully sat you up, rubbing at your back as you coughed. Once you were done, he handed you your water to sip at and placed it back when you were done before gently laying you down against him again.
You snuggled against him again and closed your eyes and listened as he told you about his day.
He was gone when you woke up in the morning, but there were meds on your bedside table again with instructions for taking them throughout the day and telling you to rest up and take care of yourself until he came back later that night. You smiled and decided to get up, bed was boring and you could always burrito yourself on the couch.
You were still there when Vincent arrived that evening. You felt like death, but having Vincent there made everything feel better. You could live with a cold if it meant extra cuddles with your beloved beast.
Writing Advice
I've posted one story, and it seems to have gone pretty well. My problem is that I've tried writing a few more stories, and I just can't figure out how to make them less wordy. For example, I've just started a Hawaii Five-0 story, it's over 600 words, and all that's happened in the reader has walked into the headquarters. There's a small memory part where she remembers how she ended up there. The thing is, I don't know how to choose what is important and what to skip.
Do I just finish the story and then try and cut it down, or do I do it now? And in either case, how do I decide?
Thank you for any help I receive.

Brother Winter (Teen!Reader x Bucky Barnes [Platonic])
Requested by @anxious-queerboiâ for *Bucky rescuing a teen from Hydra and keeping them safe. Maybe Bucky becoming an intensely over protective older brother, maybe not young teen reader though, maybe 19? and reader has a bit of a crush on Steve? :) Â
They were preparing you for the same process theyâd use on the Maximoff Twins years into the future, with key differences
They had visions of creating an Empowered super soldier. One with telekinesis and telepathy and whatever else they could cram into your DNA.
After kidnapping you and wiping your memories, they sent you to Siberia to be trained by the Winter Soldier, their greatest and most obedient. After the catastrophic failure they had in making more Winter Soldiers, they were going to be very careful with you.
The Soldier and you were forced into proximity, because they knew he would bond with you - this was against protocol, but the creators of the Soldier had been dead for decades.
You were weak and the Soldier was a ruthless teacher while under the commands of your handlers, but he came to care for you - rather like a pet. You were the only one other than his handler to get physically near him and they used that to their great advantage. Heâs only technically about three or four years older than you, in any case.
Unfortunately, they succeeded in Enhancing you - though luckily they had to put you under ice before they could utilize your telekinetic and telepathic abilities and your super soldier physicality
Bucky remembers you though - even when they wiped him, he retained the thought of that scared young man he protected
And when he broke free of HYDRA control, he knew heâd have to go find you.
So he did - you remember awakening and the Soldier speaking to you in American English, helping you escape - and you went with him, knowing he was the only thing safe.
But the Soldier was different than you remember, and he helps bring you out of your shell. Neither of you are the people you once were, or what HYDRA made you into, but you have become a little family of new beings, an older brother and a younger one, facing this new world that is so unfamiliar
