               they tell you, time will fix everything. but what they don’t tell you, is how long? you’re left with promises of things will get better, you’ll be okay. you can hope, & believe, that they are right. & you think you do, some days in the haze of time passing you by – but most days you can hardly breathe. heart heavy & struggling for air, you hyperventilate. the ache in your chest is familiar. these days it’s almost welcome; at least then you feel something. memories haunt you, & there is nothing you can do to rid of them, except trust that maybe one day, they’ll be right   /   indie sam, written by ashe.

sam suffers from ptsd following the events of the game.   she becomes increasingly paranoid & anxious at times, or dissociated, & is often emotionally numb, insisting she is fine.   she finds less enjoyment in the activities she did before   (   hiking, running, singing   ).   during more grounded episodes she feels incredible guilt for not being able to prevent the twin’s deaths, & for what happens to josh.   she is increasingly more sleepless & isolated.
