Jax isolated Ribbit and abandoned Kaufmo, causing them to abstract, and abused Ragatha and Gangle for years; she knew it could've led them to suffer the same fate yet refused to stop, even enjoying hurting them. However, Goose concentrated only on Jax's trauma and tried to make her empathetic, overshadowing her victims and paying little attention to how much they suffered at Jax's hands.
An abuser can be traumatized, but writers should use that trauma to explain their actions and behavior instead of as a tool to make us empathize or sympathize with them. They should also heavily focus on how the abuser's actions affected their victims instead of using them to make us care more about the abuser. Jax's story should've been more centered on how her actions harmed Ribbit, Kaufmo, Ragatha, and Gangle instead of only focusing on her thoughts and feelings.
Goose should never have put Jax's trauma and self-inflicted suffering above that of her victims, who existed purely to make her story appear more "tragic.”
