Okay, hear me out. Transmasc ES Bumblebee.
I think transmasc interpretation of earthspark Bumblebee could be very interesting.
Look, he's that guy, who, when young was considered cute, a mascot. Something everybody loved but not for what he actually was.
Then he was a young scout. Still a mascot, a person that can never escape the role of some cute pet. He is a soldier, a pro, he has the skill and wits for the job, he regularly risks his life. No one sees him for that. He tries to prove himself, again and again. He tries so hard, but he never earns Optimus' and other autobots' trust. They like him a lot, but not the actual him. They can't appreciate his skill and ambition, notice his struggles, can't fully believe him able to have competencies, too caught up in what he no longer is, if he ever was. What they want him to be.
And then he is older. He is himself. Maybe trying to put some boundaries. Maybe not even. But the fact is, the illusion can no longer be held. To other autobots he became that awkward thing that nobody knows how to act around, since he doesn't want to be what everyone else wants him to be. He feels more and more alienated, excluded.
Until he starts to be literally excluded, pretending to be dead, with no contact with anyone but Breakdown, a person who knows him only as who he is and accepts it. Despite having him, Bumblebee feels alone. Sometimes he wonders if not having to contact him is a relief for the autobots. If the decision was not only strategic for Optimus, but also personally comfortable. No autobot seemed to be struggling with not contacting him.
Then, after such a long time, he is allowed back again. It feels dizzying and overwhelming, it feels like a second chance. Bumblebee is so ready to do anything for Optimus, even Megatron to accept him, as who he actually is.
It is not a second chance. It is another exclusion, with people he doesn't know that he has to take care of, despite not knowing how. It's missed calls to Optimus, it's a typically feminine role he gets thrust into. They call it being a mentor, but Bumblebee knows better. It's being a babysitter, almost a mother figure. And like many mothers, he gets sidelined again, in a new way.
But here comes a twist. The Terrans, Malto family, they don't know any of that. They don't see it like that. And as hard as it is, to still not have anyone who gets it, Bumblebee gets someone else in them. People who actually see him in him. Kids who, instead of a babysitter see him as an older brother. A family that respects his achievements and skills, trusts his opinion, respects and trusts him as the person he is. In this place that could be another purgatory, he found happiness, comfort, himself.
