This video presents a day spent at Hinton-in-the-Hedges airfield. This is quite busy airfield. You can find quite a lot of different air activity: powered planes, parachutes and of course gliders.
Unfortunately on that day RAF decided to make para drops on my home airfield Weston on the Green, so either I could go home or somewhere else. It would be a pity to loose such a good day.
So enjoy a day at Hinton and let me know what you think!
Ridge soaring in my Slingsby Dart 17WR at Southdowns ridges last year. Check this out and let me know what you think.
Gliders gain height using energy of rising air - thermals. Sometimes you can find really exceptional thermal. Check out this video and let me know what you think. This variometer shows that I am climbing over 10kts up, more than 5m/s! I shared this thermal with SHK-1, yet another great wooden glider. It is niece to see other hiper-tech glass gliders left below!
Hinton in the Hedges Airfield is a place of many air activities. You can find there powered planes, sky divers and of course gliders! Check this video and let me know what you think!
Soaring above Silverstone Racing Circuit. Check this out!
EuroFox at Hinton is about to tow K6CR. Unfortunately glider pilot can't keep wings level and right one drops on the ground. Not being able to lift the wing pilot is promptly releasing the cable not allowing to aggravate situation.
Wing drops on aero-tow are usually less serious than on winch launch, but also can end in ground loop. Usually there is more time to react than on winch. However, be prepared!
