Wait do they have to crack their bones or neckS
if you mean in the like. pops in your bones instead of breaking them, i am not sure! the popping noise is due to popping gas bubbles in your joint liquids (the liquids are important, keep your bones moving smoothly)
so i guess the question comes down to "do they have joint liquid?" which is not a question i ever expected to answer! probably yes! it'd probably hurt them if those joints were grinding together and movement would be hard and noisy- it's probably magic instead of synovial fluid but you get the idea
There are various timelines that comics I make will follow, most being from various rps I’ve done with @theriverpersonshadow. I’m not going over all of them, there are tons, but here are some relevant timelines and how they work!
Beware, VERY long post ahead!!
[also there are Things to Beware Of, including drawn body horror/gore, eldritch horror creatures, mentions of abuse, mental illness, panic attacks, and some squicks like shipping. Basically, if you have triggers, please assume they will be here as I’m sure I didn’t mention all of the ones that appear)
BBB is the first RP we did, introducing common characters and our own headcanons of them- what abilities and personalities they had that may have diverged from ‘canon’ or fanon.
Red, Blue and Carrot are the most consistent characters, though many others show up, they just tend to be the most regular ones. Blue and Carrot are pretty solidly My Characters, Red was usually played by River along with the particular Special Plot Characters for that RP. Other characters that weren’t so much in the spotlight (like Queen Toriel, Undyne, Alphys, Fell Papyrus, etc) tended to be traded between us.
All three of them are aware of alternative universes and Red and Blue have some capacity to hop between them, the details of which even I’m sure on tbh. It involves directions like “left” and “right” which somehow makes sense to them!
Blue and Carrot generally follow the gist of my version of Underswap, but there are some changes- notably that they’re a bit younger than in the Wolf’s Underswap comics (here, Blue is about 17, Carrot is about 23, Wolf’s Underswap is set a couple months in a future uninterrupted by multiversal bs), as well as having a couple relatively minor changes to life events.
Red has undergone many changes, generally being goofy, non-serious, but spiteful and immature. He doesn’t intend to do harm to someone who doesn’t deserve it, but that doesn’t mean he’s always aware of harm he’s doing. He also has some degree of LV that, in very rare and intense circumstances, can make him blind to rage. Red does eventually become less of a little shit later on, embracing the less traumatizing and intense life in Underswap, but that can take a while to get to.
BBB Special Character is a kid Papyrus named Buddy [they/them] with flowers growing out of their head that put people to sleep. They were from a fell-type world, this ability was a very helpful one!
Blue and Red began the story hating each other..or rather, Blue hated Red, Red was a spiteful little shit. Carrot and Red hate each other. Blue and Red later warmed up to each other, Blue being somewhat desperate for any degree of companionship, agrees to a romantic relationship with Red that he promises he’s very happy in.
Every other timeline follows after this one chronologically. This took place first in almost every timeline, and builds off of this as a base. This is atypical, most RPs are unrelated to one another and don’t take place in the same continuity unless otherwise specified.
Quarantale (the first) was about Blue getting trapped in a quarantined world where, every now and then, a rift between reality and void opened up and distorted every monster into a physical representation of their worst traits and fears. They do turn back to normal after, though they don’t remember what happened during the rift.
The quarantine essentially makes it much more difficult to enter and either entirely impossible or so close to it that the average person can’t tell a difference.
It’s The Body Horror The AU
This little guy- like 3 inches big- is Blue’s distorted version (or, one of them). After issues with a rift and Quarantale Sans, Blue is now missing his left leg and, eventually, gets a prosthetic.
Quarantale also introduced various other characters like Than [they/them] (Flowey but Chara’s soul instead of Asriel‘s) and Void Goat Frisk [they/them]. Which leads us to the next one, the continuation of this AU (not to be mistaken with Quarantale 2)
Void Goat Frisk is a creature from the void, a creation of Void Gaster’s [?/?] as an attempt to reengage with the real world and escape the void. However, this actually resulted in the development of the rifts in the first place :)
Void Goat Frisk is actually just a void creature stuffed into a monster “flesh” suit, and they need to return to void periodically in order to sustain themselves as they don’t eat. They have a cardboard box fort with a mini void inside that can and will fuck up anything and everything that enters it.
Also, no, I didn’t forget to draw eyes, they do not have eyes and can only see 3D objects! Anything 2D is entirely missing to them. And that little heart on their tail is an actual like. Soul place. People can shove their souls into this little creature because, as previously mentioned, they were made to be a vessel, not a living being. Having a soul on Frisk’s tail will allow for some funky special abilities, like moving Frisk’s body, seeing what they see, telepathy, memory sharing, maybe more that I’m not remembering.
Although Frisk doesn’t eat, they do have a mini void inside that goat vessel that can store a myriad of things. They particularly like berries- strawberries iirc
They can be quite mischievous at times, but are overall very good-natured. Their biggest issues tend to be that they don’t fully understand emotions or the consequences of their actions.
They can also bring things back to life if they died within a few moments of the attempted revival. This resulted in a spinoff AU, but that’s not the focus atm.
Than, for the longest time, had a “fake” pseudo-soul. They’re known to be spiteful and snappy, edgy teen stuff and occasionally antagonistic, but still very angsty over everything that’s happened. They did, eventually, get a new “proper” soul, quite literally invented by.....someone...?? It’s been a while I don’t remember who made it. Anyways this new soul has come along with several new challenges of it’s own, namely emotions are intense and so much what is emotional regulation.
Than is also a contributing reason of why Blue couldn’t escape Quarantale- they stole his phone and destroyed it. Granted he probably couldn’t get out anyways, but Than sure didn’t help.
Blue Has Weird Friends takes place after Blue does manage to get out and get home, mostly coping with the aftermath of the events that took place- everything from becoming an amputee, having two exceedingly odd children suddenly placed in his care for some reason, and all of the trauma that took place.
The Imposter timeline existed beFORE AMONG US ISTG- has some supernatural stuff going on.
There are creatures, all but one extinct, that had the ability to mask the soul of a monster and take their shape, take their voice, everything. They’re incredibly good at acting and observe their victim for a long time before trying to take their place.
In this AU, the last one of these creatures decides his life looks ideal and takes his place. It allows Blue to name them- Blue names them Liar.
Blue is highly troubled by this and goes out of his way to confront Liar in every way he can, but since Red, Carrot, Undyne, everyone thinks that Liar is actually Blue and that Blue is the creature hunting him.
After much struggle, Blue Fawn-Responses his way into essentially adopting Liar on the condition that Liar takes the place of someone that wouldn’t suffer from it.
My blorbo from my friend is here <3
I’m keeping this one more vague since I’m going to make comics about Lock and Chain’s stories, but oh boy I like this one.
Lock and Chain pop into the home of the Underswap crew.
Sitting, dissociated and empty on the ground, is Lock, held on a leash of all things. Everyone else, save for the two new people, are appalled by this.
Chain demands to see the local Sans- keep in mind, Chain is essentially a Swapfell- and Alphys tries to fight him while...someone...again don’t remember who goes to find Blue.
Blue promptly decides that hugs are the correct answer and affections his way into stopping the fight. Somehow he’s correct and Chain doesn’t think any less of Blue for distracting him with a hug.
Long story short they have Lock and Chain go on their way, but no one can forget how terrible the conditions for Lock were.
So, after some time passes, this becomes the story of How Blue And Red Become Kidnappers!
Silenced is a continuation of Locked and Chained, wherein Blue gets a taste of his own medicine and comes back a changed man.
Also Chain learns that gyftmas sweaters exist and refuses to wear anything except his armor or those sweaters.
All you really need to know is that Blue is traumatized and admits to many terrible things and it’s all one big hurt/comfort fic with some extra background thrown in for flavor.
Meanwhile Carrot is scandalized when another man flirts with him. Especially because he hates that guy. He really does. He promises.
And last, the Default timeline, where everything goes the same as it does in Wolf’s Underswap but something changes. This is where comics like Carrot having Rust as a discord friend comes in- it’s not exactly the same timeline as BBB so it’s Default, but it’s on this blog because there’s still Multiverse Shit happening, it’s just not part of the continuity of BBB like all the other ones are.
I’ll try to tag these appropriately so I don’t completely confuse and loose people.
If you have any questions, go ahead and ask! If you’re curious about other RPs River and I have done, I’d have to ask River first, but I could probably talk about those too.
