Not too far from home.
This was one of the best days I'd had in years.
Two introverts and one (me) that's been breaking out and being as outgoing as possible.

I went through a very interesting transition in life where I had to let go of all I had hoped for, built, and knew for some time.
It was refreshing. I got rid of my car, my love at the time, my camera (a7iii + Canon 24-70mm F/ 2.8 about a decade ago...it's still my favourite simple setup), my place of living. I'd like to say it was my decision, it was only that due to my knack to search for the best route in the midst of chaos.
This needed to happen, I need to assess what I was doing and what for.
Are we making cool looking video and snapping images for money and skating by or are we working towards something larger than a transaction? What for the soul?
I lost a friend to what would become my cause as I'd battled with it myself. In an effort to work through this, one thing I worked on was getting out and just finding time to be creative, where I feel most at peace and thoughtless...no ego, no worries...just let's capture something and enjoy doing it.
So, I invited a couple of people with some stylish Bimmers and another photographer I was planning on doing business with.
I anticipated what would happen on the day based on the communication of everyone in the group.
*Second car guy - lots of "up in the air talk"...nothing solid, like a woman who doesn't want to say no.
*Second photographer - didn't want to show if the second car guy didn't show for some reason
First car (the bro) - let's do it
I figured it'd be us two...and that was perfect.
We caught up a bunch when I met bro at his place...played a game of s.k.a.t.e.. I was rusty but I had fun. Then we headed to the spot as I snapped a few images before we left.
The location I had prepared was used in some films for sure. I got it from a DP for the music video " Kenny Mason - Angelic Hoodrat (Official Video) ". His name is B****. You can see it around the 0:16 mark.

It's also from "Den of Thieves" if you've ever seen that scene where they take the armored truck by blocking it with a trash collecting vehicle.
From there everything was peaceful. The car looked amazing and the sun kept going in and out from the clouds which created two different feels I really enjoyed. I captured some polaroids too. It was hard to find a bad frame.
In between captures, we'd catch up about creative endeavors. The goods, the bads, what is.
I kind of take everything as guidance. If it didn't work out here, here is not where it is meant to shine...go onward to find a new possibility.
Unfortunately, not everyone thinks the same, so it's easy to lose momentum and will power every negative on just "not-as-successful-as-I-thought" moments. But expectation is the thievery of your own doing. Robbing yourself of what was never meant to be, but expected.
Here I am...wanting basically 2-3 cars to arrive, another photographer to capture digital and footage while I capture facets of film and honestly...
I got what I needed and the bro the same.
That was too much for the location and not enough film to focus the one car the way I did. This is just a few, there's so much more. It was peaceful, a great connection made, proper images...a breath of fresh air.
If I focused what didn't happen due to robbing my self by expecting, I'd spent a day in the clouds while the sun is shining and creativity is possible.
